I note you're not denying the second part of my point  All you are talking about is even older history I also notice youre not denying how weak the league was when eagles won the last sweep? I'm sure it was way stronger when they won their other sweeps if it makes anyone feel better. But I always only comment on what I see. And I never saw that |

Rob will say he wants to win every trophy. No doubt about that. Eagles very much living on past glories as shown by your post. Hope you keep talking like that and stay that way as long as possible. I saw you win the last sweep (I can't speak for your previous ones). It was an incredibly weak league and opposition that last year you won the sweep. None of the teams had any depth at all apart from us and we were miles off where we needed to be back then and still developing. Totally different proposition nowadays. You keep living on your past glories All glories are in the past even riders as this is a new season and all history is a time that has already past. For someone who self admittedly knows nothing about basketball, you sure do like to talk a load of rubbish like your self entitled opinion means anything or should be treated as gospel. I don’t need to live on the past, but history is important otherwise what is the point of winning trophies if they are immediately forgotten about the next year. The mere fact your trying to denigrate the sweeps shows that your team is not as great as you prattle on about, because it’s an accolade you can’t boast about. All glories are in the past even riders as this is a new season and all history is a time that has already past. For someone who self admittedly knows nothing about basketball, you sure do like to talk a load of rubbish like your self entitled opinion means anything or should be treated as gospel. And I never saw that I am denying it was weak Well I know what I saw and I know how weak riders were that season We had to improve a lot to win trophies after that season And we barely lost more league games than eagles that season It was definitely a weak season compared to recent years |

A team can look strong or weak on paper, but that doesn’t dictate how that team will perform in the league. I’m sure every season you think riders are a strong team only at the back end of the season (according to you) but that didn’t stop them only winning one trophy last season. They don’t produce entertaining games judging by the posts that riders attendance figures were suffering last season. I will judge my team based on how they perform in actual league games and effort levels given by the players. I will support my team and if you talk about any past glories of riders I will remind you said you shouldn’t care about the past glories. |

And that is without knowing who your final import will be and without knowing which of the limitless supply of sublimely talented Loughborough players may be called upon to put the icing on the cake.
Frankly everyone just needs to start planning for next season. It’s obvious, innit?

Lions beat Thames Valley 93-76 last night.
I'm never sure you can take anything from results of pre-season games. If the coach isn't rotating all his players and trying out new offences/line ups then it's a wasted opportunity to get ready for the season.

Pretty happy with Eagles’ recruitment but too early to say how they will match up against the competition.
Obviously we have to accept that it’s a race for 2nd behind the unbeaten Riders. Assuming of course, that Zoran’s disciplinary issues don’t re-emerge in Leicester.

What's important, I think, is how attractive they are... I assume Schlitzer won't be to your liking? How about Glasgow, Hussein and Morsell? You tell me, as you seem to be keen on talking about it. Schlitzer doesn’t look like he will be an outstanding MVP player, but he looks like he will be a reliable player that can do a little bit of everything, but not excel in any one thing. Glasgow has good speed and seems to be able to be in the right place at the right time and should be key support or stand in for Fletcher. Hussein has only played half of one game, so not sure what skills he will add to the team. Morsell has impressed the last two pre season games. I don’t think he is too impressed with the refs so far. I will not be making the mistake of discussing the attractiveness of players on this forum again, as that’s for me to know and no one to find out. |
