Awkwardly we have handed out a retired number.... Leicester did the same last season... and this season. That is a seriously depressing photo though.

Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I am aware the only number we have retired so far is 5 which was TJ Walkers number.

What about Lynard Stewart as well - didn't he also come over a couple of years ago and get a presentation? There was never anything done for Smith as far as I'm aware. Perhaps IRF can produce some more unsubstantiated rumours/conspiracy theories?

Really? Im not aware of any numbers being retired by the Riders..... #8 Still not convinced..... I attended his testimonial and can't remember his shirt being retired OR an announcement being made in the media. The fact that the club have allocated the number to another player (twice?) tends to add weight to the argument that his shirt was never actually retired. Of course..... I could be wrong.....

From the official report on his retirement by the club
"The club has only previously retired one shirt in its history, TJ Walker’s No.5. We will be retiring the Charles Smith No.10 in recognition of his achievements in what has been a golden era for the Eagles."

They must have just forgotten to do it in the end Sounded a good idea at the time though I think Maybe the coach leaving (who needs his shirt retiring as well) will remind them

We also launched a hall of fame about 8 years ago and claimed we would be inducting a player every 2 years or something. We simply ignored that after just 1 year.

Charles smiths shirt was never retired, does anyone know if Mitchell is here yet Mitchell hasn’t arrived and from what I have heard am not confident he is ever going to. Apparently there is going to be some news by the end of the week regarding this.

Not really sure what the issue is, I have heard a few things that don’t sound promising, don’t really want to say anything else until hopefully the club say something.
I agree he looked really promising, looked like a beast in the paint, big and strong and just what we needed.
Disappointed if he isn’t coming but you would have thought he’d have arrived by now if he was.
If he’s not I hope we have a similar replacement lined up, we need that big aggressive power forward/centre that we haven’t had for a while.
I hope all is revealed soon because the silence from the club so far is deafening.

Plenty of budget to spend
Surely it's going to be MBA now?

I really think all clubs have been poor this summer. Maybe the only exceptions are surrey and bristol
