Week 4With a shortened week of BBL Cup action due to the Basketball All-Stars championship at the Copper Box Arena, this week’s All-Star Five comes from Friday night’s four Cup games and includes a clean sweep of debutants for this season. He completed a double-double with 11 rebounds, as well as four assists and three steals. Nick Lewis – B. WEEK 5
After a weekend of tense BBL Cup action across both the North and South groups, Plymouth’s rookie Tyrell Johnson makes his second All-Star 5 appearance, alongside four debutants for this campaign, three of whom are familiar faces.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright – Cheshire Phoenix Phoenix won the North-West derby against Manchester Giants on Friday night, led by Jackson-Cartwright’s startling near-quadruple-double performance. He posted 23 points, 11 rebounds, nine steals and eight assists in what was the performance of the season so far.
Kofi Josephs – Worcester Wolves Another match-winner from Friday night was Kofi Josephs, who was the difference-maker in a tight 104-100 victory for Worcester Wolves over Plymouth Raiders. Josephs came from the bench to shoot 5-7 (71%) from three-point range on his way to 29 points, with five rebounds, four assists and two steals. He was also clutch, scoring his team’s final six points as they turned around a deficit in the last two minutes.
Brandon Peel – London Lions Fresh from winning MVP at the Basketball All-Stars Championship a week ago, Brandon Peel has picked up his first All-Star 5 berth of the season so far, having been a regular last season. On this occasion, he drove his team on in a narrow 97-94 road defeat at Bristol Flyers, scoring 35 points on 68% shooting, to go with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Josh Wilcher – Plymouth Raiders In Plymouth’s tight road loss at Worcester on Friday, Wilcher played all 40 minutes and hit five triples on his way to 26 points, adding seven assists, five rebounds and three steals. In a duel with Josephs, he scored his team’s last eight points including a pair of three-pointers that twice put them ahead late on, albeit that they couldn’t hold on.
Tyrell Johnson – Plymouth Raiders Raiders avenged that defeat in style on Sunday when they hosted the Wolves in the return fixture, and Johnson came from the bench to make the difference in just 25 minutes of action. He racked up 17 points from just 11 shots, but also grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked four shots in an athletic all-round display.
Off the bench: Ali Fraser (Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks), Jesse Chuku (Leicester Riders), Matt Scott (London City Royals), Jalen Hayes (Cheshire Phoenix), Andy Thomson (Leicester Riders), Jordan Williams (Worcester Wolves), Fred Thomas (Bristol Flyers)

I didn't think you could get on the starting 5 if your team lost!! Looks like they've changed that stupid rule and about time too. Either that or someone's dozy and not read the BBL's protocols for the ALL STAR FIVE.

I want to see at a glance who's put really effective performances in during the week in question so insisting only winning team players can qualify is ridiculous. Glad it's been altered.

WEEK 6
Tayo Ogedengbe leads the way among four double-doubles in this week’s All-Star 5, after captaining Surrey Scorchers to their first win of the 2019-20 BBL Cup campaign. He’s joined by a rival from that game and Sheffield’s unstoppable point guard – both making their second appearance – alongside a familiar face featuring for the first time this season, and a Rider who was perfect from the field.
Tayo Ogedengbe – Surrey Scorchers The British forward, and Scorchers stalwart, led his team from the front with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 62% from the field and getting it done at both ends by adding three blocks and a steal. He scored a key bucket to put them back ahead with two minutes remaining, as they held on to beat London Lions 80-77.
Brandon Peel – London Lions Directly opposing Ogedengbe in that game was Brandon Peel, who posted his third double-double of the season with 25 points and 14 rebounds, and makes his second All-Star 5 appearance in a row. It included 11 points in the fourth quarter as Lions came from 21 points down to lead heading into the final minute on Peel’s three-pointer, albeit ultimately in vain.
Mackey McKnight – B. Braun Sheffield Sharks Also making a second appearance of the season so far is Sheffield’s point guard Mackey McKnight, who led his team to a fifth straight win on Friday night when his double-double of 20 points and 12 assists saw Sharks overpower Newcastle Eagles 93-69. He made eight of his points from the free-throw line, missing just once, and is third in the BBL for free-throws made.
Rashad Hassan – Plymouth Raiders Hassan, twice a Molten BBL Team of the Year nominee, turned in his performance of the season so far with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, adding two steals and a block, although it wasn’t enough to prevent Raiders slipping to Bristol Flyers. Hassan now leads the league in field goals made.
Jesse Chuku – Leicester Riders British forward Jesse Chuku was only the sixth player in the last 12 years, and the first in this season or last, to shoot perfectly from the field on double-figure field goal attempts as he went 10-10 on his way to 21 points as Leicester Riders beat Manchester Giants on Saturday. That came in just under 20 minutes, as he also added five rebounds.
Off the bench: Mike Tuck (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks), Tyrell Johnson (Plymouth Raiders), Matt Scott (London City Royals), Justin Robinson (London Lions), Ali Fraser (Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks), Jamell Anderson (Leicester Riders), Parker Jackson-Cartwright (Cheshire Phoenix).

