I’m a big NBA fan but I’ve got to admit I’ve been spoilt in recent years by BT Sport coverage and struggle to get excited about early season NBA.
First couple of games are ok then it feels really subdued until Xmas games. However for you Sam :-)

Good old Sky, they can't decide if they want NBA or not - they seem to dip in and out of it on and off as the years go by! Anyone else going to give their predictions? There doesn't seem to be much excitement about the new season round here! I maintain that the season's too long and that dampens excitement. It doesn't really matter how good any of these teams are - as long as they're not terrible - until maybe March. And when you're playing 82 regular season games no individual one means much at all. I thought the strike season a few years back, when they played 55, was more than enough to decide which teams were better than others and who should be going to the playoffs.
But of course, none of the owners are going to be giving up any of their 41 guaranteed home dates any time soon. Although at some point, maybe TV money will be so much more important than gate receipts that maybe they won't mind (or it'll reach the point where they can barely give the tickets away, so they'll actually want fewer games). But I think that's still a pretty long way off.

Good old Sky, they can't decide if they want NBA or not - they seem to dip in and out of it on and off as the years go by! I think Sky don’t want the NBA until the price is right for them. My guess is that the NBA are now desperate for some UK coverage and have offered it up at a price that is now right for Sky. But like I said, it’s just a rumour I’m hearing at the moment.

Wouldn't be surprised if NBA moves to elevensports
I signed up to them last week. Theyve taken over la liga and serie A football already. So you have to have it to watch Barca, Real Madrid or Juventus live now etc. And they are also taking over UFC from BT Sport. I'm sure they will be in the running for NBA.
Cancelling my BT sport at same time

Something’s certainly happening…
A new Twitter account has been opened - @skysportsnba with the title “The official account of the new home of the NBA”
I'm also hearing there'll be live games almost every night for at least the first month of the season.

It is being shown on Sky Sports, Mark Woods has just confirmed. If only they gave it the same love as the NFL. Here's hoping

Official Twitter account now states - “Over 170 live games, including the playoffs and NBA finals. Sky Sports - the new home of the NBA.” Also, opening game, Philadelphia 76ers v Boston Celtics, this Wednesday 1am on Sky Main Event and Sky Action. Remember you heard it here first, from me, last week.

Anyone think it will be more than just games? Would really like more coverage on Sky Sports News,ie comprehensive results, interviews, highlights, etc.

Wonder if the Jump will stay on BT though, alongside PTI and RTH? (And yes, Rachel has fabulous hair, a remarkable decolletage and quite a remarkable insight into the sport. My 3 favourite things for a reporter! Love that lady...)

Sky have confirmed they’ll be showing NBA Action, but no mention of The Jump (yet).

It's been gone for a couple of months. Isn't it made by/contracted to ESPN? There's no way they'll do a thing to promote something on Sky. I miss Rachel

Interesting game between Philly and Boston last night. The C's looked far more polished although Simmons had some great highlights. It looked obvious to me which team is more 'finals ready'at the moment.
Simmons and Tatum might just be the future of the league once LeBron retires. I can see Embiid moving on from Philly as he has a huge ego, but I think the sixers will become Simmons' team in due course. Embiid is great but I noticed a few elementary mistakes in his game last night.
Starting okc-Dubs now but with RW out I'm expecting a blow out.
