I think this signing may make you appreciate what Zak Wells actually did.

I saw that Theo Turner guy up close at a memorial tournament for Tony Hanson back in April. He was big but not sure he was 7ft tall. He looked fit and athletic but impossible to judge how good he was based on the quality of players he was up against that day (thankfully I was in the opposite group to him too!). Would not have thought though not the worst guy to have in a BBL team based on what I've seen in recent years.

He will produce more than Zak.

For sure athletic, and doesn’t need to be a focal point to contribute. Imagine he will play backup minutes get some big blocks and dunk. 2points, 2 rebounds at D2 we shouldn’t expect immediate fireworks. He’ll be useful for us.
Would be thoroughly surprised if Dante is back, so a lot of changes (league wide it would seem)

Think hell make a solid bench player. Not going to be a superstar but a player you need on the bench. Averaged nearly a double double in Germany 4 last year. But that league confuses me standard wise. Sayers averaged the same he does over here but then players come to NBL1 and barely get court time.

Teams in countries with a bigger culture of basketball like Germany appreciate guys who contribute to the team more than your average bbl/nbl fan and at times team would. They don’t solely get guys to make statistical contributions. This isn’t a knock just the way I think it is.

Well he's good enough to be in a BBL squad and certainly big enough

Remember Theo joined the Eagles senior team briefly with Eddie Mathew a few seasons ago when they were both about 16. Didn’t see much of him as he left after a few games to go and play in Spain I think. Knew I recognised the name. I don't remember anything about him. Was he the one who left after about 3 games without getting any minutes?

Zak has 3 rebounds and 2.4 points a game last season. So common Theo, beat that.

As a local player as well is maybe the type of player we should have gone for and wouldn’t have minded him on the Eagles roster. Got to be useful with that height and athleticism.

Yeah he seems to dunk and make loads of great blocks a lot as well which is what I really like about Theo Turner he’s definitely going to be an absolute threat to other BBL teams on offence and especially on defence I really hope that coach Paul James and Raiders also sign some really top level American and European basketball players just to strengthen the roster up even more to help his team push for the top 4/playoffs and hopefully win some silverware in the BBL Cup or the BBL Trophy

Some put backs, some dump offs and a little ball screen action will be his areas of contribution. They won’t throw him the ball in the post and let him go to work.

Denzel Ubiaro, Tola Okiki and Josh Palmer return to Raiders.
What’s everyone thinking? Is this a good thing?
Because of the clubs link with the university did they need to re-sign them?

Can’t be a bad thing, would love to see us doing more of the same at the Eagles.
These are three young talented local players and is important to have players like this on any team. They have the benefit of playing on the team last year and although still young that experience will be valuable.
Yes we have Eddie Mathew and Themba Yabantu but would like to se one or two more on the team.

It's a great thing especially tola and denzel they are bbl rotation pieces and Josh can shoot which you need in this year denzel is a decent 3 point shot away from a good long bbl career and tola shut down Fletcher this year!! And you really want guys like that to stay year in year out get better and build around it!! There's no coincidence when Newcastle had a fit and firing defoe Smith fab combo they won year in year out!! Now without it they are struggling!

Denz will have a good career in basketball for sure.
Tola defense is unreal for a player his age, will be a great player.
JP I'm not so sure on
