Right back at ya'. You don't get to decide who posts. But I'll do a deal with you. Either admit you're a liar or produce those messages I'm supposed to have sent you this month, and maybe I'll leave you alone. Though I'll still decide where and when I post.
You're beginning to sound like IRF

I don’t know what to say- I’ve never known anyone quite like this in my 34 long years. (I’m stating now that I will never respond again to any of his posts-let’s all hope it’s vice versa for the sake of all our sanity and this fine forum

As always the BE timing is highly questionable!
At our club we've managed to run 3 sessions a week whenever it has been allowed in between all the restrictions. We've organised friendlies whenever possible and even managed a club adult/U18 summer league........but never have we been faced by so many confirmed Covid cases and/or isolations due to contacts.
Its the same at work.
So if you factor in that contact isolation is not due to end until Mid-August, plus holidays running any kind of performance pathway program during the summer holidays is bonkers.

I’m completely confused. My boy went into isolation because he played against someone who tested positive. Subsequently tested negative every day since but had to cancel a game due to isolation. In the mean time 60,000 attend the final at Wembley with 50,000 estimated outside the ground. Packed fan zones throughout the country. I’m not sure of the rights and wrongs and after the last 18 months and the boy losing his last year at national league I’m pretty much at the point of not caring anymore but where is the consistency of the current approach. If it all goes tits post Monday what was the point of the last 18 months?

However despite struggling in D1 how much did the team develop playing against stronger opponents. That in itself isn’t a justification for academy teams playing in the national league. Your point that neither Myerscough or Charnwood nor setting the league alight is valid but they’re solid mid table in a tight league. Charnwood would have done better if they didn’t have one or two of their stronger players playing 90 seconds of bollox time for Riders thus missing out on playing D2. I watched them batter magic ( without Pharroah Gordon) and would suggest that they’d finish top or near the top if they played purely to win. My son plays d3 for Myerscough and his development this year has been significant. They’ve finished fourth in an 11 team league after starting 3-5. Yes I think academy teams can cope in men’s national league and more importantly the development of the kids is massive. I understand the argument that they’re not a club with paying supporters and can see why some think it devalues the league ( check out the myerscough Itchen last 8 EABL game on you tube and the atmosphere generated by the students) is better than most bbl games) I do think that people sometimes like to think our leagues are better than they are. The truth is that most basketball fans arnt interested in the bbl. personally I think the academy teams add to the national leagues.

I think this comes back to how D1 is an utter mish-mash of different club looking to do different things. There's eight semi-pro clubs - I'll include bradford because they're making real progress at their new home - five uni/academy teams and Leicester Warriors. The eight need to form BBL II, they could take Manchester with them and add Teesside if they continue to progress. As long as the drawbridge isn't completely drawn up. that's a decent second tier, they can have a decent trophy (group-based) competition with BBL I and if teams are ready they can apply to buy a franchise. BE either cannot or will not understand how to run a pro league, there's simply no point continuing to get them to do so. The academy/uni teams would be fine in the new-look D1, Newcastle Uni would feel a bit pissed off - Mark told me as much during a conversation about this - but they're not a pro team and, as Loughborough have shown this season, they're always going to go in peaks and troughs. BE consider the NBL to be an amateur league, and that's great for academy & uni teams. It's time the proper clubs went off and played in a competition designed for their needs.

Beyond belief!
Then I remembered it’s England basketball.
Time to scrap the 2 divisions within 1 division. Just utter bollox
