Here's a question ... Given that it will probably be on TV ... How many Rocks/Lions fans will travel down/up to Brum'
Hate to think that the majority of people at the game are neutral locals who are only their because of free/discount tickets
Just an opinion

There is no way the Rocks are losing this game.

TV has played only a very small part of that though. The second leg being mid January was the killer. Wages had already been allocated to other things by then. Had the second leg been in December I might've had the cash.

I was going to travel up for the game but I’ll be in London that day instead. Probably not get the chance to watch it live either

Good to see both teams have ticket/coach deals on their websites

Just voted that Lions will win but the odds in their favour aren't as strong now that Rocks are enjoying somewhat of a resurgence. Either way, I'll enjoy watching this and I guess I'll be rooting for Rocks to finally win some silverware and pull off a shock result. As Rocks will be the underdogs the pressure will all be on Lions and that could affect them.

I will try to avoid cliches in my pre-game thoughts
As for the final, it's a game 4 Qtr's and there can be only one winner.
Will it be a case of offense wins the cup, defense wins the championship or tactically best defense is a good offense.
I want to see the ref's let the game flow and call it both ways when necessary because sometimes them ref's don't pull any punches.
Think all players need to step up because when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
I want to see good team ethic, because as they say there's no 'I' in team and there's no 'U' either. Just don't drop the ball.
I suppose as long as both teams step up to the plate and not just talk a good game. hopefully, it will be a good game, good game.
No doubt some of the bench won't get any minutes, and some will have to take one for the team. They will just have to Suck it up.
Anyway, whoever wins, deserves to win because they played a better game and won it.
Summing up Lions, Rocks ... the ball is in your court.

Its Lions' time.
In years gone by I'd have said they may have bottled it - especially against the likes of Achara who is pretty much looking for a last chance of silverware and Murray who whilst being one of the better players in the league hasn't ever really won any team honours over here really having a point to prove, but I just like this Lions team.
Robinson is as steady a hand as you'll find across the league, and he's taking Spencer with him. Tabb is as explosive an offensive weapon as any in the league and Peel brings an industrious blue collar steel to the frontcourt with Bristol (who I feel is a big game player and tends to turn it up on the big occasion).

Heart says Rocks of course, head says Lions.
Rocks can win this as any team can win on their day. It will help if we manage to limit Tabb and for some reason the whole team play like (I hope) they can. If Achara/Fraser play like they have been recently then excellent. I think another key player for us will be Tadas Rinkunas. Robinson will have the better of our PGs but a good old team effort and we are in with a shout.

I think the gulf in quality between these two teams right now is too big for rocks to bridge even in a one off cup game
Lions have blown great opportunities to win trophies in the past few seasons
I think Lions and Vince will have learnt. In particular from the Playoff final defeat at the end of last season where they never turned up
I fully expect Lions to win this with a bit to spare
Would love Rocks to win it though, put a spanner in the works and maybe knock lions off track for the rest of the season
But I'm saying Lions by 8 plus

No prediction from me. Following Lions for over 20 years means I take nothing for granted & I always fear that the next game we'll implode! I've certainly learnt my lesson from last season when I went into the play-off final feeling quietly confident, the loss hit me hard, it took me most of the summer before I could even talk about it!!(I know, I really am that sad!!)
We have the ability to win but Rocks have some vastly experienced players who can bring it home for them. There will be no happier man on the planet if we do win!!

Totally believe league form doesn't matter in a one and done neutral venue game. The match up is interesting. Playing friday night will be a telling sign. 100% Riders aren't as good however we will have 1 eye on sunday even if it isn't the message from camp. Two teams who need silverwear. I haven't seen a huge amount of lions and as i said in my last comment rocks are a completely different team in minutes played. Our wee run of form has come against teams around us in the table but giants are beating teams as are nix. Robinson vs kenny Tabb vs bouna Spencer vs murray Peel vs fraser Larkai/bristol vs achara (larkai last few meetings imo has played insane against us)
Guede is another who tends to play well against rocks but he has played limited minutes this season
Lions back up 6-8th man:larkai guede lockhart
Rocks back up 6-8th man: tadas ziegler pryor

What quarter are we predicting that the Rocks will have their complete and utter meltdown? 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or all of them?

It's not a meltdown if it happens in the first. Surely we'll stick to tradition and go with the 3rd?

I still think Rocks playing Riders on Friday night is a bad idea !! Johnny Bunyan and the other bench player better play 40 minutes each in that game. We need to keep our best team fresh for the final. We aren’t making the playoffs this year and we better not pretend that losing a hard fought game two days before it will do anyone any good.

Suppose it makes a lot of sense when ya think about it. Riders expect to get 2 points Lions expected to win the cup ...and a 'get out of jail free card' for Rocks players ... "we were tired, fatigued and them Riders played us really hard" Ahhh!! ... bless em' ... Probably a bit harsh ... just saying edit win, win for whatsbev. ... Whatever the outcome ... I expect a lot of angry Rocks fans on here, venting their spleens I have heard rumors that Jonty has had a bit of a 'make over' ... and may even make a guest appearance ... if Rocks win the Cup!