Week 7
Brandon Peel makes the All-Star 5 for the third week in a row; while it is led by outstanding performances from a pair of debutant forwards in the North West, one of whom became the second BBL player in two weeks to produce a rare occurrence of perfect shooting.
Jalen Hayes – Cheshire Phoenix
Amazingly, Jalen Hayes matched Jesse Chuku’s shooting display last week by going 10-10 from the field on his way to a 24 point, 11 rebound double-double, adding four assists and three steals as Cheshire won the North West derby against Manchester Giants. Such a shooting performance had previously only occurred twice in eight years.
Del’vin Dickerson – Manchester Giants
Two nights prior to that, Del’vin Dickerson turned in a performance that sees him become the first Giant in the All-Star 5 this season. The Houston-native shot 57% from the field – including 4-8 three-pointers – to score 25 points against B. Braun Sheffield Sharks, and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright – Cheshire Phoenix
Still in the North West, Parker Jackson-Cartwright made his second All-Star 5 appearance courtesy of a performance in the derby. This time he torched Giants for 19 points, including a perfect 8-8 at the free-throw line, and added eight assists in a home victory for the Nix.
Brandon Peel – London Lions
Brandon Peel picked up where he left off to open November. He had another double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead London Lions to a road win at Plymouth Raiders. He scored eight points in a row during the key third quarter run, and 17 in total in that period that decided the game.
Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan – London Lions
Peel’s partner in crime in that game was Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan, who turned in a characteristic all-round performance with 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. In a rugged display, he got to the line eight times and made seven of those, comprising nearly half of his haul.
Off the bench: Rashad Hassan (Plymouth Raiders), Nick Lewis (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks), Darien Nelson-Henry (Leicester Riders), Mackey McKnight (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks), Gentrey Thomas (Bristol Flyers), Kyron Cartwright (Leicester Riders), Mark Hughes (Worcester Wolves).

WEEK 8
A number of teams have secured their BBL Cup Quarter Final berth over the last weekend, with all of this week’s All-Star 5 set to feature in the knockout rounds. The team includes two debutants from BBL powerhouse clubs alongside three returnees who are back after a month or so away.
John Mitchell – Newcastle Eagles Newcastle’s big man dominated Manchester Giants on Sunday to secure his first appearance, hitting 26 points in just 24 minutes on 11-14 (78%) shooting from the field, while grabbing 11 rebounds to complete an impressive double-double.
Matt Scott – London City Royals Royals’ do-it-all guard saw them through to victory over Surrey Scorchers with 22 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a block. Lewis had a weekend high 29 points, including 5-8 (62%) three-pointers, along with five rebounds, four steals and two assists.
Kyron Cartwright – Leicester Riders After making a number of appearances from the bench, Leicester’s point guard has cracked the starting five as he led the charge in Friday’s demolition of Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks. He shot 8-10 (80%) from the field on his way to 17 points, also handing out eight assists in just 24 minutes of play.
Cortez Edwards – Worcester Wolves Cortez Edwards joins Brandon Peel as the only two players to have made three appearances so far this season, and Edwards has done so after beating Peel’s London Lions on Friday night in the capital. In an all-round showing he had 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block, including drawing enough attention to provide the key assist for an open Mark Hughes to make the game-winner.
Off the bench: Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan (London Lions), Sade Aded-Hussein (Newcastle Eagles), Jamell Anderson (Leicester Riders), Connor Cashaw (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks), Jordan Williams (Worcester Wolves), James Hawthorne (Surrey Scorchers), Callum Jones (Manchester Giants).

