First look at the new riders and so far so good. We have the point guard we have missed in cartwright, looks like he has the world on his shoulders and then bursts into life some exciting passing to open up the sharks.

James Hawthorne, Scorchers new forward, mentioned a pre-season personal target of a double/double. He's 9 and 9 at the half so a good start to his personal challenge.

So, 5:45 to go in the first, down 4 and Backovic has two turnovers, misses 2 three point attempts and a layup, comes out with 2:18 left on the clock and we are 12 down !!!!!!!
WTF is going on !!!
Son of CEO or what !!!!!
He goes out and we rally to end up 7 down at the end of the first
Leicester realise we can`t play defence or score and go on a run, with 3:03 left in the second then to really help us out lets bring on another relative who isn't strong enough to tie his shoe laces yet never mind play any sort of meaningful defence, along with cousin Marko !!
No surprise then down 22 at the half
Just goes to show how thin we are and how weak the playing time decisions are, neither Backovic or Montgomery are good enough for any playing time in this league never mind starting and playing meaningful minutes
I will not pay to watch them play, and neither will many other folks

In the last column of the games stats is the player INDEX column, a player contributing will get a positive score...…..
So Leicester have a starting five who all have a double digit contribution index score
AND WE HAVE BACKOVIC WITH A SCORE OF MINUS 2 !!!!!!
McNight with an index score of minus 1 and only 2 players with an index score of 10 or more
HOW BAD WILL IT GET !!!!!!!

Said it was the worst team in Sharks history and I sadly will be proved right. This makes me yearn for the likes of Justic Graham, Alto Virgil and Raymond McKeithan era - the next worst team I have ever seen.
McKnight a player not deemed good enough to stay on the roster 2 years ago is our 2nd best player. Felt for the new big guy Koch who looks a really good player. Lewis tried but he was the same out of control individual type player I rememeber.
The rest of the roster is a joke. MArsden and Tuck are too slow and immobile. Hanson Young is barely an EBL 3 player.
Backovic and Montgomery. Jobs for the boys or what! Wish my Dad/Mum was on the Sharks board. Why are these two on the roster. They make Locker Okorie seem like Michael Jordan. It is painful to watch. I feel sorry for them as it is not their fault they are not good enough. I watched Backovic for Hallam last year and he was not even very good in that game. These 2 are not even EBL players at any level.
How on earth can Backovic start - his statline is embarrasing and that air ball at the end. My son who is 14 could do better!
We have 2 players to come in but one is in a knee brace and the other is no nearer to coming over - why is he not here - most of the other teams ahve their imports in? Sharks had these issues so many times with permits.
People might say this is a snap reaction but Sharks had all summer to get a competitive team, sign 3 good Americans and bring in some British talent. They have ended up with a roster tonight that was embarrasing on paper and on the court.
Not sure many punters are going to enjoy the regular 50-60 points per game this team is going to score. Indeed without Koch it would have been a record low score tonight I feel.
Still Atiba will be back next year and the year after that. Wonder if the board have any more kids who fancy a game? It's like u10's football where the Dad plays his son!
What a decline for a once proud and great franchise.

The bench that was supposed to be deeeper this year and giving us more of everything scored...drum roll.....0 points!

An absolutely horrific showing with no plays run apart from Lewis one on one and the odd bit of inside play from Koch - all our points from their one on one play. No penetration, no ball movement, no inside- outside. An Atiba Lyons masterclass.
