Awful 3 point shooting by Riders and struggling when Lascelles is PG. Cartwright at the helm making things much easier. Nix have been fortunate to get away with some blatant fouls, although pleased their PG, also called Cartwright, is on 3 fouls now. He's a tricksy player alright. Hoping we can play a LOT better in Q3+4.

At least Mo Walker is on court ... he's eating an apple at half-time.

Least Sharks wont finish bottom this year. After a good season last year, the Giants lost their big import and other key men and have a really poor roster. Not sure they will win many games at all this season.
It was not a great game and very one sided. The crowd was maybe the lowest I have ever seen for a Sharks home opener - not even half full - maybe 300-400 in there and that is being generous.
Sharks played well today - said it with Koch outstanding again - he is a legit big man. Marsden and Lewis had good games too. McKnight played the point well too. Even Backovic did something right. However, they were playing a shockign side. Still have to beat what is in front of you.
Hope the sharks can get their two starters back ASAP though.

The commentators for the Rocks and Eagles game sound like they’ve been forced to do it unpaid. Two miserable *******s. They should cheer up a little.

Decent start from the Rocks, stream has been ok, a few times it went haywire.

Stream has been as good in terms of camera angle as I’ve seen. The tripping out and sticking a few times is a bit annoying mind.

Comfortable win for riders
Nothing to get too excited about yet. Missing walker and a U.S. import though. So plenty of improvement to come for us.

The Rocks will do good if they convince themselves that the first quarter of the 2nd half isn’t the 3rd quarter. It could get quite messy if they fully accept the 3rd quarter is next.

Sharks win, I`m happy Manchester were a very poor team The crowd was very small, with a few more wins it may get bigger Backovic and Montgomery should not be playing in any meaningful minutes Nuff said

Someone told the Rocks that it’s the 3rd quarter. Not good.

Rocks made a decent fist of it but Eagles (in particular Fletcher) know how to grind out a win.

Bigz the ref was Iain MacDonald. We had him at the ECA on Friday as well. Called 3 moving screen fouls on the eagles.🤬

Missing two starters and a major role player tonight too and I also like rocks - I think those two plus riders are my three favourite teams from what I’ve seen, but like I say the teams will change a lot before the start of the regular season.

Eagles looked solid. Pryor put them under pressure a bit especially first half when he got hot. I don't like the season starting with comparatively meaningless games like this. Could they consider the cup mini leagues starting a month into the league next season or being at least mixed in amongst league games? Put teams under pressure to be at full strength from the start

I didn't stick the boot in after our loss on Friday and I'm not going to heap too much praise on a comfortable win today either.
Nice to see a bit of praise from other fans too, however how much it is.
I'm sat very near the front at games so don't get a reslistic view of the crowd. The capacity is supposed to be similar to the EIS, so if and when I watch the game back, I might give an estimate on the numbers.
As I said after the riders game, you can only beat what is in front of you, it was a comfortable win today, even with the likes of Backovic, Sedale, Montgomery and others getting serious minutes. Too many really for want we want from a winning team. The last 2 minutes were entirely played by players we would much prefer on the bench including the junior shark.
Going back a few years, I was more than happy for the young lads, junior sharks, bench warmers, to get court experience, a good run out; more recently I changed my views and would like to see the more senior players put up a big score, a big win. Atiba doesnt do that. Rob, Fab, wouldn't ease off.
How bad does the Sharks win make Giants look? To me it's far too early to comment. 2 games in.

Could they consider the cup mini leagues starting a month into the league next season or being at least mixed in amongst league games? Put teams under pressure to be at full strength from the start What struck me most was just how hungry they were at both ends of the floor. Morsell and Mitchell really get after it and the early signs are they’re really going to lead by example intensity wise. Mitchell in particular looks an absolute bundle of energy. Then you look at the scoring spread - three guys over 20 points and 4 in double figures. That on the face of things isn’t anything spectacular, but when you think you’re two starters down (one of which is billed as a high scoring guard in Glasgow Jr and another who is a forward who stretches the floor) and a role player who from his last stint in the BBL is a strong three shooter, it’s looking like they’ll have options at full strength. I get what you’re saying about dead games and it does feel all a bit pre-seasony to me, but I don’t think that’s helped with the visa and clearance crisis that has swept the entire league this year - most teams are at least one player down. I’ll give the format another season before writing it off completely on the basis teams will be more prepared next year.
