Dont know why it’s a hill anyone’s prepared to die on to be honest.
If you don’t like it, fine. Some people might find it funny. Also fine.
Does it have any bearing whatsoever on the team and it’s ability to do well this season? No. Is it going to lose them fans? If people don’t turn up because of a player wearing a dress then it says more about them than anything.
It genuinely doesn’t matter.

I refer back to my initial message stating this was nothing against a man wearing a dress.
My point was in regard to if this type of content is appropriate to be in a professional basketball teams social media. On his own page then yes fine and if people find it funny... as you said ... fine.
The image a business portrays speaks volumes of the culture. If they want to present themselves as a joke ....
Again will sponsors or even potential sponsors look at the social media and think "yes I want to be connected with an unprofessional image/brand"
As a new team impressions right now really do count, and it will stick.

Interesting to hear Liam Carpenter introduced to the Pavilions as Mr TikTok just now.
Seems to suggest that whatever anyone else may think, the club are certainly in to it.

This second quarter has been a joy to watch. We are playing for each other, we're patient, we execute. We focus on the next play, it is superb. Take my money, I'll happily watch this level of resilience every week.

Take my money, I'll happily watch this level of resilience every week. It was good for 5 mins. Only issue is heart and “trying” isn’t sustainable for the company as people will not watch losses every week. And it’s reflected in the crowd today that people didn’t want to spend £15 minimum for an adult ticket to watch us get pumped and basically be a playground for lions to play. Apart from denz, king and Deji I’m not sure any other players would get in to any other team abs probs not many would make it on the bench. The team needs investment and money put in to to keep crowds to an acceptable level and maintain the club.

Rocks were the same last year. Only difference was we did not have to pay £15 to watch it.

It’s not a question of investment atm. What they need is to get their sponsor license and that will be in the hands of the home office.
High level affordable British players are thin on the ground in October.

Which is fine but instead of the apparent Tik tok that I haven’t seen by the way why can’t the club give updates on the sponsors license or even the injured players and how long they are out.

A lot of Wednesday games coming up so the crowd will be even smaller at Pavilions. It’s to late for those fans with young kids. They will just watch it for free at home. I also think a special price on merchandise would’ve been a good idea for the first few games.

You’ve got to remember this club won’t run on basketball die hards and knowledgeable basketball people that know everything about the BBL there’s just isn’t 1000 of them in Plymouth. A lot of people that go are casual fans that enjoy watching for the entertainment factor and want to support a Plymouth based team. However Plymouth fans are notoriously fickle whether it be football, basketball, speedway when the going’s good they’ll sell out every week when the goings tough they will struggle to sell many.

Not 100% in agreement…. Yeah if the tanking continues attendance will reduce. I myself didn’t want to spend £70 (tickets and travel) to watch us get destroyed today, but…. Me and my wife drove from Dorset to Plymouth 7 games ins row once to which we won 1 game, so Plymouth fans will attend, but the loses need to be reduced and not be 40, 50 point blow outs, tbh…. My gut tells me this is a one season only venture for the pats

It's not tanking. Tanking is deliberate.

The spectator slide two home games in should be a worry. Other than a couple of hundred ardent basketball fans, there doesn't appear to be the interest or emotion to keep this going for too long. The organisation are already panicking by offering "Kids Go Free" a surefire when the tickets sales collapse. General Manager Heslop claiming publicly it's to ensure as many people have access to watch live basketball - (meaning we're panicking two days before tip off and have sold 300 tickets, yikes). Wednesday night games will be a financial disaster, and there are lots of them replacing the Sunday games. As pointed out on this thread, fans will back the plucky loser, who regularly compete in single digit losses, occasionally lands a lunch on a big team. For years that what Raiders fans appreciated, the hard fought game, edge of your seat entertainment. That keeps people coming. With no investment, even when the FIBA licence turns up, without PJ being able to recruit even moderately talented overseas players it will be very tough. The venue apparently is still the most expensive in the League at several thousand £ a game which is commercially frightening on what's been seen so far. This particular BBL experiment of them entering a team on the fly and getting inexperienced people to run it, could as suggested be a one season wonder.

Isn't it a shame that in all its years of existence, Raiders didn't create more than just a casual fan base in Plymouth. Where's the legacy? Easy to criticise Patriots, but from where I stand there's a pretty big glass house that's been left behind. Let's not throw stones.

The problems are myriad and post covid, a lot of teams will feel it. Patriots will perhaps moreso as a new franchise. Fans being precautious/anxious about being indoors with lots of other people is going to get worse during the winter so there will be many contributing factors, not just losing by 40 points week in and out and pressure on people's wallets to get bang for their buck. It isn't enough just to make people feel grateful to have a team. Would you watch a movie at the cinema that had awful reviews only to go see it anyway and spend £40 with the kids and walk away thinking you could've spent that money elsewhere? It appears the current Plymouth model was a bust from day 1. That isn't unduly critical, starting a team from scratch in 8 weeks always looked a kamikaze mission. Raiders clearly had a long and established fanbase but fan loyalty isn't necessarily transferrable as seems to be the case.

So they're the negatives, what about the positives - what do you suggest they do? Also, what would you say the current model is and why is it a bust three games in? Is Raiders' fan loyalty a bit blinding here - I'm interest as to how successful you think that model was? Final question, why does it seem (I may be wrong) that you are poking holes in Patriots and not pointing your finger at Raiders' management/directorship which ultimately cost you your team?

So last night was my first since Patriots launched.
The best way I can describe it is it was like the first time you had Christmas Dinner with your girlfriend. All the main components were there and you enjoyed it but it was different and didn't quite feel like normal.
That being said it was good to see a fairly sizeable crowd being a Wednesday night. I can see how they've made some changes to be Patriots and not Raiders, I feel they've made some changed that they shouldn't have and not made some they should've, but they're not my decisions to make.
Someone may want to tell pavilions the team don't play in green anymore though so maybe don't light up the arena in green

Two new signings for patriots today. Coach James say they should be players that will help us towards victories as apposed to squad players.

Rowell Graham’s the first
Seems a good signing and was one who I thought possible after looking at the renaming unsigned Brits

Kofi Joseph the second
I’m not really familiar with him, but reading past threads seems he’s a bit of a headcase but with talent
