That's the name I was worried the job was going to. Good luck to the owner. He's gonna need it. Feeling the same way!

As much as I can't wait for player announcements, the announcement of GM fills me with anxiety. The previous 2 GM's have been in it for the club. Recruiting a GM who only wants to raise their own profile would be detrimental to the club!

Out of those six players mentioned would only want MBA wilcher and ubiaro Pretty sure Wilcher is done playing basketball, now that Ubiaro has graduated will he even stay in Plymouth?

Anyone know who theyre going to get as GM? The current one is leaving. With an owner with no history in the game other than as a sponsor, theyre going to need someone with experience? Paul Nicholson is the new GM and currently behind their social media

Anyone heard any rumours on potential signings for the patriots ? And if so when they will be announced ? By the time PJ puts a team together won’t have any time for a decent pre season

I wouldn't be surprised for the entire team to already be signed, I cant imagine you'll have to wait much longer, wouldn't be surprised if there's one there Thursday night too

i won't be shocked if CoS registration is done by November and a couple of imports show up for the start of the league season. They do have the bbl behind them

I dont mind late recruitment as a rule as you can pick up some gems that maybe were holding out for more!! Others obviously donw have a deal based on talent!!

They do have the bbl behind them I assume this CoS thing allows for import players? Simple question, low quality nobodies who haven’t found a spot on European rosters and they end up in the UK well after season started, how will that help the teams financial metrics? More tickets sold, sponsorship, tv ratings? Am I missing something? Seems they should just focus on British players this season until they sort out their bigger issue with a place to play next season.

CJ Gettys Jeremy Helmsley Amir Williams Rickey McGill Mike Morsell
etc etc
Do you ever have a good take on anything Ron?

Dude, you really need to let this Ron Scott thing go. What is the obsession with him? Strange. There are a large amount of past prime players on the market this year, and I suspect none will benefit the bottom line of any club, especially in the UK. So why not focus on British players in Plymouth and elsewhere? All the imports will do is take the cash and move on to the next opportunity anyway. Ovie Soko did that and he’s British! Amir Williams? I know someone connected to him. Are you kidding me?

Amir Williams. 8&5 at Ohio state, nba summer league, nba g league. But you know someone connected to him and therefore he’s a scrub.
Past prime players? On the market this season? What does this even mean? Don’t answer because it’s nonsense. The market is as same as ever with players coming available at different times depending on their priorities (g league, summer league, Mexico short season). If you profess to know or talk any different then it’s just more of the same anonymous rubbish that we are (so sadly) now accustomed to on this site.

He’s was at the end when he played here. Past performance don’t count. Where is he now? And yes, there are more players than ever looking for work now due to the pandemic. And how will these late stage busted players help any team financially? They won’t. Thats a fact. And dude why the attacks? A bit touchy I see.

not touchy : just fed up with the constant stream of anonymous nonsense you post.
You dont like it. Dont post it.
The pandemic doesn't impact the number of players looking for work in a market where 90% change team every season. Still the same number of teams. Still the same number of players.
and how old is Amir then. Must be 35,36 or your analysis?
oh, he's 28.

Disagree with total number of unsigned players on the market because there are loads of cheap Americans flooding the market. Many have great backgrounds but money is drying up all over Europe. So how much does a cheap American import make in the BBL per month. 2-3k/month sounds about right. But the point I was making is that Plymouth should not see any imports and just play UK players. Especially so as its a rush job to play this season, we are still in a pandemic, and this is a new owner. Its not as though winning the BBL is a financial windfall so why burn the cash?? Oh, 28 and playing where he is now is indeed the end of his career. Too many better players out there.

What is your view on the approach of any of the Western European countries with regard to American imports in the current climate?

For a bloke who gave up on the BBL after a couple of games, you seem to have spent a lot of time reading up on it.

I’m hearing there are just not that many spots for Americans as it’s cheaper for these domestic leagues to hire local. No one I’ve spoken to believe that clubs will be back to normal financially this season and possible next. In short, a lot of American players with no place to go. Americans are cheaper?

To be honest I'm not optimistic it'll be anything more than some pointless questions and a speech about how the club is saved. I understand why Carl is doing it but I can't imagine any serious questions will be answered
