I'm happy with that result. Not much preparation time; long trip; opposition doing well; pretty full house of home support; a key player missing; and still win. Obviously the home leg needs to be won, but that must give Riders some confidence.

Around 75 Raiders supporters will be at the Morningside Arena on Sunday cheering really loudly

I’ve to see a good crowd at the pavilions on a midweek night. Other venues have looked pretty empty. What do Raiders dovtgat ithers don’t?

Live in a place where there's b*gger all else to do? (Just kidding, Devonians) It's probably relevant that Plymouth don't have any other decent sports teams to support?

And playing at the Pavillions means they will have a huge database of potential clients that can instantly be made aware of a new game to watch. Not just basketball fans but anyone who has ever been to an event there. It's also one of the prime entertainment venues in Plymouth and obviously well known.

I'll let you into the secret your clubs so desperately need if you want to fill an arena mid week.
You spend 6 years being absolutely **** You see the club to 2 people who genuinely know basketball and city like the back of their hand. They hire basketball staff, not people who dont know the game. They then the club around and make us all believe.
It's that simple.
The next 2 weekends are some of the biggest event weekends our city has and we still did it

I think the fact that there are no other "major" sporting teams in Plymouth (as someone mentioned previously) my be a factor...

Our arena is hardly high profile is it? Hidden away at the back of an industrial estate where we are reliant on the (brilliant) generosity of local firms for parking. No-one driving along any major arterial road through Leicester can even see it. Many people who live in Leicester I speak to have no idea where Morningside Arena is located. Soulsby made us build there but it is clearly not a great situation. We ought to have had somewhere with ample free parking and room for expansion if the BBL ever manages to develop with serious numbers of followers. What's done is done and obviously I'm happier with what Riders now have than where we played in the past but let's not pretend it is in an ideal situation.

As basketball fans we should be applauding any team that gets bodied into their building, no matter what else there is to do in the city. Sometimes we are so negative. Yes Raiders Euro attendances were appalling but that’s a basketball problem not specifically Leicester’s. After the season we’ve had with so many teams taking positive steps and a new team mixing it up we should be congratulating not pop pooing a team that looks like it’s taking 75 fans to an Away game 🤩

I think that's great. Moreover, bringing 75 fans to Leicester is amazing by most club's standards, especially as it's being broadcast as I understand. Usually we get a single bus load accompanying the team on their coach. Should be a terrific atmosphere at the arena.
