The neutral venue, the break in play, the missing players......round 1 shock results! I won't offer up spoilers but the NBA is certainly dramatic since its return.

Sod the spoilers - if you're into the NBA then you already know what's gone down.
The Bucks being bested by Orlando was a shock but then the Blazers upsetting the Lakers was a joy.
Not so much of a shock for me cos I had pointed to the over-reliance on the Big TWO - 40 minutes each is too much for their aching/ageing bodies.
My 35/1 wager on Blazers was down to 25/1 prior to Game 1 & has now plummeted to 10/1!

Davis is not ageing and should not be aching. He’s not playing well though. Only 33% from the field for a p,Ayer of his size, skill and athleticism is awful. He missed 5 3s against the defensively challenged Blazers....... why was he even be shooting them. Get to the basket.
Blazers are great fun to watch. Terrible defensively but they are backing themselves to outscore their opponents.

Even if Lakers pull it back vs Blazers they'll get their come-uppance for an unbalanced roster at some point. Having to give decent minutes to the greybeard duo of Green & Howard says it all.
And this year could well be Lebron's last chance at another Championship.

Go Mavs.
Seems that Clippers are losing the rebound battle. Boban is really stepping up while Kawhi is having to over-compensate for the under-achieving of others.

The lack of home court and the disruption of the Bubble is evening things out. Also there’s a start to the changing of the guard too.
Herseys Mavs look dangerous. For me the Blazers are too sketchy on the defensive end but they match up Well with Lakers. I’d say Lakers probably would much prefer the Mavs to the Clippers.
I’d love to see Leonard get dumped out in first round. Never forgiven him for the way he treated Spurs. Classless from an awesome player.
Sky’s schedule has been a pile of ****e so far.

Davis didn't look too shabby last night.

He certainly did. Got busy early and often just like a player of his calibre should. The biggest surprise was how balanced the Lakers scoring was (aided by extended garbage time) with Lebron only needing to chip in 10pts.
The Blazers looked tired and JVG made an interesting comment about how in normal circumstances they’d be feeling good having stolen a game and home court away from the Lakers.
In the bubble it means jack though. It’s 1-1 and they got whipped. Let’s see if Dames watch gets fixed for G3 😉

Yes Davis had a rebound game.
Was also surprised by the early input of McGee.
Lakers came out of the traps so much better and essentially bullied Blazers out of it.
But what about Howard's hair - how old does he think he is
And Connors is right about the Sky coverage - early doors they were showing nearly every match but whoever now puts together their game schedule appears to be drunk
I've got the planner set to series record and keep getting random regular-season matches popping up . Its a concern if Sky look at the viewing figures and do not realise that their own bizarre moves are contributing to this.

I finally got through Mavs' game two. 89 minutes to watch the final period and a half. Jeez. But we now have home court, it could be crucial. This is real play-off basketball. I hate everything about Clippers two games in. Rivers is a nark. Morris (senior) is a colossal prick - seriously does he need the (senior) ? his kid isn't going to run on the court and commit another foul that gets missed. I hate them all. It's exactly how it should be. I'm hoping, with home court advantage, we get our first call of the series. a
Re Sky. I imagine they had a certain amount of regular season games they could air. Now they're back to their contract. Seriously, buy league pass.

Doncic making me a big time believer! Wow. Incredible performance and stat line. Paul George was dreadful and I notice how Harrell was a complete non factor. I wonder if he was too embarrassed to play well after his shocking comment to Doncic in G3? Given the current highly charged political/social climate the NBA is inhabiting I’m surprised the NBA did not take action against him.
This is proving to be a great series. The best on show currently in the playoffs.

Some amazing skip passes to the corner for THJ and Burke was amazing. The last shot is a staple for him, concerned that Clippers thought that Jackson was the guy and PG/Kawhi didn’t want to fight over screens to be there. Great game!

Has to be said that in addition to some cracking matches there have been some dreadful blow outs too. The Blazers, as I suspected, seem to have run out of steam against the Lakers. Lebron and AD have woken up and the rest of the squad seems to be playing better too. Feel a bit sorry for the Blazers but they put a lot of effort into just making the playoffs and Lillard playing hurt is not helping. Lakers will close that one out 4-1 I think.
It looks like the Jazz may have Denver’s number. Certainly they have a number of players catching fire. Really enjoyed the game where both Mitchel and Murray went for 50+. I like Jokic but I think they are getting closed 4-1 now too.
I think if PG wakes up and starts playing, Beverley comes back and Harrell gets over his embarrassment then the Clips could escape 4-2. If none of those things happen and Porzingis plays......Luka time. !
Struggling to call Rockets OKC. It feels like if Westbrook was back playing as he was they would have too much. However OKC are a deceptively good team. I like Dorts defence on Harden (despite the numbers). CP3 is pulling the strings and has a point to prove. If Rockets start missing 3s they could lose to anyone.
Bucks are advancing but surprised they’re making such hard work of it at times.
