I wasn't expecting that and I doubt the club were either. He's just had a baby or one on the way I believe and I think everyone expected him to settle down for a while? That's a huge loss for us. I've since heard the baby is 3 months old ish and has actually had the opposite effect on Connor. He and his partner want to take advantage of travelling with basketball whilst they they still can with an infant. Knowing that when the child is old enough to start school they will have to settle down somewhere.

Saw this earlier today and if Fab was to leave for a job with the Toronto Raptors I would be over the moon for him and would follow his progress from afar.
Yes it would be hard not having him around Newcastle but he has more than earned this.
Who would the Eagles get as a replacement?
Surely a lot of this has already been decided and I would expect us to know who are coach is by now and although nothing announced yet regarding players I would think we have some signed up already and just awaiting to announce them.
Personally I would give Ian Macleod, one of the Eagles assistant coaches a shot at the head coaching role rather than bring someone in that we don’t know is going to be the right fit.

Anyone have any idea what is happening at the Scorchers. Creon gave an interview last week when he said that we had signed 2 players but weren't going to announce them yet. He also said that they had struggled to tie down much of last year's squad. Given that team finished last I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. That said - the fact that we haven't announced anything about season tickets yet does make me worry that there is something going on behind the scenes.

Wonder if that means Quincy Taylor is around and available, one the better PG's last season.

Both Wolves and Scorchers are connected to Universities, so run by intellectuals. They have very little idea of marketing what they are selling and therefore have very little idea of how to communicate to the public. No news is bad new and it deadens the interest of anyone who has any interest. Wolves no coach, Scorchers no players. Communication 101 naaaaaaah

Communication 101 naaaaaaah I only watch Wolves from afar so couldn't accurately comment but I think this is untrue (and unkind) about the Scorchers. I'm sure it is much more to do with financing issues than a lack of marketing. I'm also speculating if something is happening with the venue given the change to Saturday night fixtures which will clash with the sell-out Surrey Storm netball. I have no inside knowledge - just passing the time whilst being forced to watch the netball with my daughter...

Sorry Sussex, not meaning to be unkind. Backdround in Communications and Marketing says and I quote “ drip feed the fans”. If they have signed 2 players encourage the Fans and let them know.
