Don't you have to win something to get into Europe?

Could Lions end up being the 1st BBL team playing meaningful basketball next season? Do Lions have the finances to play European games behind closed doors? Could there be the possibility of some TV company actually paying for coverage of the game if sport is still limited?
A couple of the rumours I've heard bouncing around would certainly make Lions an interesting team for any British basketball fans to watch!
Or will it all come to nothing? Still no official announcement about the new owners!

Bet Vince is gutted that this years Love Island got cancelled.........Who’s he gonna Sign now?
On a more serious note, Are Lions able to afford this because of new owners, have they became a new club with all of Vince’s mounting debts being left with the old club. Or have the new guys finally maid Lions debt free.

Give me a break, first, there are now rumors that BCL will not play this coming season amid the very real fact that a second wave that is happening in Germany and sure to spread and disrupt any start up of the season. All speculation and I’m from South Florida, and 777 Partners is a shady insurance business that scams retirees and the injured out of their insurance payments. Do your research people!! They bought the Lions, what is there to buy? They have no players, and from what I saw when I went, limited fans. So all of a sudden they will have a few million to spend on players backed by a shady insurance company from Miami? Not buying that dude!

Pat he pretends he was an ncaa player but the player he pretends to was still playing college ball while this guy was living in london.
I bet Vince is glad love island got cancelled, makes Ovie still relevant so probably will make plenty still in london so will sign another year

You could release it as an e-book. I presume there's a fantasy section?

Whilst he is undoubtedly talented, we didn't see him close to his best, perhaps he thought he was too good for the league & his team mates but for me he certainly didn't justify his reputed wage bill on court. Obviously he did bring in the biggest crowds we've seen at the Box & helped attendances at other BBL venues but is that enough over a whole season, particularly if his presence is not overly conducive to team chemistry. Don't get me wrong, a fully focused, team orientated Ovie at a realitic wage would be fantastic & would undoubtedly be a huge boost for the European adventure but perhaps there's other GB players who would be a better fit, particularly if Lions could afford 2 or 3 for the same outlay!

Trabants were East German. Just sayin! Can you name a Belarussian car brand? Me neither. And I speak as a bloke who led a consulting project at Romania's largest tractor manufacturer!

It's a bit crap how you can finish 2nd and get an invite to play in Europe. Meh, the Lions will end up being tamed and quite easily at that.

If what I'm hearing about budget and the players they want in, trust me theyll be competitive.

It seems a common misconception north of the border. Despite it's name, it's really the equivalent of the UEFA Cup, they can certainly justify their inclusion on those grounds. We made a horrible mess of competing in Europe back in the day, not helped by Youngblood's British passport not coming through in time and freakishly hard draw. We certainly weren't the only club to screw Europe up, though. If I was recruiting I'd get my BBL roster sorted and add a quality player or two on short-term contracts to strengthen the starting five and provide more bench depth. I definitely plan to get down there for the games, if a crowd is allowed.
