Well played by Raiders, without Hamilton and Ibeh - a big blow out despite the long travel

Raiders looked easy. Didnt enjoy watching that game. Abysmal on defence and just leaving opwn shooters. Very little if any positives to be had. Gareths first play of the night was good🤔

Rocks have been garbage this season, 2 wins in 15 games is unacceptable, appointing Gareth was a big mistake.
A change of coach is required and I mean that as no disrespect to Gareth as its clearly not working out for him.

He's done really well to make them as competitive as they have been this season. They have a really young, inexperienced team and have been better than I expected them to be this season. They've given some good teams a bloody nose on a few occasions this year. You've got to give the bloke a chance to build something. Surely no one expected the Rocks to do better than this?

Duncan got it absolutely wrong this season. He's been unwilling or unable to spend the money to make his franchise finish in the playoffs positions and I never thought I'd see a Rocks team finish bottom of the BBL but here we are. He's lurched from one disaster to the next since the binning of Sterling.

He's lurched from one disaster to the next since the binning of Sterling. Not a huge fan of Duncan's personally. But a couple of notes on what you've said here. First of all I wouldn't call the Lavandier period at the Rocks a disaster at all. They were top of the league last year before everything ended abruptly and who knows what would've happened had the dreaded C word not hit. As for not spending money this year, we're in the middle of a pandemic where the main income source for a basketball club has essentially been turned off. I'm actually surprised at the level that's been spent on players by the majority of the league this year and didn't expect the standard to be so high. I really don't think you can have a go at an owner for cutting their cloth accordingly?!? Also, from what I understand the Rocks are under much more strict guidelines with regards to how often they can't train etc. Surely at least for this season they deserve a pass?

Lavandier was looking like our best coach in a while
As for Gareth, of course you can't expect instant results but I saw it with the Glasgow (Braehead at that point) Clan who brought in a rookie as coach by promoting one of the players after the previous coach left to take up a job back home. Much like Gareth he struggled, eventually the rookie Clan coach got replaced by someone with a lot more experience and they ended up winning a trophy. I was at Rocks games for the duration of the 2012/13 after my Clan season ticket seat was sold 3 times during 2011/12.
And how can you say Gareth has done well to make them competitive when they are Rock bottom with 2 wins from 15. The Rocks usually finish higher up the league, I mean the last time they finished outside the top 5 was back in 2013/14.

My reasoning for saying he's done well so far is that it was pretty widely agreed before the season started that the Rocks had the weakest squad. That, coupled with the tougher restrictions on training he's had to deal with in his FIRST YEAR as a coach means it's been a less than ideal start. I've got no real skin in the game here, I was just surprised that people are willing to write him off at such an early stage when the above are taken in to account.

I think Gareth’s done a great job with what’s been going on. Be mad to have anyone different, I think he will be a great coach, surely he deserves time to create a body of work. Early on in the season his coaching kept them competitive in games where they were really weak.

Gareths had to adapt to such difficult scenarios. This will give him a base to develop as a coach. I see what i feel G has as his playing style its just some of the players unable to do it. Excited to see what Gareth can do with a potential normal off season and a normal budget

Unfortunately Gareth's problem is that he's still one ( the best) player in the team. I suspect he'd love to play 5-10 minutes a game and watch and coach the rest of the time. His choice play a lot and maintain a creditable score line or not? Wonder how much time with his team he lost by being included in the GB squad? Offhand don't think he was used for more than a couple of minutes in the two games. Time to step away from GB? Actually with no games for them till next year his decision made be made for him by the seiectors.
