Did the Nix player not grab the Riders player arm as he was launching a full court heave as time expired? The stupid thing was taking a shot rather than dribbling until time expired. Yep. Whatever you think of the rules, he fouled him on a shot. And there was no need.

Bad we lost JWH with what looks like a serious injury. Joe Scott finally able to shoot 3s so that was a plus. Wright our standout player. Sharks playing great, especially Nick Lewis. Hope they go on to win this tournament.

The shot from lufideju shouldn't have been been taken another huge mistake. It doesn't change the facts that the buzzer had sounded. Bug chance with sky there to make it look the part even with the gimmicks and they make such an armature move

There was no shot clock the game clock was the effective shot clock at this point It reached 1 with it in Cheshire hand. He shoots they grab the board he hoists and is fouled. It was clearly well after the clock reached 00.00. Shame they never really mentioned the controversy just showed the mix staff complaining.

Peel deserved his MVP award. What a player. So consistent and can do it all.

While the main Nix anger may be at the 1st game where 1 ref decided that in the space of 0.5 seconds a shot was made, hit the rim, rebounded, dribbled and then shot again. Joke, oh and Rob - what a clown.
I have just watched back the 2nd game against Newcastle as I was sure the scores were wrong. I was correct.
At NEW 17 - 18 CHE, Hayes scores a 2 and the scores goes, NEW 17 - 19 CHE (erm what about the other point). Then down the other end Newcastle score a 2pt, but get the 'and 1', as it's golden buzzer time then well done them a big 6 points. Score then goes from 17 to 25, erm what!
Nix were actually screwed out of 3 points in total and lost the game by 2.

Lions were worthy winners. Peel is ridiculously good and they can rely on Robinson to deliver that pass, assist or points.

Just watched the video back and the clock clearly runs out whilst the ball has just left the hand of the Phoenix player!

Cheshire got mugged in two games. They struggled with the score throughout.
McKnight hit a clear 10 or play. We were awarded 6. They never changed it despite all the Sharks bench telling the table.
It was a fun event tho despite some appalling work by the tables/scorers and refs. My Sharks played great and probably just ran out of gas (should have played more Tuck than the horrid defender Marsden in the final). McKnight and Lewis shot the lights out and both are showing real intensity at both ends.
Peel and Robinson excellent for the Lions.
As for Rob P. His reaction at the end of the Cheshire game was embarrassing and why a lot of fans dislike him. Why act like that? Utterly classless.

I was sat pretty much right behind the Cheshire player who fired that shot at the end of their game against Riders, and literally stopped watching because I saw zeroes on the clock. Then suddenly the Riders players were going nuts and they were putting some points on the board to make them the winners. We started talking about there maybe being a different clock at the table as the official game clock, rather than the one on the scoreboard, because what happened seemed so nuts. And we never got a remotely decent replay in the arena. Honestly, time and time again the refs, players, coaches or (especially) table officials had absolutely no clue what was going on. They screwed up the scores or just the rules a lot, leaving me with my head in my hands (and that's with no rooting interest - if I actually cared who won I'd imagine being significantly more pissed off). I usually enjoy FunkyTown's in-arena presentation (as much as I enjoy any of that stuff), but it never felt like he and his partner really knew what the hell was going on either.
This thing really does have the potential to be a lot of fun, and it's not like we were bored. But the whole thing still feels like a shambles that's largely being made up as they go along. I expected better now that we're in the third year of it.

Be honest though, both 'nix' mistakes were very funny.

Second game v Eagles didn't get any better, scores incorrectly entered on scoreboard doing Nix out of 3 points.

Well that was fun - despite scorchers putting in a dreadful effort against the sharks which left me quite depressed for a bit
As others have said the whole thing is badly let down by chaotic rules. Nobody seems to know how to score the thing, teams get points for apparently no reason and then virtually every game is stopped whilst the officials try’ and work out what has happened
And don’t get me started on the riders / nix. The whole bunch of officials should be banned for that mess

Can't imagine it's easy officiating a game with different rules to what you implement the rest of the season. Still, I've never watched this "tournament"!

I think it would be better if the 5 pointer disappeared and there was no golden buzzer powerplay. At least there'd be less confusion and the games would be closer to actual basketball games which are watched in the BBL.
