Good point!
However the last line of the article also says "This comes just weeks after he announced an auction of most of his NBA memorabilia." That does not suggest medals/trophies but he did not seem happy about moving out.

daveballblog.wordpress.com/2022/06/21/kyrie-sigh/Could not agree more with this blog by Hersey. Kyrie is chief cockwomble of a worryingly growing amount of cockwombles in the NBA. Players like him, Simmons, Zion and others who seem to think potential and talent are all thats important and not actually doing something like actually playing basketball!! Kyrie is particuarly annoying as he really does spout some crap and is an absolutely brilliant basketball player that, despite myself, I cannot help but enjoy watching. How many more NBA teams will be prepared to take a chnace that he will settle down and just play ball? The fact the Nets how the Snow Flake supreme in Simmons only makes it worse for them and their fans. He was a great defender and rebounder and a decent enough point forward if you don't need him to shoot/score in clutch situations. Should be a perfect fit with Durant in many ways but will he ever play again or be the same.......struggling to believe it to be honest.

I like the word "cockwomble", I'm going to try to use in the future. Obviously not at work, so maybe in my blog.

Despite being an NBA fan since the mid-late 80s I cannot say I have ever been bothered enough to look up/work out how free agency and the salary cap work in detail. I have no idea what exactly Bird/Non-Bird rights mean.
Apparently the Kyrie drama is not all over just because he has exercised his player option. Quite ironic for a guy who often exercises his non playing option too. ESPN tells me that in many ways this makes it easier fro them to trade him for all sorts of reasons to do with taxpayers, mid-level exceptions and no doubt whether the earth is flat or not.
Bottom line is they have a cockwomble on the team

Bottom line is they have a cockwomble on the team I'm the same with the salary cap. I'm sure even in the US most fans don't really fully understand it ( although they probably pretend to...). Kyrie is a cockwomble, though. There is worldwide agreement on that.

Bottom line is they have a cockwomble on the team I found myself whistling "remember you're a (cock)womble" while "refereeing" softball at school. It's almost a degree course to fully understand every part of the collective bargaining agreement. What is simple is that Nets no longer want the drama Kyrie brings

The rumour mill leaning heavily towards Brunson leaving Mavs. Real shame as he was excellent with and without Luka. I guess he deserves his payday.

The news caught me out of the blue last night. And especially as I heard it on Sky Sports News. I actually had to shush my wife from talking ( didn't end well...)

Well he’s an amazing talent so I’m sure when he’s on the court Dallas will be much improved offensively. He fitted remarkably well with Harden playing the point so I guess the same could happen with Luka.
It’s all the drama off the court and when he goes awol that disrupts his team that’s the issue. He’s the cockwomble in chief.

www.espn.co.uk/nba/story/_/id/34291954/boston-celtics-teams-engage-talks-brooklyn-nets-possible-kevin-durant-deal-sources-sayThis is just one of the many KD stories floating around but its my favourite as I think it will really underline the one real negative about KD and his career.....that seeming unwillingness to take on the best team in his conference and just joining them instead :-) For the Celtics I would suggest that Tatum must be the closest thing in the league to KD Mk2 anyway. I am sure that KD and Tatum could co-exist but they are quite similar. Complimentary elite role players to support Brown/tatum would seem a better option for them. That said KD has that type of game and body that suggests it will age well. He had a poor series against the Celtics in playoffs but he is normally a guarantee of points. It feels like there is a blockbuster coming somehow in the NBA that will really shake things up. The Lebron era is coming to an end in the next couple of years.

Appreciate I am pissing in the wind posting about NBA these days but what the hell...I will do it anyway. www.espn.co.uk/nba/story/_/id/34677215/nba-training-camp-most-likely-landing-spots-blake-griffin-hassan-whiteside-other-veteran-free-agentsI liked this article. What I miss are the days when vets such as this went to the euroleague for a swansong. For the experience, for a taste of something different. The bigs mentioned would probably get a bit more love but the 3 guards would certainly be valuable additions to any good euroleague team. Playing and living aboard is not for everyone but if you have money and are in a basektball environment then a season or 2 to round out a successful career playing meaningful minutes and competing rather than being a "break glass in case of emergency" player in the NBA?

Former Kestrel Jeremy Sochan made his preseason debut for the Spurs. He registered 5 points, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks and 1 steal ( a quadruple single!) in 17 minutes. He is already being lauded for his defensive capabilities (all learned at Solent...). If he can develop a reliable shot then I think a solid NBA career awaits...

daveballblog.wordpress.com/2022/10/12/infighting-talk/No doubt most of you (well the 4/5 people on here) have seen the punch (by the way The Punch by John Feinstein is a great read. All about when Kermit Washington laid out Rudy T and half killed him) that Green landed on teammate Poole. As Hersey says in his blog, and as Steve Kerr mentioned, it does happen. The bigger issue is the video leak that turns it into something more. A team mate of mine had an interesting theory that the Warrios leaked it on purpose so they had a good excuse to ship Green and not pay him! As conspiracy theories go its a corker and I don't believe it. Greens value in the NBA is to the Warriors. He would be a lot less useful on many teams.

I don't really do conspiracy theories, though i wonder how we're struggling to "return" to the moon, but that doesn't really add up to me.
Feinstein's book is brilliant. All his stuff is.

daveballblog.wordpress.com/2022/11/02/whats-wrong-with-nets/In hindsight the Nets were probably not the best place for Nash to start his coaching career. Had KD and Cockwomble been fit it would have possibly masked the issue for a lot longer though. Not to mention Harden. With everything that happened though it seemed inevitable in hindsight that he would ultimately go. Would not be surprised if Marks went soon too. Harden actually played some good basketball for them at times....Simmons is so far looking like a busted flush. I don't know enough about the Udoka situation to say whether or not it is right the Nets hire him. If the only issue was that he was a superior in their organisation and that broke their rules then I guess he deserves another shot. If there is more to it then the Nets are just adding another resident of Wimbledon Common to their already phalic laden club!

I don't blame him for grabbing the chance to coach Nets, but some experience as an assistant might have helped him a bit. Not that anyone can ever truly be prepared for dealing with Cockwomble. I'd love to see him on the Mavs' bench, whether we need two HoF PGs on the same bench is open to question but they did play together at Suns and are both Dallas legends (and mates of Dirk). Whether Kidd is willing to employ an obvious replacement if it all went Pete Tong, is a question, though. Marks is dead man walking. Why a billionaire continues to show such bad judgment regarding a player who is clearly an absolute cancer* really is a mystery, how many seasons must he wreck before he comes to his senses? * DTB, note I didn't say I wished cancer on his family. I know you struggle with such things.

www.espn.co.uk/nba/story/_/id/34942326/nets-suspend-kyrie-irving-least-five-games-payThis guy really takes the bsicuit. He acts without thought of consequence to himself or more importantly his team and employers. He clearly has lost the plot. The reporters gave him ample opportunity to say what he needed to (and hopefully wanted to) say! HOwever its more important to him to continue to spout his mumbo jumbo nonsense. His team is off to a shocking start and need him on the court. His antics last year clearly played a part in his coach being fired as all they do is create dvision, discord and negativity. I really wish that the Nets would have the nuts to can him and that he is ignored by the NBA. He has subsequently done what he should have done immediately. I've said it before and I will say it again "COCKWOMBLE!!!"
