No not good. I’m resigned to NBA League pass. I understand if I get a Chrome stick thingy then it has the app so I can watch on my TV without the need to hook up laptop. so paying for BT sport (big rugby fan), sky sports as son loves wwe and also footie and league pass for NBA....not to forget Amazon Prime for various reason the wife assured me are totally valid. Welcome to the modern world of “ choice”...........hmmm I've had fantastic value from BT, I still want to watch Duke, so I'll stick with them and nba TV a go. How much do people in the uk pay for nba TV (all games) and this stick? Cost me £23.99 a month last year

A team mate told be something like £19 a month last year Dave but I guess like everything it could go up.
I think the Chromecast stick is only £25 or the ROKU one Sam mentions £30 on Amazon. My mates experience is much like Sams. Much better choice and the various game formats are certainly appealing. I think I heard there is one option where it skips all the time outs and free throws? Or is that an urban myth? Would make games much more accessible for me thats for sure.

Obviously live you get the same ads. normally nba send you an email with a code to get money off the league pass subscription.

Tickets for this year’s NBA game will be released at 9am on 19th October. There will also be a pre-sale at 9am on 17th October for those who register for it. Although to be honest it’s pot luck whether you actually get the opportunity to buy a ticket anyway. I don’t know why the NBA don’t host 2 or 3 games in the UK each season (like the NFL, and no MLB too), there’s clearly demand for them.

Prices/packages are up for this year's League Pass (which more of us are going to have to resort to if the NBA doesn't sort out a UK TV partner): watch.nba.com/packages . £185 for standard, £215 for Premium, £100 for single-team. Pretty steep, I feel, so pass along any generic discount codes you happen to come across, people .

Knicks v Wizards is an odd choice. Last year felt like a step forward in generating more interest: two competing teams, with rivalry between them, and that already have a following in the UK. A shame they haven't repeated that by picking what would be a low interest game in the US.
I'm debating whether to try for tickets, having been to the last 5 but also having since been to a number of games in the US where the cost is less and the experience is superior.

Rip off Britain as usual. 3 years ago I paid for my league pass in Canadian dollars and was charged about 75 quid for the full season and playoffs. Every year since they have done an automatic rebilling in this currency and charged me what I assume is Canada's fee for the service, around about 75-80 quid a year! Same this time round. I think that includes a loyalty discount but still, its less than half the price they charge UK citizens!

I watched this last night, it’s a really good LeBron James documentary film which I’d really recommend (and it’s free!).

Hi all, new here, just wanted to add some stuff about NBA League Pass.
I've had the "standard" League Pass for the last couple of years, about to go into my 3rd. Cost is currently £185 per year, for all teams, regular season plus playoffs. Works out at just over £15pm. Personally, I find it superb; you can watch games live, or watch an edited version afterwards with no timeouts, breaks and the occasional free-throw removed (this is my preferred option when the live games are on in the early hours). You can turn scores off in the NBA app so there's less chance of seeing a result before you've watched a game.
My own set up is via a mobile device (phone or tablet) which is then Chromecast to my 48" TV in HiDef (or near-HiDef, couldn't swear its 1080p but it looks near enough to me).
Several things to think of - its all done over your broadband, so that needs to be pretty reasonable to get the best out of it (and look out for broadband caps). In my setup, I use Wifi to Chromecast, so Wifi needs to be pretty resilient and strong as well if you go this route. It's not always trouble-free - occasionally things just drop out. That might just be my setup, or it could be the League Pass service or App. I don't know.
Just my two cents...

Secondly, in related news, Eleven Sports have today announced their deal to broadcast UFC from January. Seeing as the NBA season starts in a few weeks and there’s been no announcement, I suspect that means the rumours that Eleven Sports also have the NBA rights are incorrect.

And yet BT Sport said they were dropping it because of being outbid, unless that was just some BS excuse. Anyway, got auto billed for my league pass in Canadian Dollars again yesterday, plus 10% loyalty discount = $130 or £76 and change. :beerchug
Meanwhile the Jimmy Butler saga is hotting up as he is refusing to play for Minnesota and has been excused until they can trade him. I hadn't realised things were so bad between him, Wiggins and Towns but that's what seems to be at the heart of it all. They must have missed the bit where he got hurt last season and they tumbled from the 5th seed right out of the top 8, only to squeak back in on the last day after he returned. Towns has just signed a max contract but if he can't get along with a key guy like Butler, at least enough that they can play together then it should be worrying for the T'wolves.

And yet BT Sport said they were dropping it because of being outbid, unless that was just some BS excuse. I think what they said was they there weren’t going to get in a bidding war/negation over the rights… so basically BT said they’d pay £X for them, the NBA said they wanted more or they’d go elsewhere, BT said off you go then. End of discussion.

Problem is trading for butler you risk it being a one year thing.... so no team will give up good assets with no long term benefit that will match would want for a 4 time all star bet it will be like the kwahi situation he will go somewhere for a good but no great package to a team that will hope to convince him to stay even though I no the fit is questionable but.. I think the spurs got a good haul seeing they had no negotiating position!!

I'll be cancelling and find another way to watch. I'm afraid it shows how low basketball is in the TV pecking order

I signed up to Premium Pass for a year at £215. Works out at just under £18 a month and just about shades the monthly fee for the duration of season and playoffs......I think 🤔
Anyhow the content is good but the search features on the APP are absolutely ****e.
Still would prefer it if it as part of my BT sport package but I was at least able to spin that into a sizeable reduction from them. Loyalty does not pay.

Great to see the NBA back in Seattle last night with the Warriors and Kings (and Durant returning too). Fair play to KD, he may be a cupcake but he said all the right things in terms of the need to bring basketball back to Seattle, and wearing the Kemp jersey for the player intros was extremely cool. I loved watching it all and seeing basketball back in Key Arena (yeah I know the Storm still play in Seattle but its just not the same!) The fans did their part too, in terms of sending Silver a message that there's a big and passionate market for the NBA still in the city. Great to see all the legends there too like Bill Russell, Gary Payton, Lenny Wilkins, Detlef Schremph.
Ironically they nearly landed the Kings franchise a few years ago, but I bet they're almost glad they didn't looking at that sorry mess. Not sure where a team will come from though, at least in the near future.

So how about a few predictions ahead of the season? Who do you think will be the top 8 (and in order) for each conference? Im never great at this but here goes!
West 1. GS 2. OKC 3. Houston 4. Utah 5. New Orleans 6. Lakers 7. Clippers 8. Mavericks (yep, going for an outside punt on this one!)
East: 1. Celtics 2. Raptors 3. 76ers 4. Pacers 5. Bucks 6. Heat 7. Wizards 8. Pistons
MVP: LeBron (though if the Lakers are only 6th in the West maybe not, but AD is my other choice and I can't see the Pels winning enough games either!) COY: Luke Walton (it'll be one of those media darling popular votes though) ROY: Doncic
First coach fired: Tom Thibs is rather on the hot seat at the moment so go with him.

Nothing more than rumours at this stage... but I'm hearing Sky Sports are close to signing a deal with the NBA for 4 live games a week. There are also several 'To Be Announced' slots in the Sky Sports Arena schedule over the next few weeks which coincide with NBA game tip-offs, which supports the rumour. If true I'd also expect occasional games on Sky Sports Mix and maybe a daily highlights programme. As I say, just a rumour I'm hearing right now. If it's true I'm going to take full credit for breaking the news. If it's not I'll deny all accountability.

Good old Sky, they can't decide if they want NBA or not - they seem to dip in and out of it on and off as the years go by! Anyone else going to give their predictions? There doesn't seem to be much excitement about the new season round here!
