Eagles have key players play 30 mins plus most games Soon as they get injured they can't cope Imagine Eagles with fletch out injured The way we set up we can handle key injuries every week Do you just make this stuff up as you go along or what? I mean basketball knowledge is one thing but stats? Christ you can look them up. Eagles had as many players play over 30mpg as riders last season.... 1. My point is we can have any player injured or even two key players injured and just get one with it and win games The Eagles players who play 30 mins plus (fletch, Moses (used to be defoe). Soon as they got injured they lose It's not about the minutes as such it's about having a plan B Eagles haven't had one in recent years Far too reliant on key players every week You just have to wait for their injuries to happen to know they will lose games when it matters

I'm guessing Fletch? and if so it's only one because Moses and Defoes bodies couldn't handle it It's an eagles poster suggesting riders shouldn't sign an import who doesn't start and play 30 mins plus

It looks like you are each talking about slightly different things. Only 1 (Fletcher) averaged over 30 mins per game over last season, but when I drilled down into the "game log" stats Defoe(7) and Moses(11) played a bunch of games over 30 mins (more at 28 mins plus) when they were fit.

And when they didn't play at all eagles will have lost more games than they won That's how they roll

So, if I understand you correctly INF, what you seem to be saying is that Eagles really need cover for (a) Defoe (injury prone) and (b) Fletcher.
I wouldn’t disagree!
I think we have covered off Defoe with the recruitment of the two new big guys (both of whom are bigger than Defoe and Moses, and younger too).
Watch this space on Fletch. And of course Lasker also around.
I have a good feeling about this year. Bigger and more athletic and I have high hopes for the backcourt too.

I really don't think it's unreasonable to expect your big time players to play 28-32 mins week in week out. The fact Riders players don't is because they have had a deeper rotation than Eagles over the past few seasons, simple as that. That's the problem we need to address. The extra 3 minutes or so a game (If you are being generous) aren't causing us injuries - We are simply less prepared to cope with them when they happen. We need to be able to go 10 deep on any given night really. At full fitness last season we were really only going 9 - And one of those is 46 years old.

Jury is still out on the backcourt at the moment for me until we see who joins Fletch and Morsell as amunition from the bench.

Welcome glasseyes to the ranks of Eagles fans, which you've probably realised already includes IRF/INF , as this thread’s departure from its title shows...

Until you go 10 deep with quality players Fab can trust you can forget challenging for the league Get to the stage of winning games with Fletch playing 23 minutes and Defoe playing 18 minutes and you will be onto something One reason being it means you must have brought more quality players in you can trust to actually play As it is your Brits are old men and injury prone Which is why you need to be signing players like Jordan Williams You need quality younger Brits We've got them already

No. It's not personal problems ( I hope not anyway! ) . It's worrying about his threadbare Eagles squad that should be taking all his time and effort.

Another twist... There's a preview piece up for the Nassjo game on our website now. Doesn't seem to have been linked on any of our social media platforms. The first paragraph states that the game is tonight when I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow. The second paragraph says that 'newly announced signing Jalen Lindsey' (who I'm pretty sure actually hasn't been announced anywhere?) is unlikely to be available for the game but that Cartwright, Chuku, Scott and Wright will all play. Nice to get confirmation that those four are all still here and presumably healthy. Looks very much as though Walker is yet to arrive but I don't think that's anything to be too alarmed about. Hopefully he'll be here in time for USA Select next weekend.
Assuming this piece is right about Lindsey that puts the Henderson rumour to bed... Which I'm actually a little disappointed about. This guy is a SF so does make more sense as a fit. That being said, he doesn't look a particularly spectacular athlete nor does he rebound the ball well for his size. He was a teammate of Kyron Cartwright all four years at Providence so there should be some chemistry there. Had a good junior year. Shot the ball lights out. Seemed to take a bit of a step backwards as a senior and spent his first season as a pro in Slovenia where he averaged 10 ppg.

Have I missed something here or would that make 4 non EEC (import) players - with Walker (Canada), Wright and Cartwright (both American).
Happy to be corrected?