A raft of outstanding BBL Cup performances over the weekend means that this week’s BBL All-Star 5 has produced by far the highest combined Performance Points total of the season so far. All five starters were above 30 for the first time since the opening weekend, as were the first two off the bench, with four of the five making their second appearance and Matt Scott making his third.
Greg Pryor – Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks Glasgow beat B. Braun Sheffield Sharks for a first win in five games at the Emirates Arena on Friday, as their point guard poured in 34 points on 58% shooting from the field and an amazing 12-13 (92%) at the line. Week 10
With only three teams in action this week, and as a departure from the normal rules, the All-Star 5 is drawn from just London Lions, Bristol Flyers and Surrey Scorchers. After Lions beat both Flyers and Scorchers at home, it has enabled four first time appearances alongside Molten BBL Player of the Month for October, Brandon Peel.
Brandon Peel – London Lions
Amazingly – and fitting with his start to the season – Peel had both of the top two performances this week, making his fourth appearance. First, he posted 27 points and 12 rebounds against Bristol, and then followed that with another 25 point and 11 rebound double-double against Surrey, on a combined 21-33 (64%) shooting over the two games.
James Hawthorne – Surrey Scorchers
Battling Peel stride-for-stride on Saturday night was Surrey’s James Hawthorne, who makes his first appearance in the All-Star 5 after a strong start to his rookie season. In this game, he shot 9-14 (64%) for 25 points, along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Justin Robinson – London Lions
Also making his first appearance of the season is the back-to-back Molten BBL Player of the Season, Justin Robinson. He was in near triple-double territory in the win over Surrey with 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, shooting 5-6 (83%) on the inside and a perfect 4-4 at the line.
Levi Bradley – Bristol Flyers
Bradley came from the bench as the shining light for Bristol in a tough night at the Copper Box Arena on Wednesday. The high-impact rookie American had 20 points and eight rebounds in just 22 minutes; five of those boards were offensive and he proved hard to handle as he was sent to the free-throw line for eight shots, making all of them.
Marcus White – Surrey Scorchers
Completing the list of debutants for this week is Surrey’s Marcus White, another impact American from the bench. He had 19 points, including 8-11 (72%) inside shooting in just 24 minutes, to go with four assists and three steals.
Off the bench: Skyler White (Surrey Scorchers), Alioune Tew (London Lions), Fred Thomas (Bristol Flyers), Jules Dang Akodo (London Lions), Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan (London Lions), Jorge Romero (London Lions), Raphell Thomas-Edwards (Bristol Flyers).

Week 11
The BBL Cup quarter-finals have resulted in five familiar faces making the BBL All-Star 5 for week 11, including a fascinating point guard battle as London City Royals knocked Cheshire Phoenix out at Crystal Palace.
Andrew Lawrence – London City Royals
Royals put up a century in progressing to the Cup semi-finals for the first time, and GB point guard Lawrence had a hand in half of the baskets they scored with a big double-double of 21 points and 13 assists, on 9-12 (75%) shooting including a perfect 8-8 inside. It is his third appearance of the campaign so far, in just seven games played.
Cortez Edwards – Worcester Wolves
Wolves edged a close one with Newcastle Eagles, and Cortez Edwards – making his fourth appearance – was the only player this weekend to play all 40 minutes. It was another do-it-all performance as he went for 25 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, including hitting all four of his three-point attempts, two of which came among his 10 points in a close fourth quarter.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright – Cheshire Phoenix
The 2018 Cup winners slipped out on the road at Royals, despite a determined performance from their point guard, who is in the All-Star 5 for a third time. Jackson-Cartwright had a double-double of 20 points and 13 assists, and in a captivating personal battle with his opposite number, Lawrence, he had a hand in two-thirds of his team’s baskets on the night.
Mike Morsell – Newcastle Eagles
Morsell makes his first appearance in the starting five since the opening week of the season, after leading the weekend’s scoring with 30 points on the road at Worcester, also adding seven rebounds and three steals. That included a big ‘and-one’ play to tie the game inside the last three minutes, but proved to be in vain.
Matt Scott – London City Royals
Tying Cortez Edwards for the most appearances so far this season – also a fourth along with Brandon Peel – is Matt Scott, who shot 9-13 (69%) on the inside for 19 points as Royals won at Crystal Palace. He is second in the BBL in points and steals, and on this occasion added five rebounds, four assists and three steals to his scoring tally.
Off the bench: Jordan Williams (Worcester Wolves), Gentry Thomas (Bristol Flyers), Marcus Delpeche (Bristol Flyers), CJ Gettys (Newcastle Eagles), Mackey McKnight (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks), Kyron Cartwright (Leicester Riders), Andy Thomson (Leicester Riders).

