Early wobbles by the Lakers are to be expected. I doubt they are worried. Nets looked strong. Very good bench full Of last seasons starters. Durant looked sharp as did Kyrie. Curry looked rusty to be honest and like he was feeling the need to force things.

Certainly the behaviour of James Harden hasn’t helped engender any sympathy for the Rockets. They need to get him under control or ship him out. In the short term if they effectively swapped him for Ben Simmons or Lavert, Allen and another from the Nets then I’m sure in the short term they’d be better off. Admittedly maybe a lower ceiling than they had with a happy Harden. In general though we all need to accept that any sports leagues will be disrupted and disjointed. The alternative is to just give up.....perhaps as BE will do with Jnr NBL now with the latest T4 restrictions.....

Just watching the Warriors v Bucks......going to be a very long season for Kerr, Curry and Green. They desperately need Wiggins and Oubre to start playing better but they are poor. Only positive is a Curry is going to have some Outrageous games.....

After all his antics, particularly recently, Harden is, for me, this season's Dwight Howard in his being a player that I would particularly like to see getting his come-uppance.
So it was just so gratifying to see CJ McCollum's shot going in
Wonder if any of you bunch are similarly disturbed as me by Sky giving up whole channels to some sports. Obviously, I won't mind if they let NBA (and BBL) take over from the NFL channel post-Superbowl, but Sky shunting games over to Mix because a whole channel is devoted to Darts (even when there are no live games) seems too much.
I already wedge out far too much to Sky, such that my HD only covers the Sports channels - this means that Mix is non-HD for me. If the NBA is not on Main Event as well as Mix, I have to suffer non-HD coverage.
In pre-big screen TVs, we all suffered grainy pictures and were happy enough in our ignorance, but not now.
I am currently only watching the HD NBA matches in full - I am having to just watch the final moments of non-HD matches as they hurts my peepers

yeh find it strange that in this day and age that Sky (and include NOW tv in that) charge a supplement to have HD. When use to be with BT, the deal they did for us basically refunded the HD sport charge. As the street got cabled, moved to Virgin and get Mix in HD as part of the package - even get 4K btsport for no extra charge. Guess more folk need to moan at sky to make them remove the upcharge and make HD the standard offering.

Blimey. Only debate on the NBA thread is about the cost of HD. Any thoughts on the games? Harden potential trade? How good the Nets look?

So the clippers get absolutely destroyed by Dallas. Dallas were up by 50 at the half!
If Dallas didn't score a single point in the 2nd half they still would have won by 4. Yikes.

Harden is awesome but just don’t see who will mortgage themselves to get him. Suspect the clippers regret bringing Kahwi and Paul Geierge in should Kahwi walk this summer. Harden’s behaviour and the reality of trading everything for someone who can enter free agency will put a lot off. Who would have bet: Hornets to beat Nets Pacers to beat Celtics Knicks to beat Bucks Cabs 3-0 wtf is going on??

How good the Nets look? just got round to watching the Rockets game - was easier on the eye than many of last seasons games were, though still a few frustrating Harden put up a 3 as soon as at the line when not even tried to stretch the d and create a better shot. Add in the opponents fans will not have liked how often he still plays for a foul, and i'd rather see him focus more on the play and shot. liked what i saw of the new guys and what the coach was trying to do - and with so many missing, it would be good if the back office could sort out keeping harden and let the coach fit him and the others into a better squad with more than one offensive plan/option that let them down last couple of seasons.

It was pretty awesome, though. considering the talent of the team getting whopped it might be the most dominant 24 minutes of basketball I've ever seen.
I think the lack of summer league, pre-season training and games - terrible though the latter usually are - is showing with the random results. Things will settle down, the new play-off format should prove interesting although I'm not sure I want to see the possibility of the team who finishes tenth in the East come up against Bucks in a best-of-seven.

Liked the look of Wood the other day when feeding off Harden - but even more impressed after the latest game in Houston v Sac as showed he can work well with whoever gets put on court with him. Great start to his time at the Rockets. Also good to see Wall putting it together. Just need Cousins to control the silly fouls now so he can maybe add another 5min to his minutes and rest guys without pushhing the side into the penalty too earlt.

My son bought me Nick Nurse's autobiography "Rapture" for Christmas. An excellent read and highly recommended. Some tremendous advice on coaching. Fab Flournoy listed in credits right the end, and quite a bit about Nurse's time in UK earlier in his career.

Early doors but good to see early predictions of Nets dominating the NBA appear to be slightly overstated.

Its very early on in a season where training camp and pre-season were massively disrupted. Kyrie Irving is a very good basketball player and despite his individual skills and off court nonsense I've never thought he was not a team player?
I agree. They look like a decent bet to come out of the East. I would never write off a team with KD in it. Most all around talented player in the game for me (note I did not say best!). Sixers have started strong and I expect the Bucks to get their act together soon (despite sacrificing some of their depth). The other teams in East off to a good start may well sustain their playoff position but I cannot see them troubling the ECF.
In the West I'm struggling already to see past the 2 LA Teams. Disappointed with the relatively slow starts for the Nugs and Herseys Mavs. I expect both of them to pick up as some others fall away.
Hopefully the season will not be too disrupted!!

Am well looking forward to Boston Miami tonite - have not watched a match for quite a while now as once you have watched in HD its pretty unbearable to have to suffer the non-HD Sky Mix while (outrageously) a whole channel has been handed over to Darts, and not even live Darts at that.
And MVG got knocked out before his time.
180 - I think not.

Rumours on Twitter suggesting Kyrie missing a couple of games due to the disgraceful scenes in Washington. My he is a sensitive soul considering he’s a multi millionaire sports man. If I was in his team I would be livid. Life goes on.

www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30678082/the-nba-covid-19-preparation-season-already-being-testedWhen you consider the money NBA has to throw at this, not to mention the clubs themselves plus the fact that it’s the players very lucrative careers at stake it’s a shockingly quick slide into heavily compromised games. When you look at the general situation in the states with different rules and attitudes in each state and perhaps it’s not that surprising. I don’t understand some of their close contact rules.
