Really difficult for Lions, coming from a long time without a game & you just know that Brandon Peel is going to put in an MVP performance.
Eagles struggled last week having not played for 2 weeks, it's likely to be the same for Lions on Friday, hopefully the time away will mean everyone is fit.

Long breaks don't help but I think Lions will be too strong for us. I am not sure about this Eagles team, too hot and cold. Happy to be proved wrong though.

As much as I hate to agree with this after last week's performance I'm not particularly optimistic we will win tommorow especially if we can barely score from anywhere except under the basket which is why I felt we lost last week.
Although stranger things have happened and one thing with the Eagles is when we have our backs against the wall sometimes we do suprise.
Such as the time we beat Solent Kestrels in the Tropht final in 2020 and when a 6 man team defeated a full strength Raiders team years back aswell.
Having said that this years team haven't been very convincing so far. But as the underdogs in this game at least we have nothing to lose. If this game ain't over after 5 minutes of play I will be amazed though.
Go Eagles! ๐๐ฆ

Newcastle are so much better with Defoe on the court they better wrap him in cotton wool. Brilliant win.

Well Spacejammer is amazed and I am happy to be wrong. Lions went big and shot really well but had no answer to Fletch or Darius. I want to watch the game again before commenting further. I am going to change my name to Lambs, which means I have a bottle with my name on it๐ป. Time for a celebratory gargle.

Was quietly confident of a win on Sunday as Eagles hadn't shown any real form this season. Think I have changed my mind after watching that performance against Lions. Very impressive and extremely Fast.

Wow, I know after last week the Eagles had a lot to answer for but I certainly wasn't expecting that performance. I can't remember the last game where I was that vocal on out of my seat. Seeing how the Newcastle United takeover is going you could make a joke saying bringing loads of money to Newcastle doesn't mean your going to win lol. After watching them destroy Cheshire on sky afew weeks ago I felt the key to beat London was on the defence and from the 1st quarter and throughout the game I was gobsmacked that we actually were playing decent defence. Good all round performance from all which made the MVP debate difficult. Went to Fletch for the scoring but I felt Defoe for his veteran Leadership tonight and Sayers with the game saver 3's could have also been worthy. Free throw shooting was also better to. Got worried in the 3rd quarter when London came back the wheels were about to fall off the apple cart but luckily we took back control and got the deserved win. As for London made some strong plays but definately didn't look right tonight. They looked more like the cowardly lion from Wizard Oz then the Lion King type of team. Guess they never faced adversity or are used to being down. I also don't get why he didn't use a Timeout when we were 10 ahead or why he didn't bring on Robinson until the late 4th quarter in the 2nd half. Either way I'm glad we got a win and I hope we can do it again next month in the trophy game in order to stop them sweeping. Although I imagine they will be back with a vengeance for that match and Giants will have an incredibly frustrated team to contend with Sunday which I hope they can win to make it a double loss for Lions. As for the Eagles I hope we can keep that performance up as it certainly is how we should be playing. I know theirs a lot of season left to play but this game has to be a candidate for match of the season. Well played Eagles! ๐๐ฆ

What a match and what an atmosphere - the VMA really was rocking ! At times it was the Darius & Rahmon show with sublime passing of the highest standard, and a career high SEVENTEEN assists from RF. Great to see Louie finally get his eye in as well. Suddenly I'm optimistic about our season, but there's a long way to go and some serious competition - Go Eagles !

Was anything up with the Lions tonight. The attitudes of the players and the look on Vince face did make me wonder if something was not right or if something had happened before the match that shook them?
Although he had won coach of the month Vince look like he had no idea what he was doing tonight?
On another note though if Eagles can carry this momentum on to the next games against Cheshire and Bristol hopefully we will be in fine form for our next heavy weight rematch against the Riders away.
After the beat down they gave us in that first match even if we lose, it would be great if we could at least put in a better shift for that one then what we did first time round.