WEEK 12
The stars of the BBL saved some of their most stunning performances of this campaign so far for the opening weekend of the BBL Championship, with this week’s All-Star 5 combining for by far the highest Performance Points total to date. It includes two-time league MVP Rahmon Fletcher and NBA G-League transfer Amir Williams both going through the 40 mark.
Rahmon Fletcher – Newcastle Eagles
Newcastle made their longest road-trip of the season on Sunday, and Fletcher poured in 32 points to lead them past Plymouth Raiders. He proved impossible to handle as he got to the free-throw line 16 times, making 14 of those – the most by an Eagle in a decade – as well as adding eight assists.
Amir Williams – Worcester Wolves
On his BBL Championship debut Amir Williams posted a monster double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds as Worcester beat Surrey Scorchers on Friday. The 6’11” Michigan native – who has previously played for the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Summer League – shot 8-12 (66%) from the floor and also blocked five shots.
Kyron Cartwright – Leicester Riders
In another twice-in-a-decade effort, Cartwright handed out an amazing 19 assists in Leicester’s defeat of Plymouth on Friday night, tying Josh Wilcher who was on the other side. Week 13
In a guard-heavy All-Star 5, both Parker Jackson-Cartwright and Andrew Lawrence make their fourth appearance of the season to tie three other players at the top of that chart. They are alongside probably the offensive performance of the campaign from Sam Daniel, with three players from the same game as Orlan Jackman joins the latter two.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright – Cheshire Phoenix Jackson-Cartwright produced the two hustle plays of the year so far with a pair of steals that saw Phoenix beat Leicester Riders in overtime, but that was just the conclusion of another amazing performance as he shot 11-15 (73%) on his way to 26 points, nearing a triple-double with 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Sam Daniel – Plymouth Raiders Daniel joined Raiders recently and makes his first appearance after an unbelievable display of firepower, scoring 35 points in 30 minutes on 6-11 (54%) three-pointers, while adding eight rebounds and four steals. Amazingly, he scored 18 of Plymouth’s first 20 points in the opening five minutes as they led early on.
Andrew Lawrence – London City Royals GB International Lawrence had a double-double in seeing Royals past Plymouth on the road, scoring 21 points on an efficient 7-10 (70%) shooting, scoring all five attempts on the inside, while adding 10 assists. Royals required a huge fourth quarter comeback in that game, and Lawrence twice scored three-pointers that put them ahead inside the final three minutes.
Orlan Jackman – London City Royals Jackman led that Royals side as captain, and turned in another inspirational all-round performance to make his second All-Star 5 appearance. The British forward scored 24 points, shooting 10-15 (66%), with five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Four of those boards came at the offensive end, and a big put-back with five minutes left was a momentum play.
Kyron Cartwright – Leicester Riders Leicester’s point guard makes his second appearance in a row with another remarkable assists tally. In overtime defeat at Cheshire, he handed out 17 assists to his teammates to follow his 19 assists last week, as the BBL’s assists leader through the Cup and Championship games so far. He added seven points and six rebounds, and scored the basket that forced the extra period with just seconds to play.
Off the bench: Ben Mockford (Cheshire Phoenix), Amir Williams (Worcester Wolves), Marcus Delpeche (Bristol Flyers), Jesse Chuku (Leicester Riders), Gentrey Thomas (Bristol Flyers), Justin Robinson (London Lions), Ovie Soko (London Lions).

