Didn't you just sign a replacement big? So what's the issue? That's us showing intent. We signed the big BEFORE Defoe was withdrawn from the squad. It should have given us an advantage and was clever scouting. But totally negated if Defoe is fit to play for Eagles but not fit to play for England. We take the hard option. And invest time and funds. Eagles take the easy option. I'm deliberately not going to call it cheating (unless we lose the league). Then I might! Lets see if he's fit for March 29th. |

I'm assuming this is a wind up, this can't be serious We play Eagles March 29th The first Commonwealth Game Defoe could have played in is not until a week later on April 5th (England v Scotland) Clearly there is no chance Defoe will be fit to play against us if he can't be fit to play for England on April 5th So I'm obviously worrying about nothing He won't possibly be fit for the game against us and even if he was he wouldn't play as it would look too dodgy I've got myself in a kerfuffle over nothing Sorry |

Hearing there is some unrest in the camp/set up hence the delay in announcing squad officially The delay is down to a bit of trouble confirming the nationality of players on FIBA's registration system (as per Mark Woods). Happy to be corrected if this is not the case. And the above may well explain why Defoe isn't in the squad Wasn't eligible to play for England is what I've been told "Allegedly" |
