Reality is he’s getting so many reps at worthing that it can only be good for him
Very unlikely he will make the final 12 but an excellent move to introduce him to the camp before he goes off to the states. A rare example of long term thinking.
But why do we still have an acting head coach? If Nate can’t make games when the g league is not running when precisely can he? The whole situation is surely becoming untenable

I'm not sure how many minutes he'd get in the BBL. He's better off leading a D1 team for a year.
I'd just finished writing about Nate, great minds obviously think alike

I’m really hoping that Steutel had a say in this roster decision and he’s not just inheriting a group that was picked by Nate. Really glad for Cam. It’s good to see him recognised, realistically I can’t see him making the 12, or getting court time if he does make the 12, but a great way to introduce him into the system on a senior level. I’ll be interested to see Ben Lawson partake in this, loved being able to see him in Memphis’ summer league team. It’s also genuinely exciting to know there are guys omitted here who could be included. I’m shocked that there are so many ‘free agents’. Are they going to be as sharp in games?

if he’s not with the Lions until January I wouldn’t have expected him to go play with GB either

I would love to see Cam get some game time in the BBL. Probably unlikely I know. But surely that would be better preparation for playing for GB than playing in NBL. There are massive demands on his time at his age as he’s still in education. Where would he play Lions / Scorchers a massive commitment to travel train and play in BBL. Early days but I suspect there are a number of teams at the moment that would be embarrassed by some NBL div 1 teams. Would he get any better coaching than what he’s currently getting? I think he justified quite eloquently his decision not to join an EABL academy in his hoopsfix interview. Me thinks he’s making some sound decisions.

Squad of 14 confirmed:
Dan Clark, Ashley Hamilton, Myles Hesson, Cameron Hildreth, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye, Ben Mockford, Luke Nelson, Teddy Okereafor, Gabe Olaseni, Rex Pflueger, Tarik Phillip, Kareem Queeley, Conner Washington, Akwasi Yeboah.
It’s a bit small? Would have liked to see Ben Lawson or Kavell make the cut. Not sure on some of those guard selections ahead of Robinson either.

Given the lack of size, you might have expected Lawson and Kavell over the two young guards (Queeley and Hildreth). Especially when we have an abundance of guards ahead of them.

I may have missed this but does anyone know why Soko is apparently unavailable? He's based in France isn't he?!

Theres a few players (and i could be massively wrong) who never seem that bothered to travel. Whereas guys like hesson and clark give everything every international break.
On soko he only has like 10caps? Crazy how little he has played for GB.

It would be interesting to know how the team is selected and by who Me too. And whether those absent are so by selection or choice. Certainly sounds like Soko is absent by choice, which isn't a huge surprise.

On a more positive note, GB v France will be live and free on the FIBA YouTube channel:

Just a bump as a reminder for today's game - 5pm UK time...
And some stats: * Group G is evenly poised as all four teams – France, Germany, Great Britain, and Montenegro – have a 1-1 record. * Germany take one of the qualifying slots by default as host nation of EuroBasket2022 (I still think this is unfair to others in this group comparted to other groups!). * France are ranked 6th in the world, and GB are ranked 42nd in the world - according to FIBA (Germany are ranked 18th and Montenegro 26th). * This will be the first time GB have played France since FIBA EuroBasket 2013. * The last time Great Britain beat France was 32 years ago during the 1988 European Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Do not understand these rotations at all. We are struggling for height so he brings on mockford and rex? Starts yeboah to bring him off after 90 seconds?
This could really ugly really ****ing quick.
