Are Riders starting the season with what they have got or are they likely to have further announcement(s)?
Don't get me wrong, the recruits so far look fine, but with only nine players announced (including Lascelles) the bench looks significantly shorter than in recent years. Last season all 11 players played on average 10+ mins/ game.
Assuming Jalen Lindsay is past history, there is still a US spot available plus room for another UK/ EU player (if they have the budget). I wonder whether Riders are aiming to pick up at least one more on the cheap as US players get desperate for a contract? Nothing wrong with that if they feel sufficiently confident with what they have got.

I doubt we will run with just 9
Even if we wait to sign another US import we will nearly always add loughborough riders players to the bench who will likely contribute at least as much as a couple of your announced signings in games tbh
We don't have to announce players to do that
And there are some quality players we can bring in

For a team that's shallow, in desperate need of more quality and has a former very strong MVP candidate currently on the shelf, we've not done too badly our first few games. Even managed to beat this mighty USA Select team that's bashing up every other BBL side. You seem almost as concerned about our business this off season as IRF is about yours baldeagle. Not worried are you?
The Lindsey story wouldn't exist if we weren't seeking a third American. That would give us 10, all of whom would be genuine BBL standard, not just end of the bench fluff that only plays in garbage time of blowouts. I'd say that makes us pretty deep really.

Steven, of course I'm worried about Riders. If you look at what I've said about your recruitment it has been very complimentary, and I have consistently said that you will be strong. The only surprise is that Riders don't seem to have completed their squad and it's now mid-September, which is certainly a change from previous years.
I like the look of the Eagles squad, and I like the look of Riders' recruitment so far. I'm just interested in finding out if that's that or whether there is more to come.
And I agree on JWH - I don't think you will find anything on here from me suggesting that he isn't talented.

So different from previous seasons. Takes a lot of pressure off IMO. No urgency to make decisions We are already strong and tough opponents for any team as we are. although I've heard a little rumour that we may be getting an announcement soon as it happens |

Just a thought but Riders could still sign Kiefer Douse too, potentially.
I noticed he signed up to the open tryouts with Raptors 905 in the NBA G-League, so if he doesn't make the cut there or get noticed by another scout in attendance could end up heading back?

I'm almost starting to worry about you personally as much as you eagles fan worry about your lack of squad When will the money Eagles have saved by not having a proper coach anymore get spent on players? |
