2017 Playoff Final Riders 84 Eagles 63 2018 Playoff Final Riders 81 Lions 60 2019 Playoff Final Riders 93 Royals 61
There's a pattern here.
Maybe next year when we do a poll on who might win the Playoff final - more posters on here might just start to tip Riders
The 32 point win today is a new Playoff record

Congrats to Riders - well deserved on the day against a very mediocre Royals team.
Riders wanted it and executed their plan well. Without Washpun, Royals had nothing in the backcourt.
When did a team shooting 44% last win a final by over 30?!

My preferred stat of the weekend tho is Andy Thompson has now won the playoff final 7 times! Absolutely unreal!

Biggest one off game of the season in front of the biggest crowd of the season If Royals can't be in the mood for this game Bigz then when can they? I think Royals will be in the mood. However, I know Riders will be in the mood. I'm backing Riders and Rob to deliver one way or another (even if Royals are in the mood) They weren't in the mood. Fair play to Riders - having a poor season but still winning a trophy. Made very light work of that. First quarter Vince and Dan commentating it was like two heavyweight boxers going at each other to and fro Same happened first quarter last year as well. Then we turn the screw. They started in the mood but couldn't maintain it. You can't cheat with turning the mood on and off like a tap.

Williams rightly MVP. Just gets on with it.
Can we keep him?

That was so satisfying. Congratulations to everyone at Riders for a spectacular victory. We got stronger as the game progressed. Strangled the life and fight out of Royals.

Williams rightly MVP. Just gets on with it. Can we keep him? Hopefully, but doubt we can afford him. Need Washington back - he had a great performance today. He, Holder and Williams were all in the frame for me. JWH was excellent yet again.

You can catch Royals on an off day when they don't fancy it and roll them right over. When Riders are on an off day they're right up your backside making it as hard as they can. And that there is the difference.

Plus their coach had no answers
If they had put Luol Deng on at half time they might have had a chance

Congratulations Riders - outclassed Royals. Leicester have been strong throughout the playoffs and been impressed by Washington and Ward Hibbert. But for me Williams has been the difference maker and a fantastic signing. He would be top of my shopping list for next season

Wow, delighted I didn't watch it & just checked in 3-4 times to see the score.
Congrats to Riders & Rob in particular, he is the best coach in the league at getting in the opposition's faces & grinding them down with intensive defence. Royals without Washpun are a street ball team who win games if the opposition are not conbasketball kited enough to stop their one on one play.
I don't know which is worse, having IRF being arrogant on here as Riders have won or if Royals had won & having MBA being arrogant on court!! Well we certainly won't know any time soon!
Of course IRF doesn't have too much to be arrogant about this season, 2nd in the league and only in 1 final, which of course they have won, but of course that won't stop him telling everyone how wonderful Riders are!! I can't quite believe he wants everyone back, they weren't good enough over the whole season, I'm sure Rob will be making some changes.

The Riders squad that ended the season would have won the league Saint Pat. No question. We lost the league before Williams arrived. I seriously doubt we will have Europe to distract us next season. You are only as good as your last trophy or game. We finished the season with the best team with a bit to spare. We've got the best coach. Why wouldn't I want this team back for the start of next season? Lions need to o improve just to compete now.

Have to agree, Riders played fairly well but didn't have a team against them to beat. You could hear the crowd was against Riders, probably most of them saw London in the team title and thought they'd support them. Doubt that the non Riders numbers in the crowd would equal the total crowd numbers for Royals whole seasons games.

Will Jay Williams be the Royals coach next season? I will admit i haven't watched a lot of Royals but when i have seen them they seem to rely on individual talent rather than cohesive team basketball. They were crap today.
Could a different coach get more out of this roster? Assuming the core returns next season of course.
