It’s all very curious.
Basketball protocols (including the nba) do not consider that playing in a game or a practice amounts to close contact for the purpose of isolating. This is counter intuitive but the definition remains within 6 feet for 15 minutes.
We have similar concerns in the courts where the provisions are being interpreted the same way.
One assumes that the other lions players have all tested negative via the PCT tests.

"We're really sorry for the temporary fault and hope to return to the scheduled programme shortly" ? Yeah, can’t get the Sky Sports coverage (of Riders/Rocks) on any platform right now. ‘Technical Difficulties’ apparently. EDIT: Its now working on Sky, but not on YouTube.

I wonder if on the national sky tv broadcast they will bring attention to the fact that a basketball game is being played with one team dealing with a covid outbreak?
Hopefully Boris and Hancock are watching the FA Cup this afternoon.

And Sky Sports is still showing NBA at the moment instead of BBL. Liggins & Lockhart amongst the 6 apparently? 3 of their coaches also told to isolate for10 days- leaving just the 1 think available to take charge today and in Euros.

Hopefully Boris and Hancock are watching the FA Cup this afternoon. We’re all speculating on what the situation actually is... there’s been multiple examples of games continuing in numerous sports with reduced teams due to others having to isolate. Didn’t we even see that in the BBL at the start of the Cup competition? And as DaveF said, it appears the rules allow it, regardless as to whether it seems sensible. What I think is the real issue here is what appears to be the BBL’s inconsistency with their own rules and protocols.

London have been withdrawn from the Euro? This confirmed as yet? Or just rumour going around?

Apparently FIBA have now confirmed it and removed them from the schedule. I imagine this has huge ramifications for Lions going forward.

Hoopsfix reporting Liggins, Lockhart and Moore amongst those told they can’t play in today’s Cup final (although Moore wasn’t due to play anyway). Also reporting that the 8 players who are cleared to play today have had 2 negative covid tests over the past 4 days, and that’s why they’ve been cleared to play. Sounds like the only reason the game is going ahead, and the Giants semi-final didn’t, is because they have enough players with multiple negative tests to still put forward a team. So it sounds like Lions deep roster is the only bit of luck they’ve had right now. They’ve also confirmed they’ve withdrawn from the FIBA Europe Cup, but that’s a discussion for the other thread.

Apparently Vince is in The Car Park making a snowman starting 5 and is in the process of getting them registered for today’s final.

Wow what a mess and nightmare for all concerned. One of coaches put a vid of their training session this week and showed players in a gym - Ware, Spencer, Liggins etc. Wonder if that sort of thing would be relevant if things escalate

Eagles 11 up at the half - Lions obviously struggling. Great coverage, especially Fletch’s headphone wearing technique at half time !
