So proud of that performance
Gave it everything we've got
I pray to God Burnett stays the season and wasn't just here for Europe.
32 minutes 30 points 8 assists
Against a top quality defence

Leicester agonizingly close - played well.
Only unreal 3 point shooting won that for the Hungarians.
Riders look twice the team with Martin.
And, finally, wow - how big was that crowd? Hopefully they were all hidden next to the cameras? A game of that quality deserved better support.

Gutted for Riders (so close!), but a huge performance from them - thought they really showed they can compete at this tier of European competition. Only caught the last quarter and a half when I got home, but seemed close the whole way, and one missed three from Olaj could have seen it end so differently.
I hope they’re able to make it into Europe Cup again soon - they won’t develop as far as a big fish in the BBL pond - but I can see the crowds can’t have been what they hoped for.

Big well done Riders. Hope you can continue the journey next season.

Gutted.
No shame in that whatsoever. Hope lessons have been learned and they can come back stronger next season.

Fully agree - there's no way Eagles would have got so close in so many Euro matches.

My fingers are crossed that Burnett & Martin stay for the season. The former needs no explanation but Martin coped really well against a group of giants who dwarfed him. Great moves close to the basket - that's something different which he offers Riders.

Just got to mention Laarson as well
11 minutes 7 points 5 rebounds
He does have potential
We certainly don't need to replace him now Europe has gone. I do think he could develop into a useful player for us in the squad given time to develop and learn the role etc. He's got quality players around him to learn from.
Plus I would like to see him bulk up a bit to deal with the physical challenges etc

That's a quality interview - especially at the end
"I want to thank everybody who's made it possible for us to go on this adventure. It was tough at times both mentally and physically. But I know we will all look back on this as an incredible experience."

Opportunity lost last night, these did not look as good as the Hungarian team last week, go figure! We couldn't make the plays down the stretch and obviously ran into Rowsey on a good night.
Lets hope that Burnett has now overcome his injury issues, as we looked a totally different team with him on the floor.
Special word for the 6 or 7 fans who made the trip from Hungary, very loud and very drunk!!

Your guys really have done the league proud. You might not have got a win but with so many close games it shows that with a little bit more (Maybe the extra you would have had if Hampton was fit) I could see you edging it to the next round.

Opportunity lost last night, these did not look as good as the Hungarian team last week, go figure! I think we've learnt and improved week by week The stuff the opposition do no longer shocks us or knocks us out of our stride like it did in the beginning As Rob said is his post match interview - the experience has improved us as a team Need to now make it happen in BBL I'm a bit concerned weve got Lions away on Sunday to end another tough week But I'm confident if we keep this squad together and have time to prepare and less fatigue etc to deal with that we can go and stamp our authority on BBL next few months There's not only a lot of character and work ethic in this squad but probably more quality and options than weve ever had And after this weekend Rob will have quality time mid-week to train and prepare them for BBL opponents etc With Burnett it's really interesting what we do with him He's clearly capable of trying to drive the basket every time on his own. And get results. But then so is Holder at BBL level? But it goes against the way we normally play How should/do we use them in BBL to get the best results? I guess Rob can figure that out!

Thought it was an exciting game all round but especially the last 2 minutes. More twists and turns than a corkscrew. Szolnoki played it in great spirit with sportsmanship. Those who didn't bother to go to these European games missed some great basketball. Proud of Riders. Good to see Hampton out of a sling and shooting the ball before the game. Hope he's able to return soon. With him we'll definitely be competitive in the BBL.

Fully agree - there's no way Eagles would have got so close in so many Euro matches. The fact Lions and Eagles have both beat us recently in the midst of all this does suggest that the BBL ain't that bad after all Yep they may not have the depth to do what we've done but they've got the quality individuals for sure

Injuries and the European venture hasn't allowed us to settle as a team but that should change now IF Martin is allowed to stay on the roster. We are better with him and can run different plays. Loved his low post game last night. What a battler and smart too.

I do feel its headed on a very slow upward trajectory, mind.

Thoroughly enjoyed that game. With a touch more luck, and with Olaj not shooting quite so well, it could easily have gone Riders way. Burnett and Martin looking terrific, but no one let us down last night. Bring it all on!

I know but we've competed. Last night we very nearly beat the team that's won our group and only had one narrow loss away to the Italians last minute. And without Hampton. The GREAT thing was the Hungarians weren't coasting. They wanted to win that match as much as we did. They were seriously worried near the end. It was a full on match and they got a bit lucky with all those 3s IMO. If we were hammering lions and Eagles then I might talk the BBL down. But we are not. Before this euro thing started there was a fear we might embarrass the BBL. We clearly have competed and gained respect from the opposition. That's the most promising thing to come from this I think.
