Guessing we’ve got to keep the students though with our links to Marjon so probably won’t be strengthening our bench. I’ve heard something about Tom Elliott-Smith?

I told Tom he has to sign lol, I think Tola defensively was a real gem this year, Ben Peard is a flat out shooter I'm hoping joins the bbl team too.

The problem with Uni lads is keeping interest and enthusiasm. It's OK to practice, be part of the squad, travel and pre match warm up but when you're doing all that then sitting on the bench game after game then it can be an issue. It all takes time, effort and money for no game time. Not looked at the game time for the players mentioned but suspect it is usually garbage time in a match won/lost and possibly managed 10/20 minutes all season.

I would tend to agree with what you're saying here and while they average maybe 10 mins a game, they're not necessarily used in garbage time with many coming in in the first quarter

I'd be surprised at that 10 minutes TBH. it's a good idea introducing them early in the game rather than be forced to play them in a foul/ injury situation.

Hang on... Donte isn't the fan voted MVP? Sounds like the Raiders fans don't rate him much....

Let's remember Steve Gordon won MVP last year, it's a fan bote and you can vote as many times as you want.
That being said, I'm very happy hes staying, I wouldn't take any other pg over him in the league (not saying hes the best (joint 2nd imo) )

On a British passport, second best British point guard behind robinson, and loves to play for the club perfect start

Do you think Donte will get hold of his mate Cory for 19/20 by any chance.... 😍👀🤷♂️💁♂️ I agree that the MVP Announcement with help bring him home once again 🤞 unfinished business maybe..? Any supporter will be more than happy with the start of recruitment for the forthcoming season I’m sure 😊 We as a team seemed to enjoy playing for each other for the first time in a long while, perhaps bar Joonas who hasn’t looked comfortable since before crimbo really, great player with great attributes but on the right team with his mindset and reasoning he would be a real force. Sad to see him go but not a hard decision unfortunately ☹️ ( just didn’t fit in, especially with limited minutes IMO ) looking forward to any future news on recruitment now 👌

Agree with you he just didn’t seem the player he was the season before. Hot headed and made silly mistakes at crucial times of the game this season. Certainly had his moments and bailed us out of the poo a few times though. Really not sure he would want to return or even if PJ would want him but I’m sure other BBL teams would snap him up for their bench. On his day he’s a fantastic player

Not sure we could do much more tbh.. he brings a lot,/ maybe some unwanted showmanship and flex but it all adds to the show for the fans to get hyped which isn’t to he sniffed at when needed most at the dome. Certainly something we’ve been missing, a natural workhorse/natural rebounder which as hurt us all season tbf.

Far too many offensive rebounds gathered by many opo teams this season leading to easy buckets all to often. If our outside shot isn’t on point we struggle to over come teams with mediocre game at times. So many close games this year lost due to silly unnecessary mistakes generally made by rookies to cause silly turnovers however made throughout the team as a whole this year. Possibly to much pressure on a few individuals to provide 80% of points per game this year. I feel Uno wasn’t top of my recruitment list in the first half of the season but he’s played with some awesome intensity and hustle towards the end of the season to make me think he would be a real force coming into a new season knowing exactly what he’s going into, he’s made some huge buckets this year primary in the later stages of the game when it really counts, he can drive solid to the rim and convert 3 point plays on the break so well. My heart says give him a season to show case his ability. I also like Shelton too he brings great def presence with his arms being everywhere the offence players don’t want them! Made some superb offensive plays this year so Would def like to see his return. I love Denzils confidence too at such a young age he seems to have no fear at driving the lane with his superb athleticism and hops, Seen in the dying minutes of the second leg against lions win. He’s learnt a lot along side Donte just needs to stay fluide and keep his head. Adekowya ( unsure of spelling) was a disappointment for me tbh, even with limited minutes I felt he didn’t bring to that team what he had peaked in previous time at the club ( can’t see a return ) okiki shouldn’t be casted off with his energy and enthusiasm it’s brings the teams tempo up when on the back foot especially when being dominated by opo guards he’s a good irritant to star PG and can poss change the game play with his consistency. Hassan is an offence god however does struggle to contain other bigs of the league IMO as much as I’d be happy to see him return ( great resigning) I’d rather a Paul Williams ( possibly my fav every green centre ) ( bar the likes or Terence and Carlton of course ) 😉.
