I wish i was a fly on the wall in thst meeting. The general consensus is 20quid is alright. But only if it allowed access to all matches. Individual games at 4.99 seems much better value. Crazy

Crazy Yes, it's the £19.99 a month for just one teams games that is getting absolutely slated on social media. I think £19.99 a month for all games and an option of £9.99 a month for just one teams games would be more acceptable. Individual games at £4.99 seems better value, but it states this is only for watching 'live' (whereas the full package includes watching on-demand). If I'm paying £4.99 for a game I want to be able to watch it when I want to watch it, or at least be able to watch from the start if I can't make the tip off time.

Looking through the rocks fixtures some months we have 5 games some we have 7. So price ranges from 2.85 to 4 quid per game per month.

The strategy is to exploit the most committed fans, not to grow the fan base. Very short sighted. I haven't decided what my favourite team is yet. I wonder what percentage of the population has a favourite BBL team. Probably something like 0.02%.

The BBL has put this on Twitter, I assume they must have had a lot of comments.
British Basketball League @bblofficial · 1h We hear your comments about the pricing. All money goes directly to the clubs and as we face a season where the return of fans to games in any significant capacity is still incredibly uncertain, this support is vital.

It would be better if they said nothing. They sound so desperate, it's very off-putting. I'm looking forward to the GB games but then I think I'm going to take a break from this. I'm feeling a bit disgusted.

Ha. What absolute banter.
I would’ve happily paid £10 a month but £20? NBA league pass is £25 a month for all teams, on demand.
What an absolute shower.

This is just weird pricing. £5 a game is fine (notwithstanding all the quality debates we have had on here) but a £20 month pass actually offers very little value over just buying your individual team's games. It is like nobody has even thought about the pricing structure.

The strategy is to exploit the most committed and affluential fans, not to grow the fan base. Very short sighted. I haven't decided what my favourite team is yet. I wonder what percentage of the population has a favourite BBL team. Probably something like 0.02%. I corrected that for you. As for neutral fans picking a team... Worcester Wolves are streaming all their games for free on YouTube this season, saving you £120 compared to 'BBL Player'!

As for the BBL being short-sighted on this... 5,000 fans paying £20 a month generates £100,000 a month. 20,000 fans paying £10 a month generates £200,000 a month.
I think that says it all really.

I am already a big fan of their women's team. Their last game at Loughborough was one of the most exciting games I've seen. And Worcester is probably the most convenient venue for me to get to from Swindon.

NBA League Pass also has an option to watch any 3 games a month for £3.99. BBL Player lets you watch an average of 4 or 5 games a month for £19.99. And lets not even compare the difference in quality of coverage between the two. I'm not saying I expect the same of the BBL as I do of the NBA in any way... just that the BBL have got the pricing on this completely wrong (on the monthly subscription anyway).

I think £20 is a bit of a stretch £4.99 per game seems reasonable but if there is no facility to watch on replay it feels a bit cobbled together. Having said all that I guess they have to start somewhere.

Yeah this pricing is insane and I’ll probably not even use it, I was fully planning on subscribing if it was £20 a month to watch every game

Having said all that I guess they have to start somewhere. Yes, that's a deal changer for me. I'm happy to pay £5 per game if I'm not limited to watching it live. I'd want to at least be able to 'watch from beginning' if I'm coming into it 15 mins late. Yeah this pricing is insane and I’ll probably not even use it, I was fully planning on subscribing if it was £20 a month to watch every game Likewise. Or better still the option of £20 for all games or £10 for all games of one team.

FYI the Wolves women's NBL Div 1 Game against Ipswich will be live on Saturday on youtube, should be a great game, I think it will be a big test for them compared to Bristol and BA London Lions.
