Anyone know who theyre going to get as GM? The current one is leaving. With an owner with no history in the game other than as a sponsor, theyre going to need someone with experience?

I'll ask again. What are they going to do after this season?
The city has no bbl venue.

I imagine they'll play at pavilions again. Every year the raiders go through this, patriots will be no different

Yeah. That's always been my thought. Magically the dates have been found this season - albeit with a big rent rise - and it would be interesting to know just how many bookings they've really turned down in favour of Raiders over the years.
Getting your own venue needs to be a medium term goal, though.

Unless the BBL and it’s teams can secure a serious 50M plus private investment, it will remain where it is or die. Basketball in the U.K. deserves better, but money talks, and everything else is BS!!

Oh, you're back. I'd hoped that you'd try to answer my post 26 hours or so ago. I guess long words - and the fact that American team sport is littered with failed clubs - were too much for you.
TBH. you didn't really say anything in your latest post. Which is par for the course. So I have nothing to add. Other than I wonder why you bother.

I was wrong about no basketball being played last season Hersey. I was however correct when I said there will be no fans in arenas. The audacity of the BBL to burn taxpayer funds to put on a season, just to put it on amazes me. The fact that 2 long term clubs drop out after receiving bailout money says a lot, but hey, you kool aid drinkers ignore that. This upcoming season will be even more challenging. And there will be no more bailout this time. The BBL cartel will have to get more clever in its window dressing efforts. The charade can’t continue forever as fans will look for better stewards of the game!!

Can only see neighbour returning and dusha if he is back fully fit in time after his knee surgery . Only way Hamilton and Lawrence would return is if they haven’t found a team closer to the start of the season and took a pay cut . That’s my opinion anyway but who knows For those players who were on X year deals would they not just be TUPE'd across to the new company?

So back to Plymouth, this is what the new owner has said regarding the future regarding where to play. “We are in negotiations with other viable venues around the city so that we can come up with a solution to move elsewhere. With my construction head on, that needs to be sorted because if there is any building work that needs to be done to facilitate that, it needs to be started after Christmas to make sure that’s done & ready for the new season.” Really encouraging as he has his own building business. This really reminds me of the TV Tigers setup with John Nike in control. He had a way of putting money into the Tigers for years and was very successful. So my hope for the bball fans around Plymouth is, that will now be mirrored and have many years of a great Basketball Club.

That’s my opinion anyway but who knows Most have signed elsewhere already! I believe there are no returning players. Dusha has signed for sharks

Didnt you start out in here as someone who didnt know much about UK basketball but was a college walk on? Where does the figure of 50m come from? Youre on planet cuckoo land mate.

Forums getting a bit boring now.
No basketball talk on subjects just members having childish arguments at each other.
Shame really but for what it’s worth, I’m really glad Plymouth have BBL standard basketball at-least to watch.
By the sounds of it the new owner works in the building industry if I was a betting man I’d go with something along the lines off they will build something at Marjons. Could be that they build within the infrastructure at Marjon sports hall and build seats lighting etc or that they build a bolt on to the side and allow the uni to use it when they are not.
But we will see, again glad it’s back in Plymouth and hopefully it goes well although some seem to want it to fail

Well said Doners123. As stated earlier the new man has a building Empire. Give him a chance. The Turks could have taken the club elsewhere in the UK. This man is In Plymouth. So the next few weeks could be exciting? If you are that way inclined or you could take it down a black hole. Is your glass half full or half empty on Basketball ball staying in Plymouth.

Got me back for the memories from my childhood with my dad and sister, none of that with a new launch. I will try to support them but it'll take some time
