That new uniform is dull as dirt. Looks like practice gear. The Lions/Neptunas game has appeared on Bet365... but it's not currently showing as being streamed though. Hopefully that changes. Rumours the BBC might be interested (as per another thread on the forum), but only 24 hours until the game now and nothing confirmed... For those interested, Bet365 have Neptunas as favourites (not a big surprise), with the money line odds 1.66 for a Neptunas win and 2.10 for a Lions win. Interesting. It would appear that Bet365 opened Neptunas at an anaemic 1.33 and most firms had them as favourites so I'm sure you were right at the time you posted this. Books have now flipped and Lions are decent favourites most places. History obviously favours Neptunas. They've been decently competitive in the BCL every year since it's inception and have made the last 16 three times out of four. But according to some (badly translated) Lithuanian pieces I've read their budget is down considerably this year. I dare say that's a narrative we'll be hearing quite a bit but the story does check out here. They've got no Americans and they appear to have lost most of their key guys from last season. They have still got a few pretty decent looking veterans but there's also a lot of youth on the roster. And they've got a young head coach who was coaching their reserve team last season and has no experience at this sort of level. They won their domestic curtain raiser a few days ago but only narrowly, against a team that is consistently among the weakest in the league and finished joint bottom last season (no relegation due to Covid I assume). Long story short, I'm not convinced they're going to be all that strong. Not going to predict a Lions win with too much conviction as I'm not entirely confident they're going to be as good as the sum of their individual parts, at least at this early stage. But I do think Lions figure to be the stronger team on paper here. And I'm kicking myself a little bit for not taking a closer look at this Neptunas side sooner. Thanks for this - has saved me trying to trawl through all the Lithuanian material.
Willy Hills now have Lions to win by 4pts or more.
Can only think that the opening odds of Neptunas as favourites was based on a historical disregard for UK teams in Europe.
Am excited to watch this today, while of course managing to "carry on working from home".

Crazy that there isn’t anything on the lions website on the BBC coverage today!? Also agree lack of merchandise is a missed opportunity as a family we are doubling down on lions support with the sad but understandable loss of our local leopards team but there is only so many T-shirts you can buy two boys with the same logo on!? My prediction...Lions will win today by 8 leading in the first half, terrible third quarter but pulled back in Q4. P I like the detailed prediction!!

What's the actual tip off time in UK time?

Anyone know who is commenting? Coverage is being produced in Bulgaria, so probably no one we're familiar with. At least likely none of the usual BBL commentators. Unless we're dubbing on our own commentary 'off tube' for the BBC audience. Unlikely though. I'm regretting not taking advantage of the initial odds now that had Lions as clear underdogs. Would have been worth a shot, from everything I've read.

A good 6 minute game preview, courtesy of HoopsFix: PS - where can I get one of those new black LDN Lions Basketball t-shirts?

Genuinely nervous here, gutted I can’t watch it, I’ve put a few quid on Neptunas as I’ll be gutted if the Lions lose so trying to soften the blow, but really desperate to lose a bet for once

Yeah scoreboard has been poor, Lions committing too many fouls at the minute and I think eventually Neptunas will pull away.

What kind of window licking mouth breather have they got operating the scoreboard!? Is it really that difficult?

Horrendous quality from both, maybe I’m just used to a higher standard bro g fairly new to British basketball but some of these misses etc are just dreadful

There sure is a lot of James Harden head-popping, ref-baiting going off from this Neptunas team....

Both teams look rusty, missing open shots. Bristol's early foul trouble looks like it's a bit of a problem. MBA looks a little lost defensively. Lions appear to have the better players, Neptunas look better drilled.

Well it's close, but will it stay that way, Lions have 20 minutes left to put things right.

Lions actually looked better when they had the "scrubs" on court towards the close of the half.
At the moment they only look like individuals, not a team. Far too many offensive rebounds being gifted to Neptunas.
Of the "names" only Mullens seems half-decent.
This Liggins guy looks dreadful - I thought someone said he was playing alongside Lebron only a few years ago At the moment he (Liggins, not Lebron!) has the worst cost to production ratio of any of them.
Brown is well undersized at the point & Lucas is nothing special - good job most of the minutes can be managed by Robinson.
Having said all of the above I am still tempted to place a few quid on London in the second half - surely they must get better...

Think Lions have only themselves to blame if they let this slip away.

Vince needs to get control of the players. Neptunas have just gooned Mullens - in the heat of the moment Mullens fell for it. You need a coach out there who is commensurate with the cost of this squad. Its a (badly-produced) Rolls-Royce being driven by Miss Daisy

Can see that Liggins already has his finger-trouble excuse lined up - stiff!