Week 14
Gentrey Thomas’s BBL Cup semi-final performance headlines the All-Star 5, as Bristol Flyers made it to their first BBL Cup Final at Arena Birmingham in January. His Performance Points total was matched by a pair of Newcastle big men who had near symmetry in dominant displays; while Parker Jackson-Cartwright features once more and is now the outright leader at the top of the appearances chart.
Gentrey Thomas – Bristol Flyers
Thomas proved to be the spark on Saturday as Bristol Flyers overcame London City Royals to reach the BBL Cup Final. He had a near triple-double of 21 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists, and that included two big three-pointers – one on the half time buzzer and another to cap the decisive run – that proved to be big momentum plays.
Sade Aded-Hussein – Newcastle Eagles
Newcastle’s forwards were too much for Manchester Giants to handle on Friday night, and the 6’9” Frenchman had a double-double of 18 points – on 8-11 (72%) shooting – to go with 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Four of his boards came at the offensive end with all leading to a score as Eagles had 26 second chance points.
CJ Gettys - Newcastle Eagles
Gettys partnered Aded-Hussein in the frontcourt and posted a very similar stat line as he also missed just three shots by going 9-12 (75%) on his way to 22 points; also matching his teammate’s 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Gettys rounded the performance off as eight of his points came in the final five minutes, including some thunderous dunks.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright – Cheshire Phoenix
Making his fifth appearance of the campaign, Jackson-Cartwright played all 40 minutes as Phoenix slipped to defeat in Glasgow on Sunday. The all-action point guard hit 28 points, including 11-13 (84%) at the free-throw line, with six rebounds, six steals and five assists.
Ali Fraser – Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks

Rocks came from behind in the fourth quarter, as Fraser scored six points and capped the run that put them ahead.

The final All-Star 5 of the decade is dominated by big men after some powerful performances over the holiday period, including the highest Performance Points score of the season so far for Amir Williams, while CJ Gettys and Ali Fraser make their second appearances in a row.
Amir Williams – Worcester Wolves
Williams scored on the buzzer as Wolves beat London Lions by two points on Friday night, but that was just the icing on the cake in what was the individual performance of the season for the former Memphis Grizzlies NBA Summer League man. Overall, he shot 14-18 (77%) from the field on his way to a huge double-double of 31 points and 18 rebounds, with 12 of his points coming in the fourth quarter comeback, including a pair of ‘and-one’ plays.
CJ Gettys – Newcastle Eagles
Amazingly, Gettys turned in two performances this week that would have got him in the top five for Performance Points this season. He carried the fight for his team in defeat against B. Braun Sheffield Sharks, scoring 22 points on 10-13 (76%) shooting, adding 13 rebounds, four assists and three blocks. Then in Sunday’s win over rivals Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks, he followed up with 20 points on 10-14 (71%) shooting with a huge 20 rebounds.
Ali Fraser – Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks
The Scottish big man went toe-to-toe with Gettys in that narrow defeat at the Emirates Arena, himself missing just three times as he scored 24 points on 12-15 (80%) shooting, to go with eight rebounds and three assists as he makes his fourth appearance of the season.
Rahmon Fletcher – Newcastle Eagles
From the same game, and also making his fourth appearance, is Newcastle’s point guard and former MVP Rahmon Fletcher. He shot a perfect 9-9 on the inside and 11-13 (84%) overall in scoring a game-high 26 points, while handing out eight assists. Four of those assists were for Gettys in what is arguably the best double-act in the league.
Bennett Koch – B. Braun Sheffield Sharks
Sheffield’s big man makes his first appearance of the season as he led the Sharks past Newcastle on Friday night. Koch scored 25 points after shooting 10-14 (71%) from the field and a perfect 4-4 at the line, while adding five rebounds, three steals and three blocks. He scored seven points in a row in the key run that established Sheffield’s early lead.
Off the bench: Mackey McKnight (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks), Fred Thomas (Bristol Flyers), Kofi Josephs (Worcester Wolves), Marcus Delpeche (Bristol Flyers), James Jones (Manchester Giants), Josh Ward-Hibbert (Leicester Riders), Josh Wilcher (Plymouth Raiders).

