Safety matters however was deemed ok to play at the start?.Sharks looked great and was the Same conditions for both so I really don't understand.
I have a feeling riders did not want to be there from the off and from the action we saw I understand why. As long as when the Replay happens the same players are allowed to play only for it to remain fair. Got a feeling from Friday and today this riders roster won't be together for much longer.

Can someone with more knowledge then me confirm what happens now? Do we go through the remaining 3 quarters with the scores as they were at the replay, or are we back to 0 - 0, or do we just straight up forfeit the game?

You could hear the on court announcer say that everyone's tickets would be valid for the next game when Riders play there. As this season is only one home/ away game then he must assume the game will be replayed but I suspect that's just his on the spot decision and not official BBL decision. (We all know they don't work that fast......expect a decision in February!!)

It looks as though the intention is to replay the fixture at a later date, starting at 0 - 0. However if Riders appeal to the BBL and blame Sharks who knows what will be their decision.

Sheffield were fully aware of the unacceptable state of the court long before tip and apparently covered their players footwear in hairspray in order to increase the grip without informing Riders (when the refs had decided to abandon the game Sarah Backovich supposedly admitted this and unsuccessfully tried to convince riders to borrow her hairspray and do the same for the game to continue). When Rob starting to insist the court was unplayable at least an hour before tip the refs started inspecting the court, however the vast majority of the pre game inspection seem to be carried out by Kate Unsworth slowly walking around and pivoting on the court whilst wearing a pair of high heels (and to a lesser extent by the other refs who were also wearing formal footware which clearly has a different type of feel than basketball trainers) At this point it was decided to delay tip continue to try and clean the court using a machine that appeared to be faulty and someone walking over the court with toilet roll under their feet (although the person with the machine was called away to empty a bin which shows SIVs attitude towards the safety of the court) which unsurprisingly seemed to make little difference to the surface of the court. For some reason after some discussion it was decided that the game was to be played despite Riders continuing to insist the court was not playable.

Didn't the same thing happen last season in the Royals v Riders game? I think that game was replayed from 0-0.

We are very sorry to all our fans, and to the fans of Leicester Riders that due to circumstances beyond our control the match officials have had to postpone the game, only in the interest of player safety, which is paramount.
All ticket holders will be able to reuse their tickets for the restaging, or for any other Sharks home game this season.
The club will be making no further comment at this time.

If all of the above is factual, Sharks deserve to forfeit this game.

Junior games played before sharks game Riders insisted the court was washed So it was Riders complained again to the refs that they didn’t want the game played The compromise was to have the court washed again So it was The refs tested it and said the game was ok to be played Riders complained again Both teams played on the same court at both ends of the court So both played on exactly the same conditions Riders were losing 31-14 after the 1st qtr There was one incident of a player slipping when challenged and fell heavily, but that happens in every game. The player following a couple of minutes attention carried on At the end of the qtr , riders again insisted the game be called off, refusing to come back onto court, forcing the refs into calling the game off. I think even some of the riders players were surprised the game was abandoned Riders got their way whilst being comprehensively outplayed. In my opinion both teams played in the same conditions So like 2 leg cup games the score should be carried forward an should restart at the beginning of the second qtr 31-14

Whoever started the rubbish regarding the hairspray obviously had a mole in the sharks locker room I’ve never heard such unadulterated rubbish in all my born days

The court wasn't fine but then became unfit to use. Therefore, the score should be voided. Whether it's played again is up to the BBL.
