Fair point. I just wouldn't expect my money back because the result was later ruled out. Can you get your money back from the Olympics because an athlete was later found to have taken drugs and was disqualified? If the game was ruled out I wouldn't expect a refund, but they're re-playing a game( which is completely ridiculous IMO) why would someone who went to the 1st game expect to pay for the 2nd one? If an athlete was disqualified, he loses his medal, they don't replay the whole event! I think the Giants are already getting stitched up enough with this one. Should their fans really expect them to put the match on for free also?

Can we get out money back for friendlies cos the result doesn't mean anything?! But you go to a friendly knowing the game means nothing, they went to what was supposed to be a competitive game(it wasn't on any level!) with a result that means something. I rarely go to friendlies because I can't be arsed about the result which takes away much of my enjoyment! What happened in the Royals v Riders game that was rained off last season? Didn't the fans who went get free tickets to go to the 2nd game?I see what you're saying, but in the example of the Royals/Riders game the paying crowd didn't get to see a full game of basketball - it was cancelled mid-game, so they all got free tickets to the re-play or another Royals fixture (their choice).

I had a skim read as well. Never realised all the rules around payments, accommodation etc. For the refs. G7 states these are settled after each game by the club and then at the end of each season the bbl performs an equalization calculation. All seems over complicated to me when any normal organisation would settle expenses centrally. Shame you don't get to see the franchise agreement for obvious reasons. I wonder if certain regions would receive more favorable terms in order to attract a club in that area.Slightly off topic, but I happened to be wondering this the other day. I suspect certain areas are seen as key to contributing towards the success of BBL, so I’d be surprised if certain franchises (new and existing) aren’t possible given some preferential treatment for the greater good of the league. For example, do we really think London United or London Capital would have been accepted into the BBL if it wasn’t for the fact that London Towers had withdrawn thus leaving the BBL without a London presence. I’d image the BBL will do whatever is reasonably necessary to keep a London team of some form in the league.

I agree entirely, I'm not suggesting that Giants foot the bill in any way.
The fine handed out to Rocks should be used to pay the officials for the new game & cover all Giants expenses, which could/should include providing free tickets to everyone who went to the first game.

Good idea for free admission but not sure you'd know who attended. I'm sure Dyb Dyb would confirm that there were at least 10000 at the game!

I believe they have to play with players that were eligible at the time. i.e. not the 3 that were ineligible. Which is a problem in itself.
If some of those eligible players happen to be injured on the new date, along with the players that weren't eligible to play, they may not have enough players to fulfil the fixture!
Not to mention if a player or two have been cut by then, making the roster even smaller.
Unlucky !

Whats wrong with quoting actual facts, nah official stats rather than trying to guestimate from a TV screen? Incidentally I have contacted Ponds Forge to get the figures on official capacity. Needless to say I think there were more than 250 at that Giants game. Admittedly there were less there for the Nix game but everyone appears to be fixated on the attendance of the Giants game. I think there were more at the Rocks game than there was at the Giants but I haven't see any numbers for that game; guestimate, official or otherwise. Interesting though that the best crowd so far was on a Friday night whereas the other games were on a Sunday afternoon.

So the Rocks aren’t happy with the ruling. And the Giants aren’t happy with the ruling. Well done BBL!

I'm amazed it's taken them this long!! I'm not. Its the last possible day they could have done it so I imagine (actually I don't - I know for a fact!) they've left it this long to consider a measured response.

And of course it affects the whole of the Northern section of the cup. Riders look like they could struggle with key players out, Giants haven't won any games yet( either actual wins or this defaulted game) and Rocks could lose this one. Phoenix's start of 0/4 should put them well out of the running but 2x games against Giants and a possible deduction for Rocks along with the win against Riders could see us end with 6/10 wins.

What are they appealing against? Nowhere does that poorly written post does it mentiom the Rocks' game.
Maybe it was written by Rocks' PR team....

Surprised this wasn’t the original outcome.

"The panel reached its conclusion based on previous precedent in the BBL, where the playing of ineligible players has resulted in a forfeit."
Honestly was that so hard first time around? Utter morons running the gaff.

Now... if the game has been invalidated do fans have a case that their ticket has been?
Also, is points differential a thing in this format? A 20-0 could potentially mess up another team come the end of qualifying.

Yeah, your ticket is now invalid. You can no longer get access to that match with that ticket. Happy?

Another team" is Phoenix as we are level, with Rocks on 2/4 and Friday's game in Glasgow will be very important.

Giants win appeal. 20-0 victory. That could probably be the only time Giants win a game by 20 points this season.

Probably for the best. I’m pretty sure the Rocks won the game by, ironically, 22! Now that would have caused a few headaches
