Anyone there? 176 people watching (according to my mate who is there - and randomly counted everyone for some reason)! What a load of absolute bollocks!! I'm not sure what I disbelieve more, the fact you've got a mate, or the fact you've got a mate who can't count!

Lack of a legit big at this level is killing Lions, Kelley has nothing for number 15 and Tawiah isn’t good enough at this level Absolutely this! I know I'll get some hate for this but Kelley is a show pony. Blocks & dunks & without doubt he is agile for his size but he loses concentration on defence all the time. His positioning generally is dreadful. But he is a highlight reel & people love that. At least Taiwah plays some d and he has improved this season which I'll give the coaches credit for.

Not nearly as comfortable win as it should have been. Lions have clearly more talent than Kapfenberg but they couldn't make that count until the last quarter, mainly due to the 3's drying up for most of the game. Defensively Lions worked incredibly hard, Washburn & Dirk Williams work so hard yet rarely tire, Reese has really quick hands & the Lithuanian is a really smart player & they were the bedrock of the defense. Teague showed glimpses of his talent but was closer in performance to his 1st game than his 2nd one. Lions lacked player and ball movement for long periods on the offensive end but when they did play team basketball they looked good, there just wasn't enough of it.
But this is European basketball so Lions are very much still learning. Next week will be a different game, Beyreuth will be favourites which will probably take pressure off the players a little & they may relax a bit & as long as they all remember that you can't win a game of basketball on your own it should be a good game.
More fans than I expected even with the freebie tickets which clearly weren't meant to be marketed to the whole world. Will many of those who got the free tickets come again, I'm guessing not many at £27.50 a ticket but I'm hoping that Lions somehow re-price the remaining European games. Next week will be a very difficult sell at any price, West Ham are playing in the London Stadium at exactly the same time against Man City & I was informed today you can get tickets for £10 for that game. Lions will not attract any new fans at £27.50 a ticket, after all as a family what outlay for a sporting event during half term would you prefer? It's very unfortunate for Lions & I would have thought it would have been far better to move the game but I'm guessing for some reason that it wasn't possible. I doubt the Copper Box make anything easy.

I counted 30 people exactly the end Lions were attacking first-half and there looked to be a similar number at the other end. That would be 60. Then the two middle blocks down the side were packed. They hold 126 each according to the Ticketmaster map so with a few empty seats that would be circa 220. And then two blocks each at both ends of the side stand were about half full so that would be 60 x 4 or another 240.
Add it all together and that makes 520, not including the broadcast staff and the courtside seats.

Can't believe you're arguing over a couple of hundred people in the Copper Box on a "major" European cup game night.Lions have been pushing this entry into Europe as a step forward in their development and have thrown money at the squad. Someone somehow somewhere has completely forgotten it only works if people come and watch. We should be arguing about figures upwards of thousand plus, then let his friend count all them. I know posters will say about all the issues of midweek, pricing, other attractions but presumably they knew all that before?

You reap what you sew.

So anyway, back on to the subject of Lions in Europe, although it is more boring ticket talk
Just looking on ticketmaster and the game vs Bayreuth tickets are either selling much better or some are greyed out for other reasons, almost 150 sold by my very lazy rough counting
No price change though which seems crazy

I would have gone and could have gone but Im not paying £27. Not that the club seems bothered about growing a fan base.

Apologies for the standard tr077 response everyone 🤷🏽♂️ You don't have to apologise for me. I was just pointing out you're a proven liar. You need to apologise for you. Found that message where i said i hoped you and your family got cancer? Because a normal person would have sent that straight to the admins rather than just spending months bleating about something that didn't happen. you haven't explained the age discrepancy between you and your BA buddy Joe yet, either. you need to keep a better track of your lies. Well here’s one I have already posted! “ Your pretend cancer treatment going well dude? Shame it’s not real - that’d make my year “ Id have hoped for the board’s sake you would have chosen to ignore my posts rather than hanging on every one like a bad smell I did send to admin but he chose to ignore it sadly

i neither sent that, nor is it what you claimed. So you're basically a liar. Yet when I posted that and the others a few weeks ago you apologised and said you were under stress when you sent them. Seek some help son and leave me alone. And stop spoiling threads as it’s boring for everyone else

And you know who I am- we’ve met before. (You were drunk). Please stop the abuse- it’s embarrassing for all concerned. I would be seriously concerned if a cover supervisor at any of my kids schools were found to be posting abuse online (especially on a personal blog)- I’d take it down if I were you as your agency won’t like it…..

I'm happy to send my password to the moderators so they can read the pm thread. I'm not the liar. You are clearly some kind of nutcase. I hope you do contact my agent, I'll have your contact details then.

Even on a bad day defensively, I just think they have too much offence for anyone to hang with. Even if they're unfortunate enough to pick up a few knocks, still can't see it.
They look like they enjoy playing together too and there's no Liggins type character that could disrupt any of it.

Some of the numbers being bandied about in this thread are comical. 176... 264. So specific! As if it's possible to count, to a man, the exact number of people in attendance at a game. Even one as poorly attended as this. Regardless of what the exact figure was, I think it's fair to say that when you resort to giving tickets away for free the day before, in an attempt to spare your blushes, and you still only get enough people through the door to just about fill one ten row sideline stand, you've not had a great time of it.
Lions might be able to get a few more in next week without cutting prices. Bayreuth should be a much better opposition. You can advertise that one as a 'MASSIVE, not to be missed, top of the table clash... against a German Bundesliga team... featuring a former NBA draft pick.' That might persuade a few more to turn up. Lions continuing to win games should definitely help a bit too. But if they don't budge on their pricing, I think they'll probably be looking at a similarly poor turnout.

This was their best opportunity to get a crowd given its half term.

I think that Dirk Williams is perhaps the best player I’ve seen in the BBL (strong statement)! Thats bold - how far are you going back here? back to when he was playing as a 24-year-old BA team-mate of Joe I lile Dirk, but it's arguable whether he's the best currrnt (BBL) Lion, let alone better than the 1994-98 BBL era
