This could be the last live game of BBL basketball for some time so enjoy it folks. Losing Morsell et al may just create the fire in the belly that Eagles need to go out and win this final. Odds are that they won't but I hope we get a proper contest whoever wins.

Win or lose, I have to say that I really don’t think this game (or any other games this weekend) should be played. But since it is on I will be boggling on the box, cheering like mad for Newcastle and hoping that everyone has a great time and stays safe and well.
I really hope that tomorrow the BBL suspend all future games. It will be crap for clubs who will lose hate receipts, but must be the right thing to do.

Had tickets for the game but decided not to travel as one of our group is nearly 70 with underlying health risks. Sad not to make it but felt it was better to air on the side of caution.
Expecting Eagles will take the loss, which was probably a good chance even before the players departed. But with a 6-7 man rotation & all training preparations null & void I think defeat is inevitable.
Will be interesting to see what the atmosphere will be like - hope the ‘occasion’ isn’t ruined, especially for Solent.
Hope everyone can stay safe.

BBC radio sports bulletin focusing specifically on the fact that there is virtually no sport on today. Mentioned rugby league, badminton bit nothing about BBL trophy final.....is there no hope for our sport in this country!!! On a day where they are scraping the barrel we still don’t get a mention!

Everyone needs to remember that none of the governments are saying they are trying to prevent the virus from passing to people.
They know they can't do that long term. They all estimate 60 to 80 per cent of us will get this this year. If that makes 60 to 80 per cent of us immune next year brilliant. We don't know for sure it will though.
The actions being taken are just trying to spread it over time if possible.
Estimates are that UK will hit the peak in about 10 weeks time
Obviously nobody wants to get this but most of us will
Now's not the worst time to catch it tbh. 7 to 12 weeks time would be the worst time to catch it.
If anyone thinks they can live their life so remotely they can avoid it altogether then good luck to them.
I understand the over 70s may be able to with outside help and it would make sense for them to try to do so.
Looks like they will al be asked to quarantine in due course.
I say all the above because if I was going to the match today I would still go (UNLESS - I was over 60 ish I think)
If I was that age I would be staying inside the house and in the garden next 3 to 4 months. They are going to miss watching sport on TV though!

Most people assuming all sport would have been cancelled by now presumably

As far as the game goes I'm expecting a titanic effort from Fletch and Gettys (assuming he is playing) and Eagles to just edge a thriller

Or he may be pleased he's not in that. There will be flights for US citizens after Monday. And it's not as if Eagles will abandon him. Dave F now has a spare room after your hero got an NBA deal

Well, I for one hope Eagles aren't the winners but I wouldn't bet against them.

Unless there's teams in Clitheroe, Penistone or Wetwang then nope There is one in Clitheroe actually but there didn't go with the towns name. The clit bashers would have been fantastic.

Coming up at half time in the BBL Trophy Final game - Dan Routledge interviews BBL Chair Sir Rodney Walker regarding coronavirus and the remainder of the BBL season. Apparently it’s recommended listening.

See if the camera at the Trophy final is the usual BBL automated pish. I’m putting my foot through the TV. Not been able to watch a full game of basketball this season without feeling seasick and like the world is jaundice yellow.

Looks like being underdogs might be suiting eagles. Backs to the wall etc.

I don't see why people are worrying about Newcastle, they'll still win with plenty in the tank to spare.
