In a sense they are. Because if sides finish level aggregate score will come into it. And the smaller the number of the games, the more likely that tiebreakers come into it.

With ten games each, how likely are tie breakers?

I agree with everything you've said here. I give it one season...

Are we sure that a tie will be decided upon the aggregate score of the two games?
Dan Routledge infers that it might be points difference..........anyone know for sure?

Disappointed about the reduction in league games although I'd rather there were more teams in the BBL so that would give us more. Like the best of 3 playoffs but it looks as if there'll be an awful of of dead games where fans won't bother to show up and care less about the result. That's a negative.

Ok, the more I’ve thought about it, and the more I’ve read your comments, I’ve concluded I like the changes to the Championship and the Play-Offs. Makes it feel more basketball-y and less football-y.
But I don’t like how long and drawn out the Cup sounds. I agree that the length of the Cup competition was probably largely dictated by financial reasoning i.e. we’ve lost a load of games in this competition, so we need to add a load a games in this other competition. I accept that, but couldn’t they have levelled out the number games a bit more equally if they changed the Cup and the Trophy formats slightly?

Were these changes discussed or expected at all? Clubs involved in decision.
Looking at Dan's tweet he seemed to have been shocked by them?

However, and I do go back to this, a club that had fully paid up a quarter of a million pound for a franchise was told that they were no longer part of the league by way of an 11 word statement at the footnote of a press release on the BBL website concerning something completely different, so stranger things have happened.

The BBL is a franchise model, therefore the board members (and those who would have approved these changes) are the representatives from each and every BBL team.

Qualifiers will be 2 legs games Quarters will be 1 leg game (highest seed getting home advantage) Semi’s 2 leg game Where’s the sense in that??? The qualifiers aren't 2 legs. The 12 BBL sides will be split into two groups of six to play home and away fixtures before the top four in each group advance to the Quarter-Finals. One home one away, 2legs presuming that it will be aggregate scoring. The article has been very poorly written and does not leave us with much information at all. It’s all speculation at the moment.

One home one away, 2legs "2 legs" Lends itself to you meaning an aggregate score and the winner of that goes through. Not the case. Its a group league format over anything else.
(P.s - you definitely need to trademark your screen name and make "Allgoodnix Cereal Bars" to be made available at Cheshire home games and all good newsagents)

There's no commissioner, the decision was made by the clubs. It's possible the chairman has the casting vote, but at least six of them were in favour.

Jeez, if anything that's worse. A team loses the title on the last day because their rivals roll over a side with nothing to play for by 427 points.

Hang on a minute, I was going to start a thread about this with some suggestions about how the season should be setup. home and away games only in the league !! , expand the cup !! ... and best of 3 for the playoffs. BBL barstards have stole my ideas

So am I right or wrong that the cup games will start at the start of the season? I always feel, along with the All stars event which happens at the start of the season, that teams don’t have time to gel together especially if there’s lots of changes of players, so it’s not necessarily a true outcome of the team? For instance the all stars would be better nearer the end of the season?...

I guess it could also be run as an ongoing thing throughout the season? If the BBL plan to keep their finals in Jan, Mar and May then I guess it has to be started fairly early?

They didn't arrive at Brentwood knowing they had to beat us by a certain margin. There's a huge difference

So it looks like there are no new teams joining the league next season and Royals aren't just a one season wonder
It's 12 teams decided already?
