Some great programmes in addition to the live games.
Really enjoyed the Shaq Kobe conversation, particularly opening up about their confrontations - Kobe talked about when he nearly went to the Bulls, but stayed as Shaq went to the Heat. Although Kobe didn't specify details of the trade I recollect that Luol Deng and possibly Ben Gordon would have been involved.
Funny how that many years later Deng ended up in LA, and Gordon (once he hit the skids) played for GB.
Quite a few BBL/NBA connections abounding

Have you seen the Hornets new/old court design and uniforms?! LOVE IT!! So awesome. I know it all got a bit cartoony in the 90s but this was always one of my favourites.

Suns-Mavs was a fun one and great to see Ayton and Doncic. Ayton looks like the real deal, he looked slick in the post. Apparently he's been described as David Robinson with a jumper - I just enjoyed seeing some traditional big man play under the hoop, he had an old school feel to him. 18, 10 and 6 on 8/11 shooting is some line for game 1! It's nice to see the Suns are going to be relevant again after a long drought.

Is it me that Ben Simmonds is a beast give that kid a jumper and he's top 5 in the nba!!
Think he will be every bit as good as Giannis

I need to watch last night's game but from what I saw in game 1 I think he can be truly special. MVP within 3 years and I just think he could be the face of the league. Not to say the very best player but I think he's marketable and stylish. Kobe was the face of the league without ever being a top 3 player. Once LeBron goes I don't see AD or Giannis taking on that mantra, big men don't seem as appealing to the masses as guards. So I just think Simmons could be the guy.

After seeing Jarrett Allen against the Pistons in the Nets season opener I really cant wait to see the return fixture when I'm in Brooklyn next week. Should be an interesting match up especially with the Nets having more players available for that game.

Voise, Simmons did win ROTY already! Or are you talking about Ayton?
Yes, Nets-Pistons was a surprisingly good game (well, I only watched the highlights) and one of several exciting finishes. Some folk have the Nets in the playoffs this season.

Ha yeah, don't pay too much attention to the Donovan Mitchells and his jumpers of the world - Simmons was entitled to be in the mix just as Blake Griffin was after he missed his first official year and Embiid could have won it after missing 2 years! I like Mitchell but he was just acting butt hurt because he knew Simmons was/is better than him.
Now, I'm off to watch LeBron in the showtime colours, game 1!

Nice little scrap in Lakers v Rockets! Who said early season games don’t matter!
Also really enjoyed Celtics v Raptors. Celts are sooooo deep. Cannot see how Stephens will keep them all happy longer than this season (if that!).
Good start to season overall.

Ingram was out of order when shoving Harden in the back and kicking off all the hoohah - add that to him again trying to blindside an opponent when swinging a punch at Paul means he ought to get a lengthy ban - 12 game minimum I reckon.
The melee between Paul & Rondo must surely merit decent-sized suspensions as well!

What is it with Houston in that building? They got into it with the Clippers last season too!
Obviously the Lakers brought in Rondo, Stephenson, McGee, Smith - so you bring trouble in with that. We'll see more incidents as the season goes on. I didn't think Ingram was a dirty player but he kicked off twice there for seemingly no reason!

Ingram gets 4 games, Rondo 3, Paul 2. I was expecting more for the Laker players really.

Some big scores so far this season! Last nights (no teams to avoid spoilers-ish)
133 - 111 131 - 120 98 - 100 112 - 115
The point of emphasis on the defensive end certainly seems to be working if you like high scoring games. For me I prefer a balance but in general the sports governing bodies are certainly aiming to turn basketball into what footballers have always said it was.......

Yes and there's Lou Williams talking about what a good defensive effort his team made. Really?!
There's already been a couple of scores over 140, it is a bit concerning.
What's struck me as well though is how many tight finishes there have been. Loads of games have come down to the final possession so far. Not going to complain about that, it's always fun to see how those games end!

I have NBA pass. I may have mentioned it's lovely. But is there not supposed to be a highlight option? I can't find it. Even I can't watch full 48 minutes of every game. Though i'll try.

My experience was limited to pre-season games but when I clicked on watch I was usually offered several options including "condensed". This was a whole game in about 20 mins real time from memory. I believe there are other options as well.

I don't find the condensed game watchable because you know every play they include results in a made basket. It also misses out on the excitement of a close game's conclusion.

Ty Lue is out of Cleveland. I guess without LeBron there calling the shots he had no protection anymore. Not that he did a bad job of course but did he achieve anything Blatt wouldn't have? I don't think so.
Billy Donovan could be next if OKC don't pick up the pace. I'm not too worried though, had Westbrook been healthy for training camp and pre season they beat the Warriors and Kings as a minimum for 2-2. Still, a loss to the Suns up next will be a concern.
Top tip: Bucks and Raptors go head to head tomorrow night in a game between the last 2 unbeaten teams, so that should be a good one to watch. Dream start for Nick Nurse to his head coaching career.

Clippers with 9 players in double figures! That's what I call a balanced attack all be it against the Wizards. Are the Clipps serious play off contenders?

Seriously impressed with the start Nick has had at the Raptors. They are playing great.
Of the 3 best teams in the East (Raptors, Bucks and Celtics) I think it’s the Bucks that pose the biggest question marks for the Warriors. Lopez and the way he spaces the floor has made them in to (near) contenders.
Loving the Bucks atm. Great style, great players too.
