If what I'm hearing about budget and the players they want in, trust me theyll be competitive. So, the new owners have deep pockets and are prepared to splash the cash? Yeah apparently. Theyll go pretty deep into the rotation too if the rumours are to be believed.

So who do you believe? Some allegedly NCAA expert who appears to know everything about Lions..........or an ex BBL Liverpool scally sitting in an office permanently logged into Whatsbev while pretending to work but all the time keeping his ears open for news about clubs and players. My money's on the scally!!!

Well, I'm really looking forward to this. I have some concerns over how this is going to be financially profitable (or even financially viable) for the Lions - more specifically their new owners, what with the likelihood of playing in front of significantly reduced/zero crowds home and away. But maybe the new owners are thinking bigger picture when going into this, and are looking at this as a multi-year plan (that might not make a profit until 2 or 3 seasons from now). I certainly hope so, whilst this'll be a great adventure and hopefully generate some good publicity for the Lions and the BBL, I can't see it doing anything other than costing them quite a bit of money this season with very little return. But like I say, I'm thinking financially, and hopefully there's a bigger longer term plan here... So in regards to the competition, I assume this is the same format as Riders entered a couple of years ago? Only 4 of the 16 teams in the qualifying round will progress to the actual FIBA Basketball Champions League (Europe's 3rd tier competition), so if Lions don't make the cut presumably they have the option of then playing in the FIBA Europe Cup (Europe's 4th tier competition)?

However, I do know that 777 is a shady secured settlement outfit and if you think they will part with any real money to fund the Lions, you’re kidding yourselves. South Florida is full of these “chop houses” that prey on the elderly and unsophisticated. 3 months from now, it will become clear.

I think Vince has stated that the investors are in it for the long haul (5-10 years).
I think that the Riders played/lost a pre-qualifying game which meant that they dropped into the FIBA Europe Cup.
My understanding of the Lions format is that they play a qualifying round starting on Sepember 15th. If they lose that they drop into the FIBA Europe Cup.
The list of teams in the qualifier draw, from which just four will advance into the competition proper, is:
Anwil Wloclawek (POL),
Bakken Bears Aarhus (DEN),
Balkan Botevgrad (BUL),
Belfius Mons-Hainaut (BEL),
Dnipro (UKR),
Donar Groningen (NED),
Fribourg Olympic (SUI),
Hapoel Tel Aviv (ISR),
Igokea (BIH),
Iraklis (GRE),
Keravnos (CYP),
London Lions (UK),
Neptunas Klaipeda (LTU),
Sporting Clube de Portugal (POR),
Tsmoki-Minsk (BLR),
U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca (ROU).
Teams missing out will be able to drop into the group stages of the FIBA EuroCup.

I can talk you through my playing career. I reckon it's very similar to yours, it finished at the age of 16. The difference is, I didn't pretend that I'd played NCAA1 ball when I first registered on here. It's why we're struggling to take you seriously.

I said I played for Johnnie Dawkins at UCF which is correct. So don’t know what you’re taking about. Also, a bit off topic as the topic was Lions and their scammy “supposed” investors from Brickells boiler room row. Focus man!

I reckon London Lions will draw against Lithuanian side Neptunas Klaipeda on Wednesday What time's tip? I might pop down. Hate draws in basketball, though Wednesday 15th July at 11:00 CET - so 10am UK time. Here -http://www.championsleague.basketball/ I quite enjoy a draw, although this will be somewhat meaningless to me as I have no idea how good each of the other 15 teams are. And even if I researched them all it's a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
