As a football metaphor 'game of two halves' Having said that Eagles threw it away with some poor shooting, bad decision making and way too many fouls. Summed up by Glasgow Jr throwing an air ball with 20 seconds left. Sheffield look a good team though, as long as Backovic doesn't play 😂

Only caught a few minutes whilst watching footie. One thing that caught my eye was the number of fouls that Eagles were picking up. I wondered/hoped that it might come to bite them later in the game.
Since then I've caught up on social media after watching the game back into the early hours.
Not sure if it was the Eagles who threw it away or Sharks stepping up. Any way up I'd be disappointed if my team gave up a 17 point lead one way or another.
I've seen some grumbles about the foul count, there was the odd comment also made by the commentators, but to be fair they did try to balance comments out. I can remember one comment when summarising what the sharks needed to do to get back into the game (double digits down at this time,) and they referred to the sharks D having to step up. The reason they had so few fouls against them was that they were letting Eagles get to the basket way too easily, hence the big lead whilst Sharks offered very little D and therefore weren't fouling.
As I say, I suppose it depends on where you're sitting, Eagles wasnt able to score and Sharks chipped away at that lead.
Fouls? Was Nick fouled taking that 3 which if given would have won the game for the Sharks in normal time. I've certainly seen them given.
Sharks vs Eagles all again next week. Should be a cracker; whoever wins.

Spot on Stevetino. Sheffield hung around and deserved their win, but this was one which Eagles threw away with poor discipline, poor choices, poor execution and frankly ineffective coaching in Q4 and OT. I would get them all this morning and make them watch the 2nd half video ten times. The only comfort is that due to injuries and Glasgow’s passport we have yet to see the full squad in action. Which begs two questions, namely Morsell’s fitness status and Glasgow’s passport timetable. Interesting to watch this game Sharks short roster will cost them as season goes on if they don't add to it. Can't sustain just 6 players being effective over a full season. Need another quality player to support Koch who is impressive. Definitely should cut Backovic who brings nothing to the team. Can't see them winning anything this season if they don't add. I see them and Riders now as top 2 in North group Eagles - very disappointing. 2nd home game they've collapsed in 3rd quarter. Even more disappointing was way they folded even after building lead back up in 4th. I understand Morsell played in practice all week - they look a lot poorer without him. As others have said I don't think playing 2 very small guards together in Fletcher and Glasgow works. Sharks showed in 2nd half how to deal with them - crowd them out and press. As a result in last 4 minutes Eagles completely went to pieces - too slow & too casual. Don't see them winning anything this season. Schlitzer showed poor shot selection and missed easy shots in final minutes just like in last home game. Hope he doesn't turn out to be as"effective" as last Surrey player that Eagles signed. Personally thought there were bad ref calls against both teams at time particularly from one of the refs. As seen today, Riders take action pretty quickly and can be ruthless in changing roster for better - Eagles have been opposite over last few years, apart from when they got rid of the Reverend Ricky. It will not be a quick process getting Glasgow's British passport in current climate unfortunately. They need to play Morsell and decide which one of the other imports to deregister in short term. I don't think Mitchell should be one of them!

We only beat Giants and Nix because they are poor and will finish bottom of the league... Honestly, we still have Bouna N'Diaye to get into full fitness, we have recently lost Sedale who as quit basketball. He definitely needs replacing. The lack of minutes from these 2 might also explain why Backovic I'd getting so many. I should imagine when N'Diaye plays more minutes , Backovic will have less. What I don't really understand is that we still have a trailest on the bench. Surely his trail should be up? His is good enough? If so, play him, if not, look else where. Other than that it must be a development move. Would we be better having a player that can play minutes on court now?

Apparently the French rugby lads have been taking lessons in game management from the Eagles......how to blow a commanding first half lead and lose at the death.

All credit to Atiba and the Sharks for hanging in and getting the job done but if I was an Eagles fan I’d be furious with the decision making by Fletcher and Glasgow down the stretch. If they slowed the game down on the orders of Mcleod then he’s not done the team any favours. The urgings of Forrester on the side-lines made it look like they wanted the guards to speed things up but they were content to try and run the clock down which backfired spectacularly.
With Fab at the helm I don’t think Eagles throw this one away
For Sharks the form / fitness of Nfiaye and the continued presence of Backovic on court are a concern but there does look to be a decent 6 man rotation that in this league will win more than it loses - provided they can stay healthy.

With Fab at the helm I don’t think Eagles throw this one away - to be fair the game reminded me of the Cup match against Cheshire 2 or 3 years ago when Eagles threw away a double digit lead in the last 3 minutes, and Fab was both at the helm and on court for that one.
It can happen to any team, but this Eagles team and its coaching staff need to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Got round to watching this over the weekend, and it certainly made for some exciting/interesting viewing! Just a few points, to come back from 3 separate 15 point deficits speaks volumes about the character of the team, frankly I can't recall the last time I saw that, so this definitely deserves recognition. I like us using the 7 man rotation, even when Ndiaye clearly hasn't recovered from his knee injury (we went into a zone every time he was on the floor). Again still not completely sold on Cashaw yet, but that was clearly his best performance so far and showed enough to make me think he could end up being a nice edition. Last couple of things, can someone please tell Mcknight he's wearing one of the junior Sharks pairs of shorts, and watching Tuck deliberately winding up the Geordies at the end when that 3 was waved off in OT was priceless - they sounded pissed haha Oh and that play at the end of regulation was a ****ing joke. No ifs, buts or maybes, that was a foul clear as day. The simple fact was, the refs swallowed their whistle because none of them had the balls to make a call that would obviously have decided the outcome of the game. Absolutely pathetic. Letting a tippy tappy foul go, or even a 50/50 call under the basket is fine, but a clear as day hammering on the 3 point line with nothing to hide it? GTFO with that ****.

Fair play to Tuck like Retsek giving it the big one when anybody with half a brain had heard the whistle, I was just laughing at him poncing about 🤣🤣 Kudos Sheffield tho like you say for the comeback, fair play 👏
