Hoosiers is by far the best basketball film I've seen. But he got game, glory days, coach carter and blue chips are all up there. It's hard to find a bad 30 for 30 documentary. My favourites are the one on the Fab Five, Jordan Rides the Bus, Once Brothers and the one about the bad boys. It may be almost 3 hours but hoop dreams does make you realise how much college and high school players are used and spat out! Happy watching! Have you watched more than a game yet I loved that

Sorry Defying, not adding one for you but I'd like to say 'Glory Road' already on your list is a good watch.

Have Coach Carter on DVD, decent movie. Space Jam was one of the first films I ever saw in the cinema, brilliant song by the talented R Kelly.

Hoop Dreams, Hoosiers and Blue Chips - solely for Larry Legend's acting.

Also, if you're considering Documentaries, Courtship of Rivals and Michael Jordan To The Max.

These aren't exactly Films but there are 2 pretty good anime series relating to Basketball that do have a pretty good storyline! Slam Dunk is a classic from the 90's (Very Dragonball-esque animation style) which I haven't personally watched but is one of the classics. Kuroko No Basket (Kuroko's Basketball) is a very recent series and is ongoing too with a few seasons already passed. It has one good storyline and I've watched it and is one of my favourite anime series, hence why I cosplay from it at Comic Cons!

As I have posted on here before, Space Jam is the reason my family started attending basketball. I know it is not as "cool" as some of the other films mentioned here, but my son loved the film and wanted to go and see a real basketball game.
The rest is history.

Reminder to anyone who's not seen it yet that "more than a game" (lebrons junior team documentary is brilliant)
And it's FOC on youtube if you look hard enough

I highly recommend a documentary about the final days of the ABA, a really good look at how teams would try to outdo each other in an attempt to be accepted into the NBA. It also delves in the 1970s marketing techniques and discovers the history of the Alley-oop play. It's called Semi-Pro. Also a film called semi pro with Woody Harrelson

Picked up Coach Carter on DVD at 50p! Loved it! The timeout talks were everything I expected of Jonny White but never got! Samuel Jackson believes in this movie so it's worth watching!

Semi pro is a favourite of mine. Very nostalgic in relation to the ABA. Plus a lot of the stuff that happens in the film, I mean crazy stuff, actually happened in the ABA. e.g. players being traded for electrical appliances, someone getting shot at, fights during TV timeouts... Etc... A bit of fun!

It's been said, but White Men Can't Jump is awesome.
"He called me a honky mother f***er and said I couldn't score" "You are a honky mother f***er Billy" "Yea, but I can score!"