Week 16
This week’s All-Star 5 is an eclectic mix following a week of Championship, Cup and Trophy action which produced the highest collective Performance Points total for the starting five. It includes CJ Gettys with the highest individual Performance Points tally for a player this season and Matt Scott now in the joint-lead for total appearances, alongside a triple-double, and a non-BBL player.
CJ Gettys – Newcastle Eagles
Making his third appearance in a row, Gettys proved far too much for Scottish league side Dunfermline Reign to handle. The seven-footer scored 31 points on 13-18 (72%) inside shooting, adding 19 rebounds. Ten of his points came from his nine offensive boards, as did one of his five assists. He also made his presence felt defensively, with five blocked shots.
Matt Scott – London City Royals
The Brooklyn native makes his fifth appearance after inspiring London City Royals to a successful start in defence of the BBL Trophy. He posted the highest points tally of any player this season as he poured in 42, including hitting 5-10 (50%) three-pointers and 11-12 (91%) at the line. Scott completed a double-double as the league’s best rebounding guard with a huge 16 boards, adding five assists.
Making his first appearance, the sharpshooting Italian-American came from the bench to have a career night and finish with a triple-double against Dunfermline. He shot 7-12 (58%) three-pointers on his way to 30 points, tying the most made triples by a player this season, with 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Maxime Djo Ebala – Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks
The French big man makes his first appearance since the second week of the season after coming from the bench to dominate Basketball Wales on Sunday. In just 23 minutes he had a huge double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds, shooting 10-13 (76%), while also dominating the defensive paint with three blocked shots. With Wales leading early on, he had eight of his points within four minutes of coming on to put Rocks up for good.
Travis Charles – Team Solent Kestrels
The NBL Division 1 leaders knocked out the reigning BBL champions, London Lions, in the Trophy first round led by American forward Travis Charles. He shot 12-18 (66%) inside and grabbed 14 rebounds to complete a double-double, adding three blocks and three assists. Kestrels were fast out of the gate and never looked back, with Charles scoring eight points in their first quarter spell.
Off the bench: David Ulph (Manchester Giants), Ingus Bankevics (Manchester Giants), James Hawthorne (Surrey Scorchers), Cortez Edwards (Worcester Wolves), Jonathan Lashley (Team Solent Kestrels), Alex Owumi (Worthing Thunder), Dominic Ives (Worthing Thunder).

Week 17
The stars of the BBL are going through the gears as the BBL Championship season picks up pace. A glittering All-Star 5 this week is dominated by some of the top performers, as big man CJ Gettys proves immovable and Ovie Soko makes his first appearance of the campaign.
CJ Gettys – Newcastle Eagles Amazingly, the Molten BBL Player of the Month for December makes his fourth consecutive appearance after dominating Surrey Scorchers on Saturday night. The seven-footer scored 34 points on 70% shooting from the field, and completed a huge double-double with 19 rebounds. He now leads the league in scoring, and is second on the boards.
Ovie Soko – London Lions The GB International forward and Love Island star turned in his best performance of the season when it mattered, leading his Lions to victory in the capital city derby at the Copper Box. On the same day that the new series of Love Island hit our TV screens, Soko netted 32 points on 73% shooting, and was too much to handle as he made 8-10 at the free-throw line. He added nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.
Cortez Edwards – Worcester Wolves Not wanting to be outshone, Cortez Edwards has now joined two others at the top of the overall appearances chart this season, making his fifth. And he did it in style with a triple-double as Worcester beat Cheshire, notching 16 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. The do-it-all guard meant business from the outset as he recorded five of his assists in a dominant first quarter that set up the victory, as Wolves sought revenge for being knocked out of the Trophy the previous week.
Justin Robinson – London Lions The two-time league MVP also turned in a big performance in the London derby, hitting 6-10 three-pointers on his way to 26 points, adding six assists and four steals. Lions trailed at the half, but a pair of quick-fire triples from the GB International point guard early in the third quarter tied the game and they never looked back from there, finishing with a double-digit margin.
Fred Thomas – Bristol Flyers The BBL Cup finalists are now in the BBL Trophy quarter-finals after Bristol beat Leicester Riders for the first time since joining the BBL, spanning 18 meetings over more than five years. Thomas shot 66% from the floor and 5-7 (71%) three-pointers on his way to 27 points, adding six rebounds, two steals and two blocks. That included a decisive 11 points in a row for his team after Riders had tied the game in the fourth quarter.
Off the bench: Skyler White (Surrey Scorchers), Gentrey Thomas (Bristol Flyers), Dante Thorpe (Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks), Mark Hughes (Worcester Wolves), Demonte Flannigan (Cheshire Phoenix), Terrell Vinson (Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks), Mike Ochereobia (Cheshire Phoenix).

