Oh no, I've been called an idiot by someone who doesn't know the difference between "your" and you're" who's seen me "argument with people before". Hurtful stuff..
I asked if you were still playing junior basketball because you're acting like a kid. A kid too young for JNBL, admittedly, but if you could make a few quid I'm sure BE will start a league for seven-year-olds. I'm not the only person to point out that it's tragic that a grown man is whining about a bloke in a fox suit and a bankrupt club when his city got a ready-made debt-free replacement. I might be the only one on here who did something about his club going pop, though, which I guess that's why I appear to have got under your skin.
It's worth mentioning that the club you supported last season won games with players they couldn't afford, took money from the Government to keep operating and then didn't pay their PAYE bill.
If you're coming round to discuss, can you bring IRF. He offered a while ago. but he can't afford the petrol.

1) teams hire doormen as head coaches 2) teams spend money they don’t have on slightly above average teams and end up going bust as a result 3) teams owners accuse players of diving on the floor too much and getting injured 4) teams owners who purport to be acting in the interests of their community sell up to the first billionaire they come across irrespective of whether they’re likely to get bored or not at the first possible chance 5) teams fans value a jumped up turd in a fox suit over actual basketball 6) teams fans can’t recognise that the new incarnation of basketball in Plymouth isn’t actually trying to tread on the toes of a defunct team, they’re simply trying to continue the legacy in the area (in places like Manchester that’s maybe not the case, but in Plymouth it definitely is) That’s a few reasons why “people can’t take our league seriously”. Do I need to go on?

We are all a bunch of basketball loving guys 9 times out of 10 talking hypothetically about resolving our clubs or the BBL with our opinions etc, I’m not getting sucked into your negitive talk, you wouldn’t act this bullish to my face I’m sure. And before people bang on about not supporting this new club over our beloved raiders, I have and do, so let’s put this rubbish to the side and talk basketball….

I think the Sharks not filling their venue is more Sheffield's problem than the league's problem, as a few Sheffield fans have pointed out themselves on this forum. Plenty of teams in the BBL are packing out their arenas this season. I sat in a full house on Friday night at Eagles and then watched them play in a sold out gym on Sunday at Cheshire on BBL Player.

Also anyone seen the price of replica kits…. What’s your thought on £50 for a top and £40 for some shorts? Seems a little steep. Not a dig before matey above tells me I need more council counselling lol At least they're actually selling merchandise, unlike a certain BBL team... The statement of affairs in relation to Plymouth Raiders 1983 Ltd from the liquidator makes sobering reading. £839,888.78 deficit, £161,882.00 of which is owed to HMRC. Unreal. The size of ineptitude is staggering. How an organisation is allowed to close shop owing this much money when it was owned by a billionaire is both shocking and disappointing.

Which wins the award for the most stupid pointless thread on this board. And the competition was though but the Fox obsession sealed it.

I'm not denying that. And you won't get banned for saying it, or for (again) mis-spelling "you're" But it wasn't a comment aimed (purely) at you.
I'm thinking of turning up at the next Pat's game dressed head-to-foot in England flag while singing a song about our nation's greatest victories. Would that improve the "experience"?

That's one expensive mascot.

£15,000?! Is that what it went for? I've been told that that's the value of the combined bid for Raiders and Foxy, haven't been able to corroborate. So to answer your question, kind of.

So you've spent £15k on the name Plymouth Raiders and a furry suit, what do you do now?

It's possible that it's the Turks buying it to stop it being used. I imagine the bulk of the £800k+ is owed to them as it's impossible to imagine how they'd have borrowed that kind of money (aside from using HMRC as an overdraft facility). If that's the case, a chunk of that £15k would come back to them.

All financials can be found here, including the amounts owed back to the owners: find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10784897/filing-historyIn your example above, they'd be paying themselves back if there were no preferential creditors, so net £nil impact. However, it looks to me as though the £15k will cover staff costs and remainder will go to HMRC as they rank first on the creditors' list.

Oh geez, now I'm getting interested in this saga... So we're, rightly or wrongly, assuming £15,000 was what was paid for the Raiders branding and Foxy? If so I'm really surprised the Patriots didn't go for it. I know finding a spare £15,000 in a cash strapped organisation isn't easy, but if it's going to possibly make the difference of staying alive or not I would have thought they'd have found a way somehow. What we do know for sure is that someone paid more than £500 for Foxy... which mystifies me if they're in no way connected to the Patriots, which it appears they're not. Unless, as has been said, the previous Turkish owners have bought it all to prevent anyone else from having it. Which really shouldn't be allowed, but I'm sure somehow it is.

I kind of see your point, but I'll counter with... uncertainty over venue beyond this season - would you want to pay £15k to be lumbered with a white elephant?
In my view it's very sensible fiscal restraint.

In my view it's very sensible fiscal restraint. I suppose it depends on how £15,000 compares to the total amount of money they've spent to get the Patriots up and running.

I could have looked it up, but have other - more pressing -things to do. Whoever's bought it - unless it's Patriots - it seems a waste of money. But you know what they say about a fool and his money....
