Richyy, does this mean we're now in the qualification tournament for the 2023 world cup? I know you were asking someone else but I looked up Wikipedia (Yes, I know it's unreliable) and according to the Qualification we're in the Third Round Yeah, my understanding is we're one of 24 teams who will go into 6x4 team groups with the top two in each qualifying. But trust Richyy more than wiki i imagine the WC dates are 11/21, 2/22 & 11/22 while EuroBasket will be in September 2022. We might be able to get on a plane by then.....

I do hope Brenda and her army have renewed their passports Dave I think that would be a great idea!! Hopefully by then we'll be able to leave the UK without having to jump through a whole series of non basketball hoops. 11 years after Brendas Army Lithuania adventure, I've missed singing the signature tune!! Although I'm not sure I'm capable of drinking that much alcohol anymore!

Jeremy Sochan with 18/3/1 on his debut for Poland Sigh Well we do have Cameron Hildreth who chose to play for GB and we left him at home. Not a bad word to say about GB who got the job done this weekend, but Hildreth should have been involved.

What is the story with Sochan? I understand he was raised here but represents Poland, but from a GB Perspective how has he slipped through the net?

Cam isn’t ready to be put in to such an important game Disagree. He's that talented. Already better than Lautier-Ogunleye. Better than Jacob Round. Teddy is more experienced but he's already better. Mockford fills a much needed specialist role in shooting along with the experience, but Hildreth is still better. As the BBL production so far has proved. Not sure how you can say he isn't ready to make the 12 man roster so he can wet his feet and start to get the experience. You just pointed out Sochan started for Poland and produced a nice stat line. But Hildreth isnt ready?

Hildreth may or may not be ready but his BBL statistics are not going to win the argument
3 games : 10ppg 8/16 twos, 1/10 threes. 11-19 foul line (57%) : 3rebs, 2 ass, 1 to.

But Hildreth isnt ready? Cam has played 3 BBL games and one of those he struggled in, he’s super talented but right now not better than DLO or Teddy, also Sochan wasn’t playing in a must win game, and is probably more suited/ready for international level basketball at this point

I get the hype with Cam but it goes overboard imo, let him go to college before we start saying he’s better than players who play regular minutes in better leagues than the BBL/NBL D1

Regardless, my argument is more that he should be on the 12 man roster not if he is better than the starting point guard, who I must point out was woeful Vs Germany.

Teddy was playing big minutes and contributing in the Greek league last year Ben has played at a good level his whole career and has shot the ball well his whole career too

Not doubting what they've done. I just would have liked to see Hildreth fill a roster spot and get some experience now. It's never too early considering we are now in EuroBasket 2022 and after a year at Wake Hildreth might be our best guard.
Unless we think Jacob Round and Lautier are more realistic guys to lead us in the backcourt at EuroBasket.

Jeremy Sochan with 18/3/1 on his debut for Poland Sigh The Scrubb brothers who are currently playing for Canada have British passports! As does Joe Ingles! It can work both ways.

Cam has 0 chance of being better than Luke in a years time You are overrating him massively I’m gonna stop posting now as we’ll never agree and I don’t want to seem like I’m hating on Cam but you’re talking rubbish

Ok. I'll rephrase that. He might be one of our best guards.
If you think that is unreasonable then okay. You roll into EuroBasket with Teddy and Ben.

So you’ll ‘rephrase it’ by completely changing what you said in its entirety? Then give a snarky comment about something I’ve not given my opinion on like you’re proving me wrong?

Not really completely changing it am I. Since you want to take everything so literally I am rephrasing it to 'I think Hildreth will be better than every guard currently on the roster in a year's time except Luke Nelson'. Wasn't being snarky either. Maybe you are being a tad sensitive? It was you who said I was talking 'rubbish' remember.