Week 18
CJ Gettys has made it an amazing five weeks in a row in the All-Star 5, this time joined by two debutants including his teammate Drew Lasker, in a team that is paced by Surrey’s captain Tayo Ogedengbe and includes Ovie Soko for the second straight week.
Tayo Ogedengbe – Surrey Scorchers Scorchers moved to 4-3 in the BBL Championship as they beat Plymouth Raiders on Saturday, behind Ogedengbe matching his career-high points total. Playing all 40 minutes, he scored 34 points, shooting 64% from the field and getting to the line 12 times as he proved too much to handle. He added five rebounds and four assists, scoring 10 of his points in the fourth quarter to stifle any Plymouth fightback.
CJ Gettys – Newcastle Eagles Newcastle’s seven-footer is now tied at the top of the appearances chart for the season, but with all five of his having coming in consecutive weeks. On this occasion he was too much for Manchester Giants as he shot 13-17 (76%) from the field on his way to 28 points, completing a double-double with 12 rebounds and adding three assists.
Drew Lasker – Newcastle Eagles From the same game, Drew Lasker rolled back the years as he was required to play increased minutes amidst some absences. The 37-year-old guard did a bit of everything for his team as he put up 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for another double-double, handing out five assists with two steals and two blocks. Six of those boards were at the offensive end, resulting in six of Newcastle’s 14 second chance points.
Skyler White – Surrey Scorchers White is a second Scorcher to make the team after he put in two big performances over the weekend. In defeat to London Lions on Friday he matched his captain’s points tally as he had a massive double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds, including shooting 5-10 three-pointers. The following night, he added another three triples en route to a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds in victory over Plymouth.
Ovie Soko – London Lions Also putting in a pair of big performances was London’s GB International forward Ovie Soko, as the league leaders beat Surrey and B. Braun Sheffield Sharks. In a road win at Sheffield he had a big double-double of 23 points, on 10-14 (71%) shooting, and 11 rebounds, with 10 of his points coming in a dominant first quarter that enabled Lions to hold off a fightback. On Friday, he had 27 points as his team beat Scorchers at the Copper Box Arena.
Off the bench: Demonte Flannigan (Cheshire Phoenix), Maarten Bouwknecht (Worcester Wolves), Kyron Cartwright (Leicester Riders), Ali Fraser (Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks), Mark Hughes (Worcester Wolves), Leslee Smith (Plymouth Raiders), Justin Robinson (London Lions).

