I'm just waiting for a Worcester fan to come along and point out things could be worse. the fact no one shows the problem with that club

This is BBL, no negativity is allowed thank you. You must happy clap regardless. Never say anything that might offend anyone because we should be grateful. Got it! I mean, they could have just left the franchise to rot and not bothered leaving a more than decent fanbase with nothing to watch, so whilst I'm usually the cynic in this case I do think you should be grateful. Do I think there'll be a step back in quality? I think thats a given isnt it. Do I think Paul James is the right man for such a project? No, I didnt even like the appointment for Raiders if I'm honest and if the Turks did get bored because they splashed so much money for no return then he's part of that with the roster he put together and failed to win with. But all that said you have a team to watch and that's better than nothing. It isnt the current franchise/owners fault Raiders were run into the ground and lets face it, theyre not coming back. Could be like us in Merseyside who've got nothing after Tigers went under, or Birmingham who've not had anything for years. I agree to a point. But no matter the motives, as soon as there is any criticism, just or not. There is a reaction of “just be grateful there is a club”. A side note it was mentioned on the BTR podcast channel that a raiders owner has been helping behind the scenes to make this happen

And tbh that’s the response to criticism even if your club hasn’t gone up the swanny

If this was the original Raiders and some sort of board coup had taken place and they were now saying it would be run on a shoestring and theres no imports then Id agree with you and theyd be right to be questioned. But this is literally a case of a brand new team coming about because a former sponsor of the Raiders took the impetus to make sure there's a team in the city. And it sounds to me that getting the Pavillions for another year is a minor miracle irrespective of who was right or wrong there. So there is much to be grateful for in this case.

Thank you for writing that notoriousbigz. So much to be grateful for. There Will be bball in Plymouth. In the many years I have been around the BBL, teams have come and gone, lost. but someone In Plymouth has done something to make sure that bballs in that area continues. Appreciate opinions, but surely there has to be some grace for the new guy who has done something. There seems to be much more appreciation elsewhere for what is happening. Really hope it works, so we don’t see another area in this Country with no Team.

Won’t be the only Plymouth sports team to change its name recently (Plymouth Devils speedway team now Plymouth Gladiators)
The way I see it the new owners want as much similarity as possible. Yes having Raiders and wearing green would’ve been perfect but that just can’t happen but it appears that they’ve really tried and seem genuinely gutted.
It’s Snickers, Starburst, Premier league. Nobody likes it at first but the product is still there….thank god

Can only see neighbour returning and dusha if he is back fully fit in time after his knee surgery . Only way Hamilton and Lawrence would return is if they haven’t found a team closer to the start of the season and took a pay cut . That’s my opinion anyway but who knows

Wouldn't be surprised if LDN add a few of those names as they are maxed on imports

Maybe josh Wilcher could return even denzel Ubiaro . We can all speculate and wish for certain signings but will just have to wait and see

My club is dead mate, my fandom doesn't transfer over so easily. I can see the roster essentially being the 6th men players of the last 3 years with a few starters to mix in. Players such as
Leslee Smith Josh Wilcher Denzel Ubiaro Issaiah Walker Theo Turner
With a possible marquee signing of Higher calibre brit such as an MBA.
This is all guesswork though

There’s always hope Mr T. The Suns didn’t have a clue 2 years ago and we had a Gret ride this year just falling short. But hey we love bball 😙

Wilcher and ubiaro make alot of sense. But remember the giants arguably there best season since re forming was the first year with there British core of the jones aliu Ben eaves ect ect. The key to the patriots is 3 fold this year. 1. Get the crowds back and get people on board and get the crowds flocking back and try and replicate the successful game nights. 2. Get a venue together for long term stability and having a builder backing this will massively help. 3. Finding a couple of hidden gems for example the ubiaros that raiders can use next year and beyond as building blocks of a successful club to add to the inevitable introduction of Americans and imports

Other than putting seats into the Life Centre (not sure how many will fit) this will be a challenge. Not sure about how having a builder will massively help, you need suitable location, funding and permission over a builder (they're not in short supply but the other parts are). 3: The link to the Uni will be important here I think, however the appeal to potential players may have been impacted
