"I shout at the refs all the time but never swear" Whats makes shouting at a ref without swearing any better? I see & hear people all the time at Nix shout long streams of abuse toward the refs. Just because they don't swear it doesn't make it any less disrespectful. Calling a ref's integrity into question is out of order whether or not you curse. Plus with children around, "dear god, think about the children" it also encourages them to show disrespect when they play or spectate. Those actions are much worse than the swear words themselves, kids already know plenty of swear words but they follow the actions of elders. If shouting out when you think refs have missed a blatant foul is 'disrespectful' then I'm guilty as charged. I have never suggested or thought that refs are biased in favour of a team. However, sport fires people up and is highly emotional so the idea that we can't challenge a ref for a call or non-call because there are children in the hall seems wrong to me. Welcome to sport, kiddies!

I think it's very clear why the Giants haven't banned this Gentleman...
..He hasn't done anything to warrant it.
The reason he has been banned is because he dared to leave the cult of Cheshire and find the true path.
Scientologists are known to lash out in similar ways to people leaving their cult.

Welcome to sport, kiddies! If we go down the route of not shouting at the refs because it is disrespectful how about not cheering when your teams scores, or the making loads of noise when the opposition player goes to the line for a free throw. As has been said sport for the spectator/fan is an emotional roller-coaster and that emotion is what provides the atmosphere.

You're getting me wrong, I'm all for shouting at refs. Make as much noise as you want on free throws too, it's the kids fave bit. I was just pointing out that shouting at a player or ref is no worse if swearing is involved.
Either way, this whole thing points at the clique aspect that many Nix fans (myself included) hate.

As... Interesting as this thread has been I think we'll draw a line under it now and move on. Until the next episode, of course.