Week 19
Fittingly, this week’s All-Star 5 is led by BBL Cup Final MVP Amir Williams after Worcester Wolves beat Bristol Flyers in front of a record crowd of 9,244 at Arena Birmingham on Sunday, live on BBC Sport. He stars alongside a couple of match-winning American guards, and a pair of season-best performances that lead to debuts despite defeat.
Amir Williams – Worcester Wolves The 6’11” American centre turned in one of the best individual displays in Cup Final history as he led Worcester Wolves to their maiden Cup success. The former Memphis Grizzlies NBA Summer League player shot 73% from the field en route to a double-double of 23 points – including scores in the decisive runs as Wolves’ go-to man – and 13 rebounds, adding five blocks to dominate the paint at both ends.
Greg Pryor – Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks Rocks remain second in the BBL Championship after sweeping aside Surrey Scorchers at Emirates Arena on Friday, and the American guard led the way with 29 points on 61% shooting, including 4-6 (66%) three-pointers. He added nine rebounds, three assists and two steals, while sitting for just three minutes in the game.
Connor Cashaw – B. Braun Sheffield Sharks Despite a big second half, Sharks couldn’t overcome Newcastle Eagles on Friday, although Cashaw turned in his best display of the season so far to make a first All-Star 5 appearance. He had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, also contributing two assists, a steal and a block, with seven of those points coming in Sheffield’s third quarter fightback.
Rahmon Fletcher – Newcastle Eagles Newcastle’s point guard played all but 28 seconds of that game with Sheffield, scoring over a third of his team’s points to send them into the BBL Trophy semi-finals. He shot 10-16 (62%) from the field and 7-8 (87%) at the line on his way to 30 points, adding nine assists; and it was he who scored five straight points in a key run after Sharks tied the game in the fourth quarter.
Devontavius Payne – Surrey Scorchers Surrey’s guard almost matched his adversary stride-for-stride in Friday’s game at Emirates Arena, hitting 27 points on 11-15 (73%) shooting and equalling Pryor’s 4-6 from three-point range. He added four rebounds, three assists and two steals for his best performance of the campaign so far and a debut All-Star 5 appearance.
Off the bench: Ali Fraser (Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks), Tayo Ogedengbe (Surrey Scorchers), Alex Owumi (Worthing Thunder), Darius Defoe (Newcastle Eagles), Ian Smith (Solent Kestrels), Brendan Okoronkwo (Solent Kestrels), Nick Lewis (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks).

Week 20
Gentrey Thomas and Parker Jackson-Cartwright lead the BBL All-Star 5 for week 20 after a fascinating personal duel over double-overtime on Saturday night, won by the former while seeing the latter take the outright lead for most appearances so far this season.
Gentrey Thomas – Bristol Flyers As Bristol prevailed through a double-overtime thriller, Thomas played 46 minutes and posted a game-winning double-double of 32 points and 16 rebounds, along with five assists, two steals and two blocks. He shot 65% from the field and made 4-6 (66%) three-point attempts, one of which helped Flyers level the first overtime period, while he also made a decisive ‘and-one’ play that effectively settled the game with 15 seconds left.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright – Cheshire Phoenix Almost matching Thomas stride-for-stride that night was Cheshire’s point guard, who makes his sixth appearance in the All-Star 5, the most of any player this season. He had a near triple-double of 31 points, 11 assists and seven steals, shooting 8-11 (72%) inside and 9-10 at the line, to compensate for his three-point shot not dropping on the night.
Ali Fraser – Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks Making his fifth appearance of the season, the Scottish big man played all 40 minutes at Emirates Arena on Friday. The Rocks slipped to defeat despite Fraser’s double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, while he also showed a great passing touch to add six assists.
Jalen Hayes – Cheshire Phoenix Cheshire bounced back with a Sunday night win in a double-header weekend, inspired by Jalen Hayes off the bench. Sheffield couldn’t handle the American forward as he had 28 points in just 27 minutes, including making 11-13 (84%) at the free-throw line as he drew eight fouls. He added eight rebounds and two assists, and scored his team’s last six points to hold off a late comeback.
Amir Williams – Worcester Wolves Two of the BBL’s premier big men matched up as Worcester overcame Newcastle Eagles on Friday night, with Amir Williams getting the better of CJ Gettys on this occasion. He had a double-double of 14 points – on just nine field goal attempts – and 11 rebounds, adding two assists and three blocks, with two of those being on his rival Gettys.
Off the bench: Mike Ochereobia (Cheshire Phoenix), CJ Gettys (Newcastle Eagles), Ovie Soko (London Lions), Mackey McKnight (B. Braun Sheffield Sharks), Jordan Williams (Worcester Wolves), Leslee Smith (Plymouth Raiders), Levi Bradley (Bristol Flyers)
