Full details are in the article www.mvp247.com/2021/04/playoffs-neutral-venues/"League sources confirmed Newcastle will host all four single-leg quarter-finals of the WBBL playoffs on May 1 and 2 with the Vertu Arena also the venue for the opening legs of the two-legged BBL last eight ties on May 3 and 4. Worcester will stage the second legs of the BBL quarter-finals on May 5 and 6. The University Arena will additionally be the site of both WBBL semis on May 7."

I am not a fan of two legs for basketball matches. It does not work well at all. I've got to say I did like the NBA's play in last season where the higher seed needed to win only 1 of 2 games to progress. Still keeps some of the single elimination jeopardy but weighted in favour to the higher seeded team. I suspect that would not be very practical in the BBL due to financial constraints of having to organise a game that may not take place.
Hats off to the BBL and NBL D1 for looking like they will complete seasons in the most trying of circumstances. SKY don't always get it right but them televising games again has been a real shot in the arm in my opinion and hopefully the BBL don't do something crazy like ditching them this time....

Yep. I was going from Mark’s original post
Which tbh makes a lot more sense to me than the new configuration. (Plymouth and Bristol travelling to Newcastle for a first leg, potentially against each other?)

"the Vertu Arena also the venue for the opening legs of the two-legged BBL last eight ties on May 3 and 4."

"Worcester will stage the second legs of the BBL quarter-finals on May 5 and 6."
How does this make the original post wrong?

You missed the bit about driving up the A1 between polishing the ball and putting it in the cabinet...

Totally agree. No need for neutral venues or 2 legs in quarters or semis.

All Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and the Final will be streamed live and for free on Sky Sports YouTube channel. That's 13 games over 2 weeks. This I like!

Am I correct in thinking that the final play-off positions are now finalised?

Yes. The only positions that can change now is Scorchers/Manchester for 9th/10th. I may still be interested in this, but not many others will be.
