Basketball must be the only sport where representing your country is not considered a massive honour really. Find it very strange. Was shocked by some of the calibre of players shown in the England team though- are these the best in the country really? Or is it purely a BBL team that's considered? Which is fair enough I guess. Kai Williams is Canadian though surely? Drew Lasker? Mike Tuck? I fully understand why players would want to go. If you’re selected to represent your country it normally means you’ve reached the pinnacle of sporting ability in your country and will be playing against the best players internationally. I don’t see this being the case here. Not sure they’ll all be singing ‘god save the queen’ either. However I’m guessing flower of Scotland will be sung with passion. . No doubt ‘braveheart’ will get some airings should Scotland and England meet! |
