Zero credibility to me. So unprofessional, and from the response I have had, I dont think that they care anymore The justification for the shambles will likely be a lack of funds to provide better.
But I would like to know what is behind the nonsense - is it the paywall provider who is causing the issues.
YouTube last season (though there was some appalling camerawork and occasionally appalling commentary) rarely gave this sort of issue.
Some people will have given the current crappy product multiple chances to improve and are given nothing in return. Tell us how much profit is actually now received from being behind a paywall?
I suspect the profit is next to non-existent. Dispense with the paywall and putting matches out for free would surely be a better option once sponsor exposure is taken into account.
This is bad, bad, bad for the credibility of the BBL.
And yet we have had no problems at all with the NBL coverage...

It’s a total shambles but regular bbl watchers will have expected this sadly

I'm amazed anyone's paying for the off chance they'll get to see a game. I presume while the money continues to arrive, nothing will change.

Didn't (try to) watch the game last night, but was reading about the total shambles (again!) on social media last night.
Absolutely appalling service. Who'd have thought we'd be in a position where we'd welcome a return of LiveBasketball.TV?! Yes it had a few issues, but nothing like this. And it was a lot cheaper (£50 for all games all season). I can forgive a few teething issues in the first couple of weeks of launching a new service, but this simply shouldn't still be happening.
From everything I've seen the poor service is actually a result of 2 separate problems - issues with the streaming platform itself and issues with the software used to produce the coverage. The fact that it's 2 problems is what makes the service so bad... previously the issues were generally with just producing the coverage, the platforms (LBTV and YouTube) where fine. I believe last night they resorted to streaming video from a mobile phone on Facebook, with the arena announcer providing commentary in the background. Credit to Raiders for doing something, but for a professional sports league that's laughable (or it would be if you weren't paying money for it).
I've noticed the 'Head of Communications' for the BBL has 'Try clearing your cache' in her Twitter bio now - even before her job title. Not sure if that's an attempt at humour or friendly advice, but either way it's embarrassing for the league.
I'm hoping to watch the Lions/Eagles and Lions/Giants games over the next few days... but am half expecting not being able to.
Finally, someone said in another thread that surely Sky have some say in all this. I'd have thought it's obvious, but they don't. They have no connection to BBL Player whatsoever. And if you compare it with their coverage I think that's very clear.

That is very amusing if it’s on her Twitter Bio but just goes to show how embarrassing the whole service is, clearly some clubs could foresee this happening and wanted nothing to do with it

Have to say it worked twice now for (both the two lions games)... But I would be raging if it hadn't. They clearly need a better system. Obviously whatever tech they are using isn't up to scratch as my very new mac is next to useless while a game is being played.

Have to say the last 2 Lions games have worked fine for me. If Lions put some half time content in it would preferable but it's good to hear Nigel's thoughts both before & after the game. I'm not so confident that Tuesdays game will go without any hitches.

Due to many problems, the BBL re-set my account so I am grateful for that. After the fourth attempt, it worked. I really dont know if it will work next time, so consistently is the problem

I’ve said this before and been shot down for it but streaming games is just not up to good tv coverage.

The BBL has launched a BBL Player app for iOS (Apple) and Android - both with support for AirPlay and Chromecast. Also, there is now a BBL Player app for Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV.
Hopefully these improve the experience of watching games for some. It really couldn't be be much worse!

It takes a while to load and would not play Eagles v Jets 2005 play-off game. Wheels just spun. It did load Eagles v Sharks and playback looks pretty good. None of the usual juddering video and audio is fine. Will try Chromecast later to see how well it plays on my TV.

I’ve downloaded it on my Amazon Fire TV, seems ok, apart from the initial log in instructions being in Spanish!

It’s definitely been on the App Store since at least 29th January. Did that possibly just link you to the website?
I’m having no app related issues so far, just the usual slow camera!
Edit - I knew I’d seen it. Niall Gray posted about it in Jan

Apologies if I’ve missed the answer but how do you unsubscribe? Via the website, not the app, log in and use the menu button (top right) and select ‘Profile’. You should be able to unsubscribe from there.

The BBL has confirmed the BBL Player will be back for the 2021/22 season.
Does anyone have any insider knowledge on whether the subscription model will be the same as last season - £20 a month for all games (live & on-demand) or £5 per game (live only), or whether it'll be revised for this season?
Given that we'll now be able to attend games, and therefore also spending money on season tickets/game tickets (and not having to watch all games on BBL Player), maybe the monthly subscription price will be reduced? Wasn't it said that the £20 a month was to help compensate clubs in the absence of any ticket revenue, which will no longer be the case?
I'd also like to see an upfront single payment season pass, perhaps around the £50 mark, in the way LiveBasketball.TV did previously.
Also just FYI - all content on BBL Player is currently available to account holders at no cost (but I expect that to soon change).

Just been announced all available free. Are Sky games back this year? I assume they won't be free?

Just been announced all available free. Are Sky games back this year? I assume they won't be free? This really is great news about BBL Player. I was hoping for a reduction in the subscription model, but having it all for free is absolutely fantastic. In regards to Sky, yes, this will be the second year of a 2 year deal with the league. Given that the statement from the BBL says ALL games will be available free on BBL Player I’m going to assume it’ll be the same as last season - the Sky games will be on BBL Player, but not with the Sky Sports coverage, i.e. the BBL Player will just have the usual single camera coverage with the resident commentators.

Great news and fair play
I’d have been very happy at a fiver a month so think they’re mad giving it away for free but if it gets a few more watching then maybe better in the long run

Great news and fair play I’d have been very happy at a fiver a month so think they’re mad giving it away for free but if it gets a few more watching then maybe better in the long run Likewise, was happy to still pay something in the region of £50 for this season even though we can now attend games. But I’m certainly not complaining about it being free this season. I suspect they’re no longer as dependent on making money on this as they were last season, and have decided giving it away for free for wider exposure of the league is the best move right now. Also, I think they know they’re still working on getting this service right, so give it away for free for a season or two and then introduce a charge (£5-£10 a month?) once the league is a bit more established and the service is of a higher standard.

Hopefully it doesn’t go the other way, and they put less effort into making the streams now they have fans back and it is free. Definitely improved in (most) clubs cases as the season went on.
