After 7 months of reading about the game.... 4th place in EuroBasket is no joke, but I don't remember hearing it in the news. If the Lionesses, Red Roses or Vitality Roses are playing in a tournament the BBC will make sure we all know about it. GB Women however..

Yes that's an unusual position to take for a new fan to the sport Chester? You are spot on. 4th place was a great result. Was it women's basketball specifically that got you interested in the sport for the first time this year?

Was it women's basketball specifically that got you interested in the sport for the first time this year? Connor I have always loved sport, specifically team sports. As a child I played football and basketball, moving onto rugby which I played as long as I could. I have 2 daughters. One plays rugby in the team that I coach. The other plays netball. They also do dancing. I have become interested in women's elite sport, I think partly though the BBC and Sky Sports promoting it but also because I have daughters not sons. But I have noticed that basketball has been forgotten. Basketball is the second biggest sport in the world and the second biggest sport in Europe, and our ladies came fourth. That is a bigger achievement than a bronze medal at the netball world cup (out of the only 3 countries in the world with an elite netball league we came third, at home. That's like last). In Britain basketball is a forgotten sport. And there is also sexism against women's basketball. There are YouTube videos and even channels that basically attack the WNBA. There is a group of people that hate women's basketball to the extent that they make videos about how awful the WNBA is. And loads of people watch them and leave sexist comments. A community of people who hate women's basketball. I like the WNBA.

Well you and Hersey should have some interesting discussions. He's a big fan and supporter of women's basketball but (and I have to include myself in this) less so of the other game that you seemed to enjoy.........

After 7 months of reading about the game.... And so the snide remarks against a new poster begin. Didn’t think it would be long before you started the belittling of someone who has clearly done their research. You are the reason many people don’t bother to post on here. You already know that though, don’t you?

I can think of at least 6 people (including me) in my short tenure on here. You’re perceived as a toxic bitter little man. I have met you and you seemed an ok guy- maybe lockdown has been hard, maybe it’s just the internet where people all become grotesque characatures of our real selves? Why not be kind, be nice to people. It’s British Basketball- it’s not important -it should be fun, be banter not bile, bitterness and hate

Ah, my $talker. With the possible exception of made up tales about Lions, i suspect you've spent more time on here moaning about me than writing about basketball. Ypur last sentence is brilliantly ironic. You claim to hace met me, and clearly have issues with me. You could always pm me directly rather than bellaching on here.

Dave- I do t have issues with you per se - I just don’t like bullies even internet basketball kits or bullies. I’ve only had a little dig at you in response to you being nasty to other people. Happy to chat via DM if you want to 👍🏼

I, on the other hand, have better things to do with my time than to spend hours engaging with an internet bully. I just thought I would draw attention to your regular pastime of attacking new posters and questioning their right to comment on something. It seems to have rattled your cage, but bullies don’t like being challenged, so no surprises there. I don’t know you, I have never knowingly met you and you don’t know me. Perhaps you are a really good bloke away from the keyboard. Your online persona requires a little refining though - it’s not particularly endearing. What ever makes you happy, I guess.

Standout moment for me was maybe 6mins ti go in the third.. 3 quick fouls against the girls in maybe 1 possession zero points conceded... steal the ball and they force poland to commit the technical foul.
Thats a big win!

I would love to see Cam get some game time in the BBL. Probably unlikely I know. But surely that would be better preparation for playing for GB than playing in NBL.

I said before the season started that I thought Cam was better served spending another year in the NBL but having watched all their games so far I think he might have been better off stepping up, Worthing so far have looked so poor and disjointed and it’s just ended up being a lot of ISO’s for Cam as that’s the only way they’ve been scoring I think he’d have been better served getting less minutes and shots up but fitting into a role more Either way though I think the bulk of his development will be done in America so spending this year dropping 30’s on a regular basis shouldn’t hurt him in the long run
