A Friday night in Newcastle. There's not many better places and times to win the league.

Really hoping for a Lions win here. I know all neutral fans will want it to come down to a final ‘winner takes all’ game of the season, Lions/Riders on Sunday, but as a Lions fan I’m not sure I could take that stress. I think I’d feel physically sick, and I’m not even playing in the game. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of fight Eagles put up for this one. They’ve finished 3rd in the league, nothing is going to change that, so surely they’ll want to focus on the Play-Offs and not risk any more injuries (I say in hope).
Forget the Cup and Trophy Finals, this is the most important game of the season for Lions. In fact you could argue this might just be their most important game ever.

Didn't they just lose their most important game ever on Sunday? If they lose Friday then this Sunday becomes their most important game ever!! 3 in a row!! I'm fearing the worst TBH. And not expecting Eagles to be full strength, And normally they don't beat teams like Lions without being full strength. But at least there's a chance. I didn't even expect this chance

Lions have biggest budget (2nd according to Bigz), 3 professional coaches yet still bottled it in last quarter against Nix and Royals twice recently - once in Cup final. How they didn't close those games out is crazy. Hopefully they will start Bristol - their biggest liability and waste of a huge chunk of their budget. Fouled out again on Sunday with 6 points. (London's answer to Willie Clayton), cost them their 2nd trophy and only a good game every 4 or so. Robbie will be well up for Sunday if it gets that far!

Any game where a win will get them their first ever Championship title becomes their most important game ever in my opinion.

That seems a contradictory statement. But for what it’s worth I think Britol’s absence possibly did cost us the Trophy final. But we’ll never know for sure.

Lions will win this comfortably - even the Scorchers nearly beat the Eagles ! But even Cheshire (8th) beat Lions (1st) at the Copper Box when the Championship title was theirs to win. It’s been a strange season, with a lot more unexpected results that Eagles beating Lions. Of course I hope this one goes as the statistics suggest it should!

When I realised that we'd be playing Riders last game of the season I wanted us to be presented the league trophy at that game before tip-off.
However I now want us to win the league at home, therefore I want us to win it against Riders! Simple really!

I'd back Riders if it goes to Sunday I must admit.
We'll be short handed again tomorrow night but we will play to win no doubts.

Don’t write the Eagles off yet - they may not want to risk injuries, they may not want to offer Riders any favours, but they certainly did NOT build the ECA to watch another team celebrating the championship !

I don't think they built it to let Riders win the title either though. Tough call!

When I realised that we'd be playing Riders last game of the season I wanted us to be presented the league trophy at that game before tip-off. However I now want us to win the league at home, therefore I want us to win it against Riders! Simple really! Seriously? I understand wanting to win the Championship in front of a home crowd, but we had that opportunity on Monday. And frankly, we blew it. Now I want us to win it tonight in Newcastle, and Sunday’s game can be a celebratory one before the Play-Offs start next weekend. You can’t seriously want Lions to lose tonight just so they have the opportunity to win the Championship at home? That’s far too risky. Get the away win tonight, celebrate at home on Sunday.
